We had a water heater that was 8 years old and had never serviced it once (we didn't know we were supposed to have it serviced, oops). They arrived and explained in detail everything they were doing in a very easy to understand manner. Once they knew we might need a few new parts before even looking inside, they offered to take everything apart and apply that fee to a new heater if that is what we decided. They were extremely patient and not pushy. They installed the new heater on the spot that day. We also were happy to hear that they had a plan included with the heater we picked, whereby they will do all future maintenance for free for the life of the water heater. Meaning, they will call us every time it needs the routine maintenance. Good for people who forget to service a water heater for 8 years :-). They were professional, been in business a very long time, and did an all around great job.

They placed the toilet and they said that the problem was the main line. They came back and they said they have to work for two weeks because the problem was the main line. They did the work and they were good as far as it goes. I just have to pay 79 dollars more because it’s a weekend.

professional kept recommending 10,000 service which I could not afford .all other services were excellent.

Moffett's technician, Joseph, was very thourogh, knowledgable, & professional. I've called on many plumbing services over time but Moffet's organization has been the most thourogh in resolving this major repair job. Time will tell their effectiveness, but I believe they did their best at a fair price. Their office staff must also be commended for great phone response and assistance.

replacement well in to Our pilot light was not working so we called Tom Moffett Plumbing, whom we have used before. The technician worked on restarting the pilot light to no avail. So he gave us 2 options Call GE for a replacement or put in a new one. There was no pressure put on us. But we decided that since the water heater was already old we would replace it. He worked on the replacement well into the late evening. We felt the price was fair and the serviceman was fair and honest.

Lots of work and time but went well . Had the parts and the 2 men work well together and are knoledgeable about the job.

What a rip off. First I ask the tenant to call Tom Moffett Plumbing. He did and explained that he wanted to have them come out and clear the drains. The receptionist starts off every conversation with a little attitude about their $59 show up fee. She so frustrated my tenant that I had to call. I did and arranged to have them come out. They arrived late and then called me in Florida to tell me no one was home. I don't know if they knocked on the door but I called the tenant and she opened the door to the suprise of the plumbers. They assessed the job and quoted me an outrageous fee, top dollar for crappy service. I ask the tech to subtract the Angies list 10% discount and I ask for an additional 10%. He contacted the office and told me they agreed. After they left I contacted the tenant to see how they did. She advised me they were rude and pushy, damaged the up stairs Tub and failed to bill the correct amount. Basically Tom Moffett Plumbing does not live up to their Angie's List agreements and should be monitored carefully for errors. I disputed the charge with my Credit Card company and Tom Moffett Plumbing refused again to give the discount they advertise. It is plainly marked on the invoice. I originally spoke to the service manager and agreed to give all my plumbing business to them. We own four rental properties in the Irvine CA area. So sorry Tom but you guys are crap. Keep the $100 you promised me in discounts and never darken my doorways again...BE VERY WARY OF TOM MOFFETT PLUMBING. THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU AND YOU WILL NEVER SEE A SINGLE DISCOUNT FROM THEIR UN-TRAINED AND UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF!!!!!!!!!!

They performed my annual home inspection and water heater service as I am a member of their Diamond Club. Everything went well. The techhnician was on time, well kempt, polite and neat. Offered a home water softener system but was not pushy nor rude when the product was declined. Snaked the one drain that had a problem in the whole house on the spot and didn't "find" things to fix to up the charges but commented on how well everything was working. For a minimal fee, it is worth it to have a plumber who will look for problems before they get out of hand and a company that will respond to emergency calls at any time, night or day.

Even the night when the tar had been poured, the smell was at a minimum thanks to the large exhaust fan they left running. The grouting and tile work was done very well. The only problem afterwards is that the wwoden door wasn't sanded down before it was painted and it has blisters around the knob. Tom even went with us to the local hardware store to make sure the tile we settled on would work and had sizes and bevels to work around the enclosure. When they ran out of beveled tile, he wnet to other Lowe's to find enough to finish the job. He also gave us a head's up on a low-flow toilet on sale at Cosco (installed the same in his own house, he insisted) for a much better price than we found elsewhere. Despite all the care in masking closets and protecting carpeting in the master bedroom, we did have lots to dust up after the job was done.

Came out promptly. Very pleasant to speak to and professional. Showed him the area that needed to be snaked and he went to work. Although I already described the situation, he took extra steps to fully analyzing cause in case I missed something. Finished work, cleaned up and charged the minimum fees $99 - $10off Angie list promo. Happy with the service and will do business again.

Over the years, Tom Moffett has become my go-to plumber in Big Bear Lake. Before I found him, I was always disappointed and shocked by the cost and timliness of other plumbers that I used or obtained estimates from in this harsh climate -- and some of the cost came from their own lack of knowledge. In contrast Tom always responds in a timely fashion, and makes it to the location no matter how many other cold weather crisis he is respnding to. He clearly communicates possible solutions and costs in a patient manner. His execution is efficient and timely, has saved me many times as I have a rental property there, so having a property that cannot be occupied is not only inconvenient, but is an addditional cost to me to provide altternate accmodations for the tenant until repairs are made. He is honest and dependable and tries to save me money, and my property manager is for my rental is under strict ordersnot to have any other plumber perfor work, even if I can't be contacted.

We have had such a great experience! He definitely gets the highest grades from me.

They use fixed "price book" for each job. Very, very expensive for minor repair.

Arrived a little late to start, but they had called to let us know they were running late. Completed the job on time and within quoted amount. took care to minimize damage and cleaned up afterwards. explained everything they had done, and additional services that they could do for us later. wish I had started with them, and not spent $650 with someone else to find the leak.

Sam and his new assistant Kevin arrived on time. Sam explained the job complete. Both were very polite and cleaned up when job was finished. Drain cleared. Sam and Kevin were very professional.

We had lost considerable water pressure over a long period of time (have been in the house 12 years - about the time for a pressure regulator to go out). Called them and they dispatched quickly, came to inspect the pressure regulator, and verified that was the problem. They replaced the regulator, and then also checked and flushed the water heater and replaced the rusted stub of an anodizing rod in the water heater. Finally they replaced two bathtub spouts that were stuck open (could not close to start the shower). This took a few visits, but they arrived promptly for every visit, and genuinely cared about not just doing what we asked, but also suggesting other possible services.

I called Tom Moffett because I've used them before; they're a big enough outfit that they'll have someone available, and small enough to have good quality control. The cost is $59 for them to come out, then their prices come out of a menu. I called after noon, and had a plumber out by 3pm, it wasn't an emergency, but it was a nice little job to round out his day. The hose bib on the front of my house was leaking, and unfortunately it isn't the kind that just unscrews. Ray arrived, tested the water pressure at the faucet, and went over the options. Top of the line was about $700 to replace the whole thing, including the water pressure regulator and main shut off valve. Just replacing the hose bib was $299. He had it done in about an hour, and it looked spectacular, no scorch marks from brazing or any damage to the freshly painted surfaces around the hose bib.

Overall it went very well. I would use them again in the future depending on the job needing to be completed.

Very professional, quality work but found price to be on high end for repairs done

Everything was perfect and he got the job done. The next morning I thought I had a problem and he came out like within 10 minutes. He explained that I didn't have any problem and what to expect. He was great. If a person needs one, then they should definitely hire him. He didn't charge anything for the installation of a clean out. He was very nice. The price was cheap.

They are a little bit on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. They are so professional. It is amazing on how good they are. He had done the things where they had cut the roots. He put a camera in there, and you could see that the cutter does not get everything. It still looked like an upside-down forest coming in through the top of the sewer line. I paid him to hydro jet the whole line, and he run the camera in there afterwards, and it is clean as a whistle. He said it should last maybe a couple of two or three years. It was like clock work. It was always at night that the toilet would not flush. The sewer lines do not clogged up in the day time.

It went very well. Excellent communication. We always knew what was happening. The new faucet we supplied was Swiss and had different size fittings. They made a quick trip to their supplier for exact matching parts. Nothing was forced to fit. They even removed the hard water deposits that would be hidden by the new faucet plate so it seated flat. A well fitting and professional result that was worth the price.

I checked with other plumbers who said that price was high. HE also suggested $2000.00 in extra plumbing services that aren't really necessary. They did respond fast. And the receptionist was very professional and upbeat. '
