Lucky Sully Chimney and Duct Cleaning

The tech, Brian, arrived right on time. He was professional and very courteous. He got right to work and cleaned and inspected both fireplaces, including patching a small hole in the gas line in the main fire place. He used a drone with a camera to inspect the top of the chimney and showed me the video from above. (very cool) He was fast and efficient - price was very reasonable and work is excellent - would definitely recommend!

The chimney and fireplace inspection showed that the firebox had a crack and the back walls were in bad shape. He removed the ugly glass doors the day of the inspection and the fireplace looked much better already. They looked at the gas line and noted that the valve was old and faulty. Brian ordered the fireplace parts, replaced the gas valve and ordered the glass rock and made an appointment to return the following Friday. The installation was done professionally and we were very pleased. That night, it was very windy and we realized that there was a problem with the chimney flue. We called them the next day, which was a Sunday, and they promptly came out and resolved the flue issue. This company is easily reachable, does professional work is very responsive! i would highly recommend them and will use them again.

Called Sully left message and he got back to me in about 20 min. This was last one of those i should have it done kind of things. We made an appointment to come over that day and sweep and inspect the chimney. The sweeping went fine but he caught a piece of what looked like honey cone from a bee hive. He went on to the roof to check the top and found that someone had sealed the top hole completely so no bees would return. But also now no smoke could escape out the top. Sully removed the cover and now everything is great. A big thanks to Sully for catching the problem and repairing it.

My inspection was performed by the owner of the company. He was right on time and performed a very thorough inspection of the fireplace in my new home. Since I had just purchased the home, I wanted the fireplace inspected by a certified professional before lighting it for the first time. After his inspection, he recommended a new cap to prevent animals and rain from penetrating, and he suggested that I replace the interior components of the fireplace as well since they were old and showing their wear. We went over models and prices, and i checked his prices against the internet. His prices were SLIGHTLY higher than what I could find online, but he pointed out that his prices include installation. Also, his logs were hand painted and of higher quality than what was available online. Knowing what I know now, I would HIGHLY recommend having this company install your new logs rather than doing it yourself. Their installer arrived with a complete setup to remove the old and install the new. Everything is removed down to the brick, a new gas line and grate are installed, and the logs are installed after the brick is vacuumed and brushed clean. My installer moved very efficiently, and it still took him two solid hours to complete the job. I honestly had no idea how labor intensive this install would be. Also, the manner in the logs and grate are installed matter. The final result that the installer achieved was far superior to anything I might have pulled off. I wound off with an elegant fireplace with new gas lines and a properly capped top. Basically this is a highly skilled, honest company.

I left a voicemail message stating that I was looking for someone who could repair my gas log fireplace as it would not light. The gas was shut-off when my home was tented for termites. When the gas was turned back on, I could not get the gas log to light. I received a call from Dan the following morning. He explained to me what to do, and walked me through relighting the pilot light in my fireplace. When I didn't understand he texted me a picture of the device from which the gas would emit that I needed to light. With the picture and his explanation I was able to relight the pilot light and all is well. All done at no cost! I would definitely call them and seek their services again.

Mr. Sullivan "Sully" arrived on time and did all the work himself. He was professional and completed the tasks efficiently and without any mess. We used a different log set in each fireplace and are very happy with both our choices. The gas logs look great and solve all the problems associated with burning wood (smoke odor and cleaning out ashes plus hauling and storing wood). We are very happy with the results and would gladly recommend Sully to anyone looking for fireplace services.

Sully was on time, professional and didn't do any extra work that wasn't needed. I will definitely call him back next year.

He showed up promptly. And he cleaned up after the job. It did not look like he was even here. It looked cleaner afterwards. I would use this service to do my vents but I replaced my ducts air conditioner and heater , so I won't need that kind of work for some time. Because of the unseasonable weather we have not used the chimney since the service.

Brian was very good at explaining what problems we had and how to resolve them. On his second visit, he performed everything that he outlined at his first visit. Everything was done quickly and efficiently. After the paint in the fireplaces dried, there were still some spots that were not black. I don't think that was because Brian didn't do a good job; I think you can't really tell how it would look until it dries. I called Lucky Sully a few days later and Brian came by the same day to touch up those spots. I would definitely use Lucky Sully again. The reason I gave a B for price is that the charge seems high for the amount of time and materials. However, I did not get any other proposals -- having a $100 charge for an inspection, rather than getting an estimate to do the work you ask for discourages this -- so I don't know what other companies charge.

We were very impressed by Lucky Sully. They responded right away by phone and came out within 24 hours of our initial call. And they came out on a Sunday! The representative was friendly but not too chatty - he got right to work. Laid out a cloth so as not to make a mess. He worked really fast and cleaned everything up well. We knew our chimney was borderline dangerous...it had never been cleaned after lots of use for 20+ years. He didnt scold us for waiting so long, but he said it was pretty bad. We were VERY impressed with his service, and gave him a well-deserved tip. Definitely recommend this company!

Brian was courteous, efficient, and did amazing work. He does such an efficient job of cleaning the chimney that there wasn't an ounce of soot anywhere. He was honest and didn't try to sell services that were not needed. The cost was very reasonable for exceptional work.

It went nicely. The provider showed up on time. After the estimate we gave the ok and he did the job. We were very pleased.

I hired Lucky Sully to clean my air ducts and sweep my chimney. Brian identified asbestos ducts on my main floor however and was unable to clean them for fear of releasing particles. He cleaned the chimney, climbed up on the roof and identified sealing issue and mortar joint deterioration, which he took video of and showed me. He also recommended other repairs to the fireplace. I asked him to replace the gas pipe. He was up front with all costs. I appreciated that he had all materials with him to complete all of the work. When he was done, he demonstrated the gas pipe performance and suggested finishing materials (sand, lava rock, etc). He then shared "after" video of the work he had done on the chimney. Work was completed in about 3 hours. Very happy with Lucky Sully Chimney Sweep. and would hire them again.

I am catching up on some reviews?.. I can?t remember if I found this service on Angie?s or a friend. Anyway, I have a tall three story house by the beach, and required two Chimney caps to be replaced. They were rusted out from the salt air, and water would drip down during rain. My property has limited access due to the proximity of the neighboring houses and the height. I believe Brian gave me a quote. He arrived with a small remote controlled drone to check out the condition ? I thought that was efficient for both of us. I ended up replacing both, and with some cosmetic upgrades. I wanted them powder coated with a local company I do business with, and they transported then for the process. It was a challenging job (from my perspective), and they were top notch. Clean indoors and out! The recommendation of an upgraded cap (hard to explain), combined with the powder coating color definitely added to the overall look of our house. Thanks ? Highly recommend

Brian did a great job. He was friendly, professional and the whole process was very clean. The fireplace had not been cleaned in at least 15 years and had build-up from Duraflame logs and was not ventilating properly. He also inspected via a high resolution camera on a drone (which I watched him perform and he shared the video with me) for any bird nesting or apparent damage, and fortunately there was none. He taught me some things during the process about getting the best ventilation results with my fireplace. Thanks Brian. I recommend them and will call again for any future needs.

This was my first Angie's List experience and I was greatly impressed. My initial call was returned quickly. Appointment set up was easy, and Brian was on-time. No hassles, and price was good. Lots of work needed on this 40 year old fireplace. Brian had everything he needed right in his vehicle. No need for return calls. Overall impression was a 10.

Brian showed up on time and was very professional, efficient, and friendly. After cleaning our chimney, Brian asked if we also would like our dryer vent cleaned, since our dryer was located in the center of our house and vented through the roof instead of directly through a wall to the outside. We had planned to have the dryer vent cleaned anywat, and this was very convenient, and cost effective - only charged half the normal fee since they were already on site. Worked out very well, and saved us money. No mess, no problems. Brian even switched the positions of our washer and dryer at my request. Another "cool" thing about this company - they have a drone with a camera to examine the roof and chimney top - didn't need to climb on our roof for that. Very pleased with this service/company.

Had Brian from Lucky Sully inspect, clean, and repair chimney today. Cannot say enough GOOD things about their service. Had separation cracks in the stucco between the chimney and the house after the La Habra earthquake. Was concerned that the chimney was damaged and unsound. Had Boston Brick & Stone out. They did an "inspection" and told us we needed a new chimney to the tune of $20,000! Paid $225 for that inspection. Had Lucky Sully give us a second opinion/inspection. Brian told us that the chimney needed to be cleaned before he could thoroughly inspect it for internal cracks. He cleaned our chimney, did a camera internal inspection from the top and bottom, checked the joists and strapping in the attic, checked the chimney for movement and solidity, etc. Boston Brick's inspection was nowhere near as thorough and they obviously did not clean it. Bottom line, we had a few minor cracks which Brian sealed with high-temp sealer. All is solid and total for all was $208. Use these guys!

Based on their reviews, I contacted Lucky Sully and was advised that Brian would drop by that afternoon. After calling to advise me of a needed time change for our appointment, Brian arrived. He was pleasant to work with, very knowledgeable and professional. He cleaned and inspected the chimney and advised me of the cost of the other repairs. I was pleasantly surprised that his cost was quite a bit less than a couple of other bids that I had received from providers without contractor's licenses or worker's compensation. Two days later, Brian returned on schedule. He completed the other repairs promptly and thoroughly. Doing business with Brian and the Lucky Sully company has been a real pleasure. I highly recommend them.
