Pro Tech Appliance

It went well. Jason wasn't familiar with this type of dryer but he read the instructions (which were simple and straightforward) and it went well. He also had to install metal brackets to secure the washer and dryer to each other since they are different models and there were no stacking kits available. He was nearly an hour late but his other jobs took more time than scheduled and there was heavy traffic that day. He was professional but could have been a little more friendly.

Very responsive. Same day repair. Called when on way to confirm arrival. Very nice and professional.

Jason showed up as scheduled and on time. He diagnosed the issue and told me the scoop. He outlined the cost of repair, and it was more than the fridge is worth. He walked me through the steps to solve the problem at least temporarily. I was able to follow his steps, and the fridge is still good a month later. Pro tech only charged the diagnostic rate which was extra cheap because they give a discount if you book online, which I did. ...and I didn't have to remind him about the discount either. It was already accounted for. Great all around service. I will use this outfit for all of my future appliance repair needs.

Xavier was the technician who came to my house. He was very professional and did great work.

Responded to our email within two hours, and sent a technician out the same day, in the two hour window we chose. Noah was right on time, diagnosed the problem and fixed the machine. Prompt, courteous, and efficient. We are very satisfied.

Excellent response. I received a call within minutes of contacting them. They set an appointment within a couple of hours. Serviceman came when he said he would and did a great job. I'd call them again.

My service required 3 visits: 1st one: diagnose and order the part; 2nd one: came with part, but was shipped incorrect part from factory; 3rd one: installed correct part. All three visits were punctual and courteous.

Jason was very professional and honest. Did everything we agreed to yet discounted his original quote due to other concerns with the appliance unrelated to the repair.

I called Pro-Tech Appliance and had a callback within one hour. A technician was at the house same day and diagnosed the problem. The parts were ordered and the owner, Jason came out two days later to complete the repair. He was punctual, efficient and very helpful. We felt that he gave us an honest opinion regarding repairing an older appliance. We will definitely use this company again. .

We have a Sear oven which has been a problem from day one. Initially repairs were done under warranty but every time we used it we still could smell gas. And it got worse over time to the point that wax paper in the oven would catch on fire and the gas would ignite with an explosion that would open the door. And the smell of gas got worse and worse. BTW, Sears told us that 'you always smell some gas, that is normal, don't worry' But smelling it on the other side of the house? Really? I looked on Angies list for an A graded appliance repair shop that was close by and found Pro Tech Appliance. Filled the form on their website in and I had Jason on the phone within the our. Later that day one of their technicians showed up and diagnosed the problem to a faulty safety valve which is supposed to cut off the gas when it doesn't ignite. He didn't have one with him but ordered a valve for us. Two days later he stopped by to replace the valve. Now when we use the oven we smell no gas, I mean absolutely nothing! And no explosions anymore either. We will use Pro Tech Appliance next time that we have an issue with one of our appliances. These guys are professional, courteous and on time. And they always tell you when they will arrive and keep you updated in case they run late.

Problem with spin cycle on our old washer. After making contact with Protech, a technician was at our door well within an hour! Technician was knowledgeable and friendly. He was able to determine the problem and provide accurate advice how to correct it. He did a thorough check of the washer to see of there were any mechanical problems we should attend to. There were none. Great customer service and a very reasonable service charge. Will definitely reach out to again if we have appliance problems.

I first went to Angie's List and made a request for the date of service, but then since it was close to the week-end I called him directly and we made the appointment right then over the phone for Friday. Friday came and he arrived right on time ... I liked how he worked and how he was around me since he was very sociable and easy to be with during this time, which is something which I think is very important when we have someone coming into our homes. He carried out the work very quickly and easily, taking all of the food out of the freezer first and placing everything on the kitchen counter. He defrosted the frozen water - ice - in the freezer - which was about two inches thick - with a steam defroster. He also mentioned that using a hair dryer, as I had originally planned to do, would not have been a good idea since the hot air from it would likely melt the plastic in the freezer ... glad that I didn't do it! After about 40 minutes he had everything defrosted and starting to put back together again. When he was finished getting everything together - and looking behind the refrigerator to make sure that everything was all right there, he slid the refrigerator back into place and put all of the food back where it had originally been, saying that we should be careful not to cover the openings to the condenser which is on the back bottom part of the freezer, since this would not let the cold air move through the freezer the way that it should. After he had completed his job he showed me a small three inch piece of plastic, which must have come from a turkey or chicken wrapping, which possibly had been torn off and made its way to the drain where it blocked the water from going down the drain and thus caused the water/ice to build up each time the freezer defrosted, which he said cycled about every four hours. Good to know ... not to let any pieces of thin plastic bag parts stay in the freezer or this could happen to you, too! Altogether, an exceptionally easy and interesting time to watch him work ... he is very knowledgeable and he doesn't mind our asking him questions or watching him work - he actually said that it makes his time more enjoyable since it can be kind of lonely working by himself for so many hours. He is the kind of person who seems to be at easy with people and is very likeable at the same time. I will definitely use him again! As an addendum, the refrigerator didn't get cold enough the first night after he left, so I called him and he returned right away and fixed the problem, which was that somehow the fan wasn't working right, so he corrected whatever it was that caused it not to work ... and now we have had everything working since then. Didn't take long this time ... only about 15 minutes. And he wasn't in a hurry this time, either ... very pleasant!

It was fine. We did have to pay extra for parts - for a heating coil or something. The $99 only covered labor. He really didn't do much. He was there for half an hour. He had to order the part. It took about a week for that to come in and then it took a while for him to schedule it. It took about a week and a half for it to be completed. The worker was okay. I wouldn't say that he was overly friendly. He did his work. I asked him questions. He gave me one word answers and that was about it. There was no elaboration or anything like that of what really was wrong with it and what was needed to get done. He just basically said, "This refrigerator is eight years old. It will start breaking down. You might want to consider just getting a new one." He said, "Yeah. We can fix it. But, then you're going to have to pay for labor charges and more parts and it's going to continue to break." It wasn't very encouraging. So we ended up just getting another refrigerator.

Called Pro Tech on Friday afternoon. Promised a tech out Saturday between 11 am to 1 pm. Right on time, arrived a little before 11:30 am and was out of here by 11:50 am. Seems like a lot of money for merely 15 min of actual labor; but I was happy to have my dryer back in good shape. Tech also gave me a good tip about not washing shaggy rugs or latex back rugs in the washer as the backing breaks down and clogs the water pump. Good advice and probably a money saver, too.

Jason was professional and knowledgeable and I would recommend him highly. His price was less than other bids I received. His service is computerized which makes invoicing easy. He got the part and showed up when he said he would. Great job!

Straight forward, professional and on time. First visit, I told him the what failed, he ran a quick test and explained what failed and why. He ordered the part right then and scheduled return visit the following day. He arrived at specified time, removed/replaced faulty valve, and ran a successful test. Both visits in total was less than an hour. Very efficient.

Discovered that the appliance is still covered by warranty.

They did an outstanding job! I found them to be fairly priced, professional, prompt, and even offered some advice on my washer that was making noises as they repaired my oven. Will definitely hire them for all future appliance issues.

Frustrated with lack of communication/contact. Felt as though he left me hanging. I elected to go with another Angie's list appliance repair and they exceeded all my expectations.

Messaged them on 4/21. They didn't respond for 2 days, but messaged back on 4/23 that they could send someone out that day. I responded that would be great. Did not hear from them again for two days, when he called and said he "wanted to make sure we got our machine serviced."

Excellent service. Analyzed problem with our clothes dryer and recommended repair. Guaranteed results with warranty. Also diagnosed problem with dishwasher not cleaning the dishes as good as wanted. Thoroughly cleaned the dishwasher, including the sump pump, at minimal charge. I especially appreciate his policy to absorb the service call charge if work was performed.

It went great. Jason showed up in the time frame window that was given. The final price was even a little less then originally quoted. I will definitely use Pro Tech again in the future and would have no problem recommending them. Great service, very fair price.

We set up an appointment to have our refrigerator repaired for April 21, 2015 between 3pm and 5pm. The person asked for our telephone numbers (2) and our e-mail address, which we provided. We also asked if he was going to be later than 4:00 to give us a call or e-mail, so we could push our evening schedule out to enable the repair person plenty of time to make any repairs. The repair person never showed. They never called, nor e-mailed. My wife took off work to facilitate the repairman's schedule and, in addition to dealing with even more rotting food, she must take more time off of work for another company (hopefully more competent, I wouldn't trust these guys ever again) to come out and repair the refrigerator. If this company gets a good rating on Angie's list, it may be time for us to re-evaluate our subscription to Angie's List. UPDATE: Owner of the company called and apologized after reading the review. He came out and evaluated the refrigerator ($800 repair estimate to replace the compressor, so we passed and just bought a new refrigerator) and they didn't charge us for the visit.

Completed diagnostic. Couldn't replicate issue and we decided not to spend the $ to replace the control board if it ran fine in the diagnostic. He gave us a 30 day warranty so the cost of the diagnostic could be applied toward any future needed repairs.
