Carlos Guzman was one of 6 contractors we interviewed to bid on the job. We narrowed the list to 3 contractors, and selected Carlos due to his professionalism and overall knowledge of what we wanted to accomplish. Carlos provided a prelim draft of what he was proposing for the plans...we had the opportunity to talk through the plans, and fine tune the ideas to exactly what we wanted for the project.. The job started on the date agreed, and Carlos was on the job site each day as he promised in the contract. Carlos and his crew were very professional, and kept the job site extremely clean. There was very little impact to our daily routine, as they were able to completely isolate the area of the house that was being remodeled and they did a good job keeping their work contained. As with any project, there were a few unexpected details that cropped up, but Carlos was very easy to work with and we talked through any hurdles. In many cases Carlos came up with a better solution then what was initially quoted without any increase in costs. I am not a big fan of remodel projects, but I must say this was probably one of the smoothest remodels that we have encountered in quite some time.

Martin was fantastic. He called back the same day that we called him, came out for an estimate and did the work the next day. His price was very fair for what was done- new sprinklers, bubblers where old ones were and an overall better system. I plan to use Martin again to lay sod on our lawn and to help landscape the backyard. Our front yard isn't very big and often times other contractors don't want to do the job, but Martin was fantastic and did the job with great care and detail. I can't say enough good things about him!

He did the cement work and it's already falling apart. He gave a year's warranty for the cement and when I called the CSLB, they informed me he was not licensed. He started the painting and sent out other men. His contractor's license mentions no employees which caused a risk if anyone was hurt. There is paint on the light fixtures, knobs, and flooring. I have spoken with him to void the rest of the contract on 9/6/2010. He was extremely unprofessional. He scribbled things out on the contract over and over again. I feel like he was taking advantage of an elderly woman.

OMG! I am the talk of the block!! Ok, my yard is!! So, water is so expensive ( and could be restricted soon) and much maintenance to keep (constant mowing). So, in an effort to be more environmentally consciousk, I weighed our options. If not "real" grass, then what....rocks? No way! I just couldn't think of any good alternative for such a dilemma. I started calling for bids on artifical turf. Wow! Expensive move!! Our alarm battery needed replacing-& put me back in contact with the installer-Guzman Contractors. So while the battery was re-installed, I asked if he did that kind of work....artifical turf. He gave me a bid...we scheduled the work-easy!! Too bad we hadn't done it BEFORE summer, I could of saved time and money in water bills & mowing in the heat!! MY FRONT & BACK LAWN IS BEAUTIFUL & MAINTENANCE FREE!!! I was so excited to turn off the sprinkler system and I want to donate the lawnmower to charity! The neighbor's have come over one-by-one, to ask us about the process and price. People, it took two days to install a new lawn-completely painless! Now we can enjoy our landscape, rather than it dictate our free time! What a great feature for re-sale, too! We're waiting on the real estate market to pick up. A great, big thank you to Guzman Contractor's now our home and landscaping is absolutely beautiful!!!

They were very professional and very fast.

It was great. We worked with the contractor the whole time for everything. We didn't have one bad day or any problems. It was amazing.

They are amazing and I?m really said they are leaving because I love them. They have been here every morning at seven for the last several months, they work on the weekends, and they work until they are done with the day rather than just leaving at three. I was terrified to start this project because of the horror stories I?ve heard about contractors but I?d do it all over again in a heartbeat with these guys. They did whatever we asked and they never said no if we came up with a new idea. They did a really nice job putting a cover over the patio so that it covers the bar-b-ques and it matches the rest of the house. I was home every day while they were here and they were always perfect gentlemen; they would even help me bring in my groceries when I got home. They cleaned up every day when they left and they never left a mess?the neighbors were in shock with how great everything worked. I just can?t say enough good things about them. I didn?t feel like a stranger in my own house and I was worried about that.

They were clean, neat and I had no problems with them. They were on time too which is big for me. Their price was fair. I would absolutely hire them again.

Guzman Contractors (Carlos Guzman) was one of 5 companies we had contacted to remodel our downstairs bathroom. Based on the positive reviews as well being the lowest estimate we hired them and are so glad we did! So happy with the final result! My husband and I had already gutted most of the bathroom and bought the tile and fixtures. Carlos installed a new tile shower with a recessed soap/shampoo area and floor. Retextured and patched drywall with an old world/tuscan style that I love. Installed toilet, vanity and plumbing fixtures. Painted twice (because I changed my mind). Very dependable. Showed up everyday as promised and he and his workers respected my home. Very very happy. I will be using this company for my future renovations that I am planning.

The process began with Carlos drawing our plans for a 500 square foot master suite addition. Carlos drew the plans which included creative suggestions that he had and happily made changes to accommodate for city requirements and codes when needed. It was important to us that we had a contractor who maintained a regular working schedule, not one who would be there two days and gone for 3. If he needed to miss we knew in advance when that would be. He gave us a beginning date and a timeline for completion and both goals were met. Equally important to craftsmanship is a feeling that the Contractor and his crew are friendly and professional, and indeed they were. They are incredibly trustworthy and have high work ethics. You never saw them standing around. The only break would be a short lunch time and then right back to work. The job site was left as tidy as possible on a daily basis, cleaning debris, hosing when needed and organizing construction materials at the end of the day. Carlos has his own dump truck and would make regular trips to the dump to get rid of debris. Carlos and crew are able to do it all; drawing plans, plumbing, electrical, tile, cabinetry, air conditioning and heating, framing, roofing, insulation, dry wall, stucco and painting both interior and exterior...EVERYTHING! All trades are covered, no subcontractors needed. Carlos has a very friendly and easy going manner. He is very knowledgeable and creative and offered great suggestions during the planning phase. Additionally he is very open to suggestions and design changes whenever possible throughout the project. He inspires confidence in the homeowner because he constantly communicates what is going in each phase of the project. Questions are swiftly answered and encouraged. I simply cannot say enough about this gentleman. Huge remodels can be daunting, but the entire process was exciting and pleasurable. I know, without hesitation, that we will have Carlos back for another project. It is difficult to find a contractor that has it all, and I m happy to say that Carlos does. We couldn't be more pleased.
