Description of Work: I had a leak but it turned out it was just a loose connection. I asked how much I owed and he said nothing. That was an unexpected surprise!! Coincidentally, a few days later I saw an article in the Modesto Bee about a woman on a fixed income and a group of the workers from Martin's Plumbing took their free time to repair her plumbing problem. I love to read about thoughtful gestures that people do for others.

Description of Work: Everything went very well. I contacted Martin Plumbing at approximately 9:30PM the night before via the cell number provided in their listing, the owner answered. I explained that I had come home to a leaking water heater. They suggested that I cut off the water supply until they could get there. I explained that I am disabled and was unable to reach the shutoff valve. | |Two employees arrived first thing the next morning. They removed my old water heater and installed the replacement. They also went above and beyond by modifying the new installation so that I can now reach the shutoff valve. I would like to thank them very much for making this needed modification and apologize for taking so long to write this review.

Description of Work: Jay replaced the homeowner water shut off. The original call was to have someone come out & assess the job & quote it. Then, if we agreed on the price and time, do repair. This was a needed but not yet emergency repair. Jay quoted money and estimated time, we agreed and he went to work. I pleased from my initial call (I believe I spoke with Rose to set appointment) through the completion of the job. Not that I want to need them again, but I would happily use Martin Plumbing again.

Description of Work: The main sewer line that ran through my back yard had to be replaced. It was a big job, requiring removal of concrete from my back patio. The old clay pipe was still there from the 50's, and it had degraded and taken damage from tree roots. | |Their estimate was good, everyone was very professional, and it looks like a quality job. They did a good job putting my patio back together (new concrete, replacing bricks, etc). | |Once everything was dug up and they reviewed the damage, they saw that other sections would need replacing, which was not part of the original estimate. They were prompt in letting me know it would cost a little more, and kept the cost down as much as possible. | |The job took longer than I thought, though I had mentioned that I wasn't in a hurry, so it didn't matter to me. It also did not affect the price. | |I was happy with their service, and would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Came out gave an estimate, then came to do the job. Did not read the directions on the part to be installed, went and installed it on galvanized pipe which was totally wrong. My husband tried to tell him he was putting it in wrong. Had to call them and explain what needed to be done, he came back and still did not read the directions and still hooked up the equipment wrong. So now I am going to have to do it myself because I do not want him back in my house. The other equipment was installed but my husband had to tell him he had to move it off the porch. | | | |

Description of Work: After delaying calling anyone, I finally called Matin's because of their review on Angie's List. I called and left a message. The call was returned the same afternoon and they wanted to come the next morning at 9am. I asked them to wait until 10! I had three areas of possible small tasks, leaking faucet, new flapper for toilet and jammed garbage disposal. As it turned out all were more complicated, but I was shown the problems and agreed that they be fixed. The bathroom faucets were original to the 1971 house. The faucet was to be replaced but once he started working everything to the wall crumbled with age. The disposal needed replaced. He left briefly to get the parts needed and completed everything in the one day. Very friendly, professional and explained what he was doing and why it was necessary. He took the tank off and replaced other parts with the flapper but did not charge me for the parts or time because it was not in his original quote. I would hire again without hesitation.

Description of Work: They removed my old water heater,installed a new tankless water heater,installed a water conditioning unit,and repaired a rusted out main water line.The were on time,effecient and professional workers.Water line damage did not show itself until water to the house was turned back on after installation of the heater and conditioner. They promptly dug out the area and we could see what was wrong.They then repaired it at my request for a more than fair price. All this was done in a 6 hour period of time.

Description of Work: Installed new 40 gal hot water heater, including new plumbing going outside house in case of overheating discharge, as required by city code. And replaced kitchen faucet. Tom Tye is the person we used and will ask for in the future. Tom is polite, dependable, professional, and experienced.

Description of Work: I have used them 3 times over the last 2 years. First, to replace a garbage disposal & change out several sink faucets. Second, to repair a broken pipe in the back yard during some minor renovation. And third, to fix a bathtub leak. Their response time is always excellent. There was some variation in quality of the work, depending on who came out, but it was never less than competent. And in the case of the broken pipe, it went over and beyond. The prices seemed to have risen over the time we've used them so we're keeping an eye on that.

Description of Work: Replaced shower handle and "guts". Went well. Water was off for less time than expected. Cleaned up. And gave advice on diy repair of bathroom sink. Very happy.
