Electric Connection

John arrived and first checked my home's main breaker box. He then went to the pool equipment pad and inspected the wiring of the new variable-speed pool pump and pool filter. He found that the copper ground wire was intact. He checked the new pool lights and replaced the GFI breaker for the lights at the pool pad site. He then performed a test to check for the grounding of the new metal handrail. He performed the test 2 or 3 separate times and informed me that the connection was not good. He informed me that the "handrail did not have equipotential to ground". (This was one of the MAIN REASONS I decided to have a qualified electrician check out my pool equipment. I am very safety-oriented and concerned about pool electrocutions). He explained the need for proper grounding/bonding of all pool equipment. He recommended I replace the metal handrail with a non-metallic rail that did not need grounding or bonding. After he departed, I went to the Internet and found a company called SAFTRON which manufactures pool rails and pool ladders that need no grounding or bonding. They are made of encapsulated aluminum and covered in a high-density polymer coating. I called John to see if this was the type of pool rail he was referring to in our conversation. He said it was. I ordered a new SAFTRON pool rail just like the metal rail I had installed and then I had a concrete contractor replace the metal rail with the SAFTRON rail. It looks FANTASTIC!!! I would never had known there was a grounding problem with the metal handrail had it not been for John's electrical knowledge and expertise. Thank-you, John, from the bottom of my heart!!!

Price was right. Made the appointment and was called earlier than the original date. Great by us. Installed new wiring, drill hole for box and installed. In and out quickly and very professional. Would not hesitate to recommend or use again.

When I moved into my new house there were some electrical irregularities in parts of the house. John and RJ inspected all the outlets in the house to make sure they were wired properly, inspected the wiring in the attic space, labeled all the breakers in the main breaker box, and did general cleanup of a messy electrical installation in the garage. I initially had them out for the electrical inspection and breaker box labeling which was an Angie's list special offer. After the inspection John wrote up a detailed list of things that needed to be done and things that it would be nice to have done. I had him and RJ come back to do the critical things on the list and when the time comes to do the other things I will definitely have them back to do them. John and RJ were both very professional, friendly and detailed in their work. BTW - They give a discount for Angie's List members.

Electric Connection was on-time, extremely professional and helpful in every respect for the solution of my wiring dilemma. After determining a couple of suggestions I chose the new install of a switch plug so that my garage attic fan could be turned on and off without crawling into the attic, and also re-wired the fan itself with compatible Romex for the receptacle. Very happy and satisfied with Electric Connection every time I hire. Outstanding service.

I had called out someone else before to fix my outdoor lamp and they wanted to take the entire lamp, which is bolted to a cement pad into their shop, which I declined to do. This time the light was fixed at my house and there was no mention of taking it anywhere. They came on time, exactly, and did what had to be done and were done in a timely manner. The owner was pleasant, efficient and asked only for new lightbulbs! The cost was reasonable and I am extremely happy with this company.

They met and exceeded my expectations, and arrived promptly on time, and completed the work quickly and efficiently. We could not be more pleased and would definitely use his services again and highly recommend John and Electric Connection to friends, neighbors or anyone needing high quality electrical contracting.

This is the 2nd job this company has done for us; they are AWESOME! John does not mess around; he is meticulous and particular about the products he uses. We appreciate that he doesn't automatically go cheap, bottom-of-the line products. He told us this up front when he gave us the estimate, and we were good with it. The front outside lighting was not an original part of the estimate, but he was willing to do it on top of everything else they had planned for the day. I appreciated that flexibility;we are very pleased with the end result. The work ethic is very high. Our kitchen was a difficult rewire; one of the outlets wasn't even attached to a stud! No problem for them, they built a wood reinforcement to secure the outlet. Thanks John & RJ!!

I have wanted to upgrade the slow-to-light CFL recessed lights in my kitchen for years and decided to use Electric Connection for the project. John gave me his idea for the retrofit and an estimate, and I made an appointment for only a few days out. John and his crew arrived on time and performed the work to my complete satisfaction. The new lights are exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate his professionalism and approach to his work. From wearing booties and laying down a plastic barrier in the kitchen to protect the floor and my countertops and appliances to my inspection after completion the process was smooth and seamless. I appreciate all he did.

John the owner was great. He showed up when he said he was going to - gave me a 30 minute heads up phone call and brought all the necessary equipment and supplies. He obviously knows his stuff and works very quickly, cleanly and efficiently. He even put up with my endless questions while he worked and was very pleasant to have a conversation with. Bought the Angie's List Big Deal for $225. John and RJ showed up on time and took about 1 hour to put in a ceiling fan where there previously was not one. They had to crawl up into a hot attic to pull wires and secure mount to framing. They un-boxed and assembled a fan which I provided, then hung it. It works great and does the job where I need it. I would definitely hire them again for electrical work.

A+. John came out for a quote back in November. We weren't quite ready, but after meeting a few more people a few months later, we remembered and decided to hire John. We still remembered his professionalism while giving us a quote. We contacted him and he honored his original quote and adjusted it for modifications on our end. We're extremely satisfied with the speed, quality, and cost of his service. He completed the work in 2 days, kept everything clean, and minimized the number of holes needing to be made to install the recessed lights on the first floor. We did run into an issue where he couldn't quite install the lights as we wanted due to beam placement in the kitchen, so he reduced the lights to 3. However that night we were not happy with the lightingeffect. The next day he worked with us to find a better configuration and made the change without extra charge. We're very pleased with the result. Glad he was willing to ensure we were completely satisfied, a true sign of his professionalism. Only thing we'd do differently is hire John 5 years ago when we bought the house.

We contacted him last week and he called immediately to schedule, He was on time, gave us a written estimate on the spot, and started the job and competed it all the same day! John and RJ were extremely professional, knowledgable, friendly, and efficient. I would highly recommend these two very hard workers.

They answered very quickly when I called. They showed up on time at 7:30 AM which is really early and they still made it on time. They were very friendly and helpful. My ceiling fan is working and they did a great job. They also helped with another problem I had in the house that wasn't part of the original ceiling fan bid and they didn't charge me any extra.

Jon came out within a few days of us calling him. He was able to pinpoint what our issue was with our outdoor lights, pool lights, and all outside electrical. He was very professional and helpful.

John was prompt in arriving. He called ahead of time to let me know he was on this way. Which I really appreciated. Once here him and his helper worked together in promptly getting everything installed quickly. They cleaned up after themselves. Had me test my new equipment to make sure everything worked OK. When another electrician did not show up nor give notice that he was not coming to the scheduled appointment on Friday, February 13th between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m., we turned to Angie's list for help. We spotted the great reviews on John's company and gave him a call that same Friday afternoon. We were shocked when John offered to come give us an estimate on Saturday knowing that it was a three-day weekend (Presidents' Day). Now that's great dedication! John showed up on time and was very personable. When we told him that we had a difficult time walking in the pitch dark from the back of the house to the sideyard where the trashcans are located, he readily recommended a motion detector light. We also had old lights that needed to be switched out to newer models, plus we recently had a patio built and needed two lights installed within the columns of the patio cover. We also purchased a light for over the kitchen stove that was "direct-wired", which meant we would need to install a power cord, however, John asked if we saw that same light with a power cord already included. We didn't realize that these lights came in two styles: hard-wired and plug-in ready. We were able to return this light and get one with a power cord already installed. If we had not been able to find the light we needed, then John would have been able to assist us by installing the power cord. John gave us an estimate and we scheduled the work for two weeks later (March 2, 2015) allowing us ample time to prepare a short ditch in order to place the electrical conduit (we will later have concrete poured on top by David Morris - please see my review). John returned on March 2, 2015 and was on time and ready to go! He proceeded to wire the two patio lights, switched out the other lights, and installed the motion detector light. He was very quick and efficient. We had the opportunity to try out the motion detector light and are very pleased with that feature. No more stumbling around in the dark! We are very pleased with the work that was performed and very happy with the service from beginning to end.

John and RJ were very punctual and efficient. They installed a fan in nearly every room (no previous fans) with minimal disruption and left everything as clean as it had been. Hint: remember to ask for all unused parts back. They left all of the manuals and remotes in an organized fashion. All I did was live with it for a few days, then decide whether and how to mount the remote holder. The fans were Harbor Breeze Portes, 52". I noticed a rubbing sound on first and last rotation and called Harbor Breeze first. Then I called John and he advised it was not a safety issue. Sounds are coming from inside the motor. If I had only one, I would consider exchanging it, but will revisit the issue before warranty is up. I may have some electrical work in the future and will call these gents first.

Jon (owner) helper (RJ) were on time; assessed situation, provided quote for additional work, covered area and did work. They clearly enjoy what they do. They cleaned up all areas. Have already scheduled more work.

It went terrific! I initially contacted Electric Connection for the Big Deal for $399 (4 recessed lights), and was able to reach John right away. We discussed what I wanted, and also some additional items, after which we set a schedule 2 weeks out. The day before our appointment, I received a call from John as a reminder, which really impressed me. On the appointment day, John arrived as agreed, we discussed the placement of the 4 recessed lights and I wanted to add 2 more in the same area, and 2 in a niche. Also, I wanted an outlet in the pantry (he ran a dedicated line from the box)...so all of this was agreed and done in the same day. Since we were doing this, I was convinced to update the recessed lights in my kitchen to LED, and I'm so glad I did! My rooms look so great, and I wonder why it wasn't like this in the first place!!! John brought his helper RJ who I can't give enough praise to! Both John and RJ worked as a well-oiled machine and I was very impressed with their professionalism, cleanliness, and very pleasant attitudes. The project took a good part of the day, and was more than I originally signed up for (at my request), but it was very worth it. I'm sure that I will contact Electronic Connection for my next electrical project. Hire him...he is so worth it!

We had a bit of a problem with scheduling, but John came through and promptly took care of everything. He was very professional and pleasant. We will definitely use him for all our electrical projects.
