Guzman Contractors

We've used Guzman Contractors a few times and have had excellent experiences with each service. This job was a small one that only took a day and a half. Carlos installed a 6' x 4' window in our game room and finished it to match the existing interior and exterior molding. it looks perfect. Plus the room gets a ton more light and we have a beautiful view of the forest. As always, he was on time, reasonably priced, clean and quiet, and a pleasure to deal with. We will use him again. Highly recommended!

We had a great experience with Carlos and his crew. His rates are competitive, he showed up on time, communication was good, crew was polite, and they did high quality work. For our newly-acquired mountain house, they removed a sunroom and returned it to its original 3rd story deck (and reinforced the substructure). Remodeled the master bath. Built an office out of some extra storage space, and added a large window for light. And re-floored 50% of the house with luxury vinyl plank. The house looks fantastic! They also handled the plumbing and electric work, so it was a one-stop shop. We'll be using Guzman Contractors again in October. Highly recommended. Carlos is a pleasure to work with.

We had a great experience with the Guzman crew on our remodel. Our remodel included, raising our foundation, knocking out walls, installing supporting beams and relocating our kitchen. It was a big effort but during the whole process Carlos communicated very well on requirements and dates. Very helpful when you have a full time job and kids. More importantly Carlos and the crew was very timely and tidy. I can’t say it ever looked like was war zone when they finished their day to to day work. Very much appreciated as a home owner. Overall I’d recommend and hire him again for future projects.

Very well! Carlos is responsive, reliable, trustworthy, and does excellent work. He did work for us on three separate occasions. 1st time- when we first bought this home, we hired him to remodel our kitchen (all new flooring and cabinets, installed new appliances, fixtures, sink), back splash), two restrooms (built both walk-in showers and did the tiling, installed new floors, removed old cabinet, and removed and installed toilets, fixtures, etc), laundry room flooring, removed old cabinets), removed a wall to extend our closet, removed existing tile floors in several areas of the home, and installed the new tile, replaced the front door, installed a ceiling fan, removed an old sliding door, and painted all areas he did work in. 2nd time-built a closet in our office. 3rd time-built a wall to enclose a room, built a new laundry room, installed ceiling fans. He is our go to contractor and we highly recommend him.

Perfectly! When I need repairs on the first house, I spoke to several contractors. Carlos was specific about what he would do and the price was the best. He and his workers were always prompt, polite, and cleaned up afterwards. He is 100% trustworthy and I gladly gave him the key to my house to get work done when I wasn't home. When I moved to the new house and needed work done, I didn't even consider anyone else. And my dog loves him, too!

Carlos was very professional. He gave us an accurate estimate. His workers showed up on time and worked full days. His crew cleaned up after themselves. Carlos helped us with design questions and gave us options that would work for us and looked good. When we called him with questions he always got back to us in a timely manner.

I have used Carlos before on remodeling our bathrooms and was very pleased with his work and price. So I had him do this job, which was to install a walk-in tub and tank-less water heater, do all the plumbing and electrical, including adding all of the breakers and wiring. He also removed and hauled away the old items and materials. Carlos is very good and his prices are very fair, I would recommend him for any remodeling job that you might have.

I met him on Angie's List for granite counter tops. The thing that stood out was there professionalism and cost.

He was punctual. He had two additional workers with him during the job. His pricing was great! Very professional and helpful, he came with us to purchase the tile and gave us his professional opinion during the process.

I picked Carlos from Angie's List. He gave a fair quote. As we started the work, we found more damage. Carlos worked with me and my insurance company to get them to pay for about half of the work, as it was covered. His crew was professional and prompt. He did a great job being flexible with added work and with the schedule changes. I was happy with the work and with the price I paid. He has checked on my to see how the work is holding up and see if I have any questions. I will call him again when I have work that's too big for me to handle. Tom

They were not punctual because they had a previous job to do before us. They moved everything and set it up where we wanted it. They did not speak English well so they could use someone who speaks English.

We wanted to get the work done but they never contacted us to set an appointment. They were very fast on the quote but didn't schedule anything for us. My wife dealt with them. They gave us a good price and got the quote fast, but it was disappointing afterwards.

Carlos was the only contractor that responded to work with REMNANT pieces of granite. (They were big, but due to the fragility of the slabs, most contractors do not want to take the risk of the many potential problems.) He came and gave us a bid, and we set up a date. (This was actually stored at my home, but was to be installed at my place of business.) There was some confusion about where the slabs were, and where to meet, but cell phones worked it all out just fine. The first problem that came up, was the remnants were sun faded in an uneven manner, even though it was stored in shade. (Time got away from me, and it had been FIVE YEARS since this original slab was installed!) The part that was underneath, shaded, was all shiny, but the rest was very dull. Carlos' guys polished it all to dull, then added a sealer to make it all shine evenly. This was above the call of duty in my opinion. (I had no idea it was sun damaged until we got them out and cleaned up.) Next, there was a small crack developing in a strategic place that couldn't be avoided. They put a glue/epoxy that held it together. I was shocked at how nice it turned out. They did a great job. That said, if you are working with remnents, I recommend his team, but you need to realize there is risk involved, and be willing to bear the burden of that risk. (Use your remnents asap!)

Never knew what time he or one of his men would show up. Workers would show up without any identification.Then the next day had Lowe's insignia on their shirts. His workers couldn't get the plumbing to fit on the tub. My son had to come over and help them. The grout on floor has cracked and come out next to tub. Was told there wasn't a finished tile edge for the tile we picked out, after it was installed. I was not happy with the finished edge of the grout where it joins the wallboard. Very poorly done.

As other reviewers have stated, Carlos simply does not respond as he promises. Why would he bother to come to my house, take measurements, and promise an estimate within a few days. I don't think the job was too small(800 sq ft of tile installed plus a mosaic around the fireplace). I will say that he was polite and professional but why even offer to come out to my house if he is too busy to do the work or give an estimate. When I finally found someone to come out(friend of a relative) he was able to give me an estimate in about three minutes after taking the measurements. I'm 0-3 trying to find tile installers on this site. The first one never showed/called for an appointment, the second one never gave me the estimate he promised and tried to get me to buy tile way out in Corona even though I told him I already found some I liked and Carlos never returned the estimate he promised. I had to find one the old-fashioned way, by "word of mouth".

Called both phone numbers displayed on Angie's List for this contractor with a full description of work needed given to the answering service. Never got a call back.

I have chosen not to use the deal because I thought their quote was expensive. I didn’t think it was a good deal. I thought it was the same price, if not more, then other contractors. They were nice and professional but the price was not what I was looking for.

Overall, Carlos was a very nice. We just had a hard time connecting with him (most of it on our part) before the deal expired.

Carlos and his team arrived when expected. Around the front of our home, they took out the old railroad ties that were the planter boarder, and framed up a new boarder edge. Old rocks and landscaping was removed, including weed abatement. The new planter frame was built and poured. New plants, that we provided were planted. Landscape cloth was put down to minimize weed growth, and bark chips were added. In our backyard, Carlos removed an old wood-framed, brick step-down from our deck. He then framed and poured a new cement walkway down from the deck. It improved drainage flow, and the slope of the step-down was smoother. The team did a great job. Work was done on time and within budget.
