Inspection by Ricardo was thorough and informative. Work was scheduled surprisingly quickly. Technicians Manny and Eddie were very nice and very professional. They stayed all day and worked very hard. Spot treatment using 2-3 types of non toxic (to humans, plants or pets) chemicals done in the attic, under the house and throughout the wood beamed ceilings and many wood windows. We had called a different company that after their inspection strongly suggested tenting, but after talking with Pacific after their inspection, it became clear to us that although Pacific's spot technique was more expensive than tenting/fumigation (about twice as much), at least we won't have damage to our red clay roof tile from tenting, as well as having to move a massive amount of plants out of patio & house, and double bagging all food, medicine, including refrigerated & frozen stuff and on top of all that hassle, having to find a place for several cats, a dog & two people for 2.5 days while our house remained tented, but unlocked and conceivably accessible to anyone. The Company provided a two year guarantee and promised to come back anytime during that time if we see more termites and they gave us a very nominal annual rate for future treatment beyond the 2 yr guarantee. Pacific was referred to us by a neighbor who was very happy with the work they did, and we are very happy with them as well.
Description of Work: Inspect for 2 types of termites, provide 2-3 types of treatment - no tenting required.

They use the citrus thing and we liked it because we didn't have to wrap anything in bags and leave for three days and then worry about that stuff all over your house. They came and it's probably an extra $1500 but I probably would have spent that because you have rent hotels and put dogs in kennels. They were good because we enjoyed not having to move out, and when they were doing the work, we were at the house and the dogs were fine. It was kind of neat because you could smell oranges. Since the first time we used them, two or three years ago, I get a yearly service for $375. They come out and do an inspection and sometimes during an inspection they can do it right there. And if there is a bigger spot where termites have shown up, they sent out a crew and that is all part of the $375. The price is a little high but they do a good job. They are very professional.

I called Pacific Coast Termite because we'd heard rats in our attic and I needed them removed quickly because we were selling our house. We were assigned Brandon as our tech, and the first visit I tried to schedule was going to be two weeks out. Since there had been a lot of positive reviews about this company, I pushed and got them to come a week later. After the first assessment he looked over the place, and started repairing our exterior vents but did not place any bait or traps in the attic. He left but did not schedule a follow up, and left it to me to have to follow up when I heard movement in the attic. After calling back to try and get him to return. He came back and left fruit to trace the path to the nest, and again, didn't schedule a follow up. After hearing a larger amount of movement in the attic, I noticed he'd missed one exterior vent and during that time more rats had crawled into our house. For the third time I had to get him to come back and insisted he finally put down traps. I am about to call for the fourth time to get him to return to finish the job. They may have good ratings, but my experience does not bear out. I feel I overpaid for the work, and as such working with them has made it more difficult than another company that was less overloaded and more proactive. Since I have already paid for a year's contract, and still have rats in my house, I would not hire them again.

On the day of my inspection Steve Marcione arrived a full fifteen minutes early raring to go. His inspection was very through. As a matter of fact the most complete inspection for pests and termites that we have ever received. He crawled all through the attic (which is very tight) covered every inch of the bottom of the house (it is on a raised foundation), all exterior areas and every surface of the inside. I was already aware of most infestation locations and he identified everyone of them plus a couple more. His evaluation results were documented in detail and professionally reported. He throughly explained what their process and products, warranties and services were and answered all of our safety conserns. The following day Paul and Raymond arrived early and took the time to throughly explain everything they were going to do plus ensuring that we understood where all infestations were. They worked very hard taking no breaks. Extra efforts were always made to insure that cleanliness was maintained in all areas. They were both very through and professional. We were very pleased with everything accomplished. The price seemed a little high but when considering the inconvenence of tenting our home (not to mention potential damages), finding temporary shelter and the warranty / follow on services it wasn't too bad. We would most defenitely recommend Pacific Coast Termite Inc.
Description of Work: Received at no charge a very indepth inspection of my home for dry rot and subterranean termites. Subsequently the following day the noted exterior and interior areas of infestation were throughly treated with Orange Oil and Boran solutions.

Ricardo the Field Rep did a very thorough inspection of our house and found evidence of dry wall and subterranean termites. We signed with Pacific Coast because we wanted a less toxic treatment and no tenting. The treated our house with orange oil and bora care for the dry wood termites. The odor from this was not bad at all. Unfortunately outside they had to drill holes in our cement and tile every foot around our house to inject the chemical for the subterranean ones. We also had to have some wood repair and replacement outside, which they also painted. They are more expensive than other companies but they completed all the work in one long day. Every worker who came on April 4, 2013 to work on our house was professional and hard working. So i would recommend them to anyone who wants to use a less toxic means of treating a house for termites. We haven't seen any come back yet, and hopefully they will be gone for a very long time! July 5, 2013 We are having our house painted and the painters discovered some other areas that needed wood repair before painting. Since we already had paid Pacific Coast Termite quite a bit for wood repair and replacement we are extremely disappointed that we have to have additional wood replaced.
Description of Work: Inspected our house and discovered dry wood and subterranean termites. We also needed some wood replacement and patching outside on the trim due to termite damage and rot.

I requested an estimate from this company as they treat without tenting. I do not have the paper work handy though I recall the estimator showed up far earlier than expected so thank goodness someone was home. He was polite and friendly, and immediately got to work. After a thorough look-see, the only damage and active termite infestation found was the one we knew about and called about. It required some eave wood removal and replacement as treating and just epoxying over the damage was not an option due to location and longevity of need. He extimated over $3,000 to treat the entire house as a preventive...as we all know, "its not IF you have termites, but WHEN", and then offered a discounted program at around $380/year for future annual inspections and free re-treats after the initial 2-year guarantee period. Though advertised, they would only do wood repair as an out-source and at DAILY rates over over $1,000/day when the work I needed done would only take a couple of hours. The estimator suggested I just find a handy man or restoration company to do the work at a fraction of the cost, which I did.

Branden came out to do some follow up for rat exclusion. He is fantastic. He takes pride in his work, he is professional and knows his stuff. Afterward, Fred and his crew installed TAP insulation. (TAP is a thermal insulation material that has air-filled cells or voids, or heat-reflective surfaces, which r***** the transfer of heat to cold. As well as acoustical insulation and Pest Control insulation.) The company's secretary called to schedule service. She called the day before as a reminder that they would be out the following day. Then, Fred also called prior to his arrival, he and his crew set up and cleaned up. Fred also takes pride in his work, is extremely professional and knowledgeable. Great experience with the company.

I called Pacific coast termite to re-inspect attic to make sure the termites did not come back. Pacific coast termite treated our attic a few years ago and I was happy with their service. I filled out the contact form on their website but nobody called back in a few days so I called. They were able to make an appointment quickly. Paul came out on time and inspected the attic. Termites were found and he gave me the treatment plan. Paul was very knowledgable about treatments. I wanted Orange oil again but he talked me into Alpine foam. He said it would be $350 to bring me up to date on our expired contract from 2010. Without the contract, treatment would be $1400. He went ahead and did the treatment right away. Afterward I was given a bill for $1050 instead of $350. After the disagreement and much talking Paul just left. Daniel King called me and after talking to him he agreed to the $350 without a contract, so it would be just for the treatment. Daniel was very polite and professional but the whole experience was too stressful for a repeat. I would give Daniel King an A for professionalism and Paul the technician a D for not writing up a quote and how the price difference was handled. What I learned from this company is to get a signed quote before work is done. UPDATE: Daniel King called again a few days after the incident and told me they would not charge us since it was such a big misunderstanding. He mentioned that he had talked to his boss and they agreed on it. I was willing to pay the $350, as I thought that was a fair price for the 30 minutes of work. Daniel was so professional and courteous about this problem that I would probably use them again, so I am changing my review. It wasn't because there was no charge, it was the very nice way Daniel talked to me about it. Usually people argue but he was nice! No A was given since I never received a report on the work done.

They did an outstanding job as well as kept the project on schedule and budget. The workers were knowledgeable and did a thorough job. They were on time and committed to a reasonable time frame to complete the work. They developed an initial estimate and started the job the same day. They treated the termites with a substance made with orange oil so we did not have to leave the property. There was a pleasant smell it appears to have work. So far we have not seen any termites and they were quite visible before the treatment. They did offer a warranty.

I heard about Pacific Termite on the radio and then checked Angie's List. They lived up to their great reputation. The free inspection was done by Matt Muth on 10/23 and was very through and explained in detail. Since I had many active termites I did need treatment and he also explained the option of using tenting companies, which he could recommend. He mentioned they were less expensive but I did not want tenting and chose Pacific Coast. He fully explained what would be done and this was followed up with an excellent written report on line. On 10/26 the two technicians, Chase and Roberto arrived right on time. They were very polite and professional. Again procedure was explained to me. I mentioned a wasp nest and they said they would also take down for me. It took a little over 3 hours and they left my place as clean as they found it. It was so great to have such a safe method and only left a slight pleasant orange smell. No side effects for me. A great experience overall including a 2 year warranty.
Description of Work: They did Orange oil treatment on porch area, exterior siding and interior sub-skirting for drywood termites. Used Bora-Care also. They then did preventative treatment for subterranean termites under home.

I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this company deserves it and members need to know. Their inspector used scare tactics and wanted to charge us a flat rate of $3500 to perform non itemized rate proofing of our home. Claimed we needed to reflash the entire second story roof. We had another company with an Angie's List A rating inspect the house which they did much more throughly , and they found just the areas that needed repair and only charged us $1100.00 Pacific Coast has another "D" review where they apparently did the same thing to another customer. I asked the company's field manager about that review, and he denied it existed so I sent it to him. He did not contact me again. Beware of pest control companies that try to scare you into overpaying .

I basically used the references but I think of all the people I have had out, I thought they did the most thorough inspection. They were here for 4 hours. It was $2500 for 2000 square foot and there was a 10% coupon. I was pleased with the whole process. They were here right on time and looked like they cleaned up well. At this point of time, I am very happy. I did some research on the price and I think it is competitive. I know I had to pay a little more than fumigation, but I was satisfied with the price. In terms of their quality, I will know a little more a year from now if my termites are back.

Pacific Coast Termite performed a thorough free inspection, took me through all the details of the work they do, showed me really ugly photos of termites, and convinced me of the value of going with their company as opposed to less expensive firms that tent the house, use environmentally unfriendly chemicals, and don't guarantee their work for the length of time that Pacific Coast does. As I have animals and did not want to move out, I opted to hire them, and they scheduled their service at a time convenient for me. They showed up on time, treated the house in just a few hours, looked and behaved both professionally and courteously, then took me around the property to show me the damage. They gave me estimates for repair, and I decided to have them fix the damage. They made another convenient appointment, showed up to fix the damage, and checked everything carefully. They even gave me tips on dealing with the tree in my front yard (which, while untroubled by termites, will have to come down soon). As they treated my attic, I asked them to check for rats, and they reported there was a problem and offered me rat exclusion at a very reasonable price. Once again, they made a convenient appointment, showed up on time, and handled sealing off my house from crawlspace to roof, installing nice, new mesh vents. Brandon the rat guy will be back from time to time to inspect the traps he left behind, at no extra cost. When I can afford the next go-round, I will hire them again to clear out the dirty insulation (rats make lousy tenants) and reinsulate the attic with new material. And when the tree comes down, they will come back to check closely the part of the roof they couldn't look at because of the tree at no extra charge. Everyone I dealt with was kindly, professional, reassuring, and treated me as if I were intelligent enough to appreciate what they were doing, and worked very well around my anxious dog. They also explained fascinating things about their work and the difference between the duties of different crew members and their qualifications. I also appreciated that their office sends an e-mail the day before with the full name of the inspector or serviceman so that they can identify themselves at the door, and you feel confident that you're letting the right person into your house. Nice, intelligent, hardworking men, the entire lot, and they left the house smelling like an orange popsicle. Plus, they were very happy to eat the lemon bars I baked for them.

They showed up on time. It was nice that I didn't have to leave the property along with my dog. I had to run 2 air purifiers because of the smell of the bora-care but it wasn't toxic. No one got sick afterwards. The office was nice enough to fax me the info on bara-care. I was concerned about bara-care because I never heard of it before and I had to do my own research to make sure it was safe since it was being put in the attic and the smell permeated the whole house but it was gone in two hours. All in all everything went as planned. I would use Pacific Coast Termite again after the 2 year warranty has expired.
Description of Work: They applied Bora-Care in the attic and orange oil in the detached garage as well as preventative post that were put in the ground. Two men were sent out to do the job and then later the inspector showed up. The two men were polite and answered as many questions as they could.
