Sconce Electric

EVERYTHING went perfect. The guys in the crew were great. Each doing different sections of the house. Someone dropping wire from the attack, some working outside installing electrical for a fountain, someone under the house, electrical outlets all over the outside of the house for lighting/transformers/timers, boxes for outdoor lighting fixtures and attaching the fixtures and fininally reconfiguring and mess of wireing in the garage that had outside lights going on when the garage lights should only be on. They checked an exsisting outlet that was thought to be acting up. They were all friendly, good work ethics, cleaned up any mess. We already have given him referrals. He's THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They all worked hard and knew their business. His bid was several hundred dollars less than a contractor that was going to take 2 days to do what he did in a half of a day. That original contractor had also put this project off and off and off for 2 months with every kind of excuse. So, seeing how I lived in LA and my mom and sister in Sacramento I said ENOUGH! and turned to Angies List. I made a few calls for 4 companies. One which did NO follow up after my call and emailing the plan that needed to be exicuted. The other two were nice, one we couldn't get him out there fast enough to work within my time schedule and the other was a mistake my sister made by not returning his call to her.

The Sconce team traced a electrical problem (sudden loss of power on a series of wall sockets) to a defective wall socket in the chain. Replaced the defective unit with a new unit. Problem was corrected. The team coordinated an acceptable arrival time with us after coming to agreement on a home visit via telephone call. They arrived on time and had the issue resolved in about 1/2 hour. They were friendly and professional during the visit. We are happy with the service provided. Cost was appropriate, though I felt the part cost was a bit high.

They were prompt and friendly. They arrived early. They assessed the situation. I recently remodeled my old 1959 kitchen. The wiring was old and a nightmare. One of the kitchen workmen overlooked a plug for the stove and refused to correct it. Sconce did a quick and efficient job of installing what was needed. I was so happy with them I scheduled a second appointment to install a plug and correct the wiring next to the sink/dishwasher. After looking at the mess I had, he felt the safest way was to install a new breaker rather than hook into old wiring that was not that clear to follow. A man had to go under the house to complete the job. I am more than happy with the work they did. They were on time both times, courteous and left no mess for me to clean up. I was very, very happy with the work. I'm not sure about the price because I have nothing to compare it to. I've not had an electrician before.

I used Scone Electric based on their rating in Angie?s list and a friend?s recommendation, due the fact I could not be present at my rental property while the job was being performed. Greg Scone and his partner showed up and checked my electric system and panel, replaced a master bathroom ceiling light fixture, and fixed a bad switch on the garbage disposal. He also showed my tenants how to reset the GFCI breaker for the bath plugs. My tenants informed me they were polite and on time. Scone Electric is very popular and I had to wait a few days for an appointment. I had no issue waiting for a company that provides quality workmanship and is honest in their dealings with customers.

Moving into a new house, we needed an electrician to remove under cabinet lighting fixtures to accomodate a new full backsplash in the kitchen to be installed, along with checking 2 outdoor outlets that didn't work and a non-workng motion sensor light on the side of the house. We called and they were able to come out the next morning (Wednesday). Unbelievably, they did nothing. They kept talking about the backsplash needing to be notched for the wiring for the under cabinet and didn't know whether they would need to extend wires, etc. Of course it would be notched, and why would we need wiring extended. All we wanted was fixtures removed! Then they starting talking about LED lighting, $100 each and so on. Took a look at the motion sensor light and told us to get a new one. Told my wife that the owner would call her husband (me) that evening to talk about cabinet lighting options and that they would come back to do the lights and other stuff. Because the under cabinet lighting needed to be removed before the backsplash is installed, it was critical that they came back out; either Thursday or Friday for the backsplash work to be done on Monday. My wife asked over and over whether they could come back either of those days and we were assured they could. So first, no call from the owner. Then called Thursday morning and guess what, the can't come back until the following week; too late!! Seems like they were more insterested in cross-selling vs. providing service. Would never call or recommend them.

First: He unwrapped the new ballast and then he removed the old ballast located in the ceiling light panel. He then proceeded to install the new ballast and tried the lights. Nothing happened. There was no light. He then proceeded to call his company as to why the new ballast wasn't working. He spent about 10 minutes on the phone. He then proceeded to undo the new ballast saying that wasn't the right type. I told him that General Electric Representative assured me that the new ballast was the right type. Rather than getting into an disagreement with him he told me he would check his truck to see if he had a different type of ballast. Sure enough he has one. He told me the new ballast cost $30.00 and would i object to him installing it in the lamp fixture. I was in a quandary as what to do. The Ballast I provided had an extra wire which he didn't know what to do with it. I realize that there are many ballasts out there, but I at least expected the electrician to understand the workings of the ballast. I therefore, acceded and had him install his $30.00 Ballast. I would tend to think that the electrician would at least understand the workings of the ballast no matter how many wires it had and would make it work. Other than that he accomplished what he came to do in a professional manner.

The work was great. They came on time with four workers. They came in and did the work quickly. They were polite and they even added a plug in a hallway at no cost.

It went very well. I was very satisfied with the work done by Greg Sconce and his Electricians. They were all very professional and took great care at doing the job right. I especially like how Greg coordinated with the cabinet Contractor to make sure all the electrical connections for the cabinet were done correctly. I highly recommend you hire Greg for any electrical work you need done at your home. Especially if you want clean installation of any TVs, sound systems, etc....Greg will install it for you without hanging wires and easy connections for future electronics.

Greg Sconce, owner of Sconce Electric is very experienced, highly professional and very receptive to the customer's needs. I was very impressed with the skill set of Greg and his electrician team. They arrived on time, and immediately got to work. They ran heavy gauge 6-4 wire from spa to quick disconnect, and then to main panel. Since conduit is exposed on patio, Greg ran steel conduit from spa to quick disconnect (many electricians wouldn?t bother to do this, & instead would run cheaper flex conduit). He even notched out my spa pad so conduit transitioning from pad to patio surface would be a smooth drop. Greg and his team proved to be efficient & meticulous, paying attention to even the smallest details. Greg even took off every panel on the hot tub siding, checking for leaks, and even gave the new spa a test run to make sure the new spa was completely operational. The job took approximately 2.5 hours and went smooth like clockwork!

The entire project took just three days to complete. Greg and his staff were always on time, very professional, clean, quick, efficient, and most importantly, he was able to get the family room job done without tearing apart the ceiling to pull electrical for the lighting and fan. They removed the old lighting fixtures, patched and dry-walled the ceilings, installed the electrical and the canned lighting and had the ceiling texture sprayed to match the walls. He even installed our fan for us! His price for this job was very fair. The house looks wonderful and updated. And, even better, we have excellent lighting in our family room, kitchen and bathroom. Job well done! This is the second time we have used Sconce Electric. The first time he responded immediately to fix a burn-out electrical outlet. We were sold on him from that time on. We'll use him again!

It worked out great! They arrived the very next day after I called to schedule the appointment and they were quick to respond to my request.

The work was scheduled over two days, but the first day a team of five came to our home. All workers, including owner Greg, were great to work with. They were punctual, professional and friendly. They worked well as a team. They put tarps down to catch the debris when adding the new recessed lights and cleaned up after each project area. Greg patched the area where the old pendant light was between the two new ones. It looks great. They completed the work in one day. We had a couple of minor issues that Greg corrected in a timely fashion. When he came back for those fixes, we had him switch out the laundry room and master closet recessed lights to LED. We got a 10% discount on the labor for both projects. We were very pleased with the service we got from Sconce Electric. We would definitely recommend them.

this is my first experience with Angie's list following years of frustrating repair services. The service man was prompt, friendly, quick, confident and experienced. He fixed everything I showed him. I would definitely use this service again and am now confident in Angie's list.

He would have cost me a whole lot of money. He was good enough to offer another alternative that wouldn't have been nearly as expensive. I was really happy with him. He was professional and helpful. He definitely had my welfare as his priority.

Honestly, I can't say enough GOOD STUFF about Greg and his crew. I will use their services again and again and again. Greg sent one of his crew members out to take a look at my garage door opener as they had recently moved the key pad and it wasn't working anymore (shorting out). Well, it turned out to NOT be related to the key pad at all, but was wiring in the opener itself. He fixed it and didn't even charge me for it... WOW! You just don't get service like that anymore from most contractors. Greg and his crew stand by their work and then some. ;)

They installed the lights I had already bought. He even put a new dimmer switch in! I am very happy with their work.

My house was built in the 1950s and it was time to update the electrical switch box. I received a very detailed quote from Sconce Electronics, and decided to use them to do the job. I had a couple of extra phone conversations with them and they were always glad to listen to and address my concerns, and discussed options that I had. They made sure I had the county permit ahead of the day of service. On the day of service, they were right on time....I really like that. The crew got right to work and quickly got the job done to the inspector's satisfaction. There will be a final inspection once SMUD has finished their end of the work. This crew was professional, friendly, polite, answered question I had as they were working, stayed on task, and did a great job. They had all the equipment they needed to do the job. There was no running to Home Depot at the last minute for something they needed/forgot. I would definitely use Sconce Electric again.

Greg and his team did a great job. He gave me an estimate, helped me pick out my fixtures, and came to install it when scheduled and on time. His team was nice, respectful, hard working, and did a great job!!! He was able to complete the work despite my tricky ceilings (no attic, beamed roof). He was very helpful every step of the way and never acted like a salesman. They were done with the job in about 5.5 hours!
