two months ago Carlos and his team removed old travertine from around the fireplace and installed porcelain tiles. it is beautiful. so i called him again to install the kitchen backsplash. i was so happy he made time during this very busy season to help me. again- very impressed with the outcome. both times he charged a reasonable price and his crew carried out the job accurately. they always show up on time and they are very efficient. they are neat while they work and leave the space clean after they finish. i am extremely satisfied and cannot wait till they return to work on my bathrooms.

Without a doubt the best contractor service my wife and I ever had. We set out to replace the downstairs laminate/tile flooring with hardwood looking porcelain tile, including a full rip-out and remodel of our kitchen. Carlos (the owner) and his workers arrived promptly on time everyday. He was extremely flexible in scheduling and kept the costs down based on the limited budget my wife and I had to work with. CBEK replaced the entire downstairs flooring (approximately 1000 square feet) in just one week. The countertop and backsplash were completed in approximately one week as well. The quality of the work was amazing! He provided my wife and I ideas to improve the look of our tile work. My only minor criticism was that his guys weren't real diligent in cleaning up at the end of the day. Although after mentioning it Carlos, we never had that problem again. That, however, wouldn't stop me from using them again. Looking forward to having CBEK doing our upstairs bathrooms next. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CBEK TILE!

Carlos and his workers did a great job. They were unbelievably fast and still did extremely careful work. They re-tiled the shower and face of the tub and the entire floor, along with demo of the old tile, disposal, and reinstallation of the fixtures in three and a half days. The only thing that slowed them down was that I was waiting on tiles that I had ordered to come in. It was the first time I ever had contractors waiting for me! Great nice guys who do a killer job in practically no time at all.

Carlos was very flexible with our time frame. We had several delays and he always rolled with them. Then we asked him to come on a specific day which was tough for him but he worked it out. His son installed the tile and it looks beautiful. We even had a problem where they ran out of tile and his son went to the manufacturer which was quite a ways away and got the extra tile that night and came back and installed it. We are very happy with the results.

Carlos and his crew were polite and professional. They did a marvelous job.

We hired Carlos a second time after we bought the home, this time to do the fireplace finishing. We had an old brick finish fireplace which was not appealing to our living room. Carlos came by and showed us some pictures on his iPad and we like one. He finished the job in 3 days and now the fireplace looks gorgeous. We would hire him again. He is very honest and pleasant to work with.

Carlos and his crew completely transformed my bathroom and kitchen - with amazing speed, professionalism, and absolute skill. The tiled floor is smooth; the grout lines are thin and straight. I was kept informed whenever something unplanned for came up. I?m new to the world of remodeling, so I know extra patience and handholding went into working with me. Carlos coordinated with the plumber and was able to match a quote I had received for the countertop (material and labor). I?m so happy I followed Carlos?s suggestion to visit Silver Stone and Tile. With Sergio?s talented eye, we picked out gorgeous tiles and mosiac for the shower and travertine for the floors. I relied heavily on Carlos's experience and knowledge of current trends and options I had available. A few of my neighbors commented on how friendly the crew was. I can?t rave enough about my experience with this gifted team.

Carlos (owner) gave wonderful advice regarding the tiles. The installation was seamless, quick, and thoroughly professional. Everything looks beautiful. I couldn't ask for anything more. In fact, we will be using C-BEK for granite counter tops in the bathrooms, as well as tile flooring in the kitchen and elsewhere. His work is flawless. You can count on Carlos to do the best job!

The unthinkable and unexpected happened. Our house burned down due to an electrical fire in the attic. C-Beck was close to finishing the bathrooms. Their tools were still in the house, but were covered with several feet of debris from the fallen ceiling. We were in shock, grief and were receiving calls from adjusters, dire detectives and insurance companies. What impressed us about C-Beck was their willingness to work with us financially while understanding the stress we were under. Carlos, Carlos Jr, and Patricia came to our house not only to discuss finances, but to ask if there was anything they could do to help us. Their kindness was overwhelming. Their tools are still in our rental, which was determined to have asbestos; so it will take a couple weeks to properly clean it up. We would work with C-Beck again in an instant. In fact we have already asked them if they would again tile the bathrooms when we start reconstruction. As far as we're concerned, we have adopted them as part of our family and hope to have a long relationship with them even after their work is completed. Any one who works with C-Beck is lucky to have them.

Carlos Martinez and his crew not only provided exceptional work, but were trustworthy, friendly, courteous, timely, and seemed to genuinely care about my situation... i highly recommend Carlos to the Angie's list community and i would absolutely use him again.... I felt completely comfortable with him, his crew, and his work... It's is far too rare to find this quality of a craftsmen with a caring disposition!

Carlos and his crew are terrific. I went to the tile store in North Hollywood, picked out everything with a very knowledgable worker. Carlos and his guys showed up on time and did impeccable tile work. Made a very special beautiful quartz countertop for me. I didn't want to spend money on new cabinets and he assured me that I could keep the ikea cabinets I have. When they removed them to put down the floor they fell apart a little and he immediately assured me that they could be re-enforced. they did a very nice job. They were pretty detail oriented. When I wanted a few minor items re-done, like a little grout work, he returned after the job was done and fixed anything I needed. A criticism I have is that one of his tiling guys was a little messy with his clean up. But once I complained to Carlos he made sure it didn't happen again. Also, sometimes it would take Carlos a little long to return an email or phone call, but it was because he was very busy. Ultimately that's a good thing!

The bid provided far exceeded market norms and the bids of other professional contractors. For example, a bid to install 24 sq. ft. of 12" X 12" granite tile flooring was quoted at $1,300.00. This represents a sq. ft. cost of nearly $55, the average rate is about $8 with the rarely quoted top rate being about $18 per square foot. A bid by another very experienced and competent professional quoted the job at $5 per sq. ft. for the small job. That's $200 compared to $1,300. Every contractor has the privilege of charging what he may for the work he provides, but the bid I receive was extremely overpriced as illustrated.. When I contacted this contractor and advised him that he was welcome to rebid the job, he failed to respond.

He came out on a Thursday night to give us an estimate and was able to do the job the next day. He did a terrific job, went the extra mile by using a sealant in the grout. Had to custom the end pieces and it looks terrific. He left the house clean as well. We would definitely use him again.

Carlos, his son, and crew are very professional and do a wonderful job. They know their trades, listen - they LISTEN - and explain to their clients, and also offer their expertise and design sense when first discussing the project. The bid was fair and work was completed within the time frame that was agreed upon (bid was for supplies & labor, not including tile, tub, fixtures 7 plaster work). If obstacles or concerns came up, they were addressed, but did not up the initial bid. We even purchased our tile from his wife's store which we were not pressured into by any stretch. They are bonded, licensed and insured and refer great subs for plumbing, plaster etc. Carlos' business is growing, so he could not be present during all of the project, but his crew is on payroll (not day laborers) and all know their trade very well. He was always available for calls or drop-ins if necessary when he wasn't on site. We love the end result & trust that it will last us a very long time. We could not be happier.

The owner, Carlos, showed up on time to take measurements and was very pleasant. He quickly got back to me within a few days with the estimate. His estimate included details of what he was going to do. Other estimates came in that were much higher than Carlos so I chose him for that reason and for the fact that his reviews were very positive and the no-nonsense way he presented himself and his service. He was very straight forward and without the cheeziness of being "salesy" as some of the other contractors were. After the tear out of the old shower Carlos discovered some issues that need attention such as: pieces of the shower entry framing had extensive termite damage and would need replacing; the shower floor was weak and needed reinforcing; the shower spout was lower than standard showers; the drain pip was loose and needed repair; and the light switch to the bathroom had a wire that was not properly shielded with a metal plate. Upon finding these issues, Carlos consulted with me as to my options. I was able to decide on a game plan to correct all of the above issues. Luckily, C-bek crew was able to handle quickly and properly correcting the issues. The best part is that the fee Carlos charged was very small for what they had to do. We provided the tile and Carlos' tiling team went to work. This was a subway tile installation and they managed to get it done in a week which is surprising given how cramped this small bathroom and shower is. Carlos and his team were professional the entire time and I had no problem letting them work freely without looking over their shoulder. They cleaned up their mess and their tools and left me with a brand new shower. I'm happy I found C-bek Tile and would definitely hire Carlos and his team again. I highly recommend them.

Install went great. Very nice team of guys. Their office went above and beyond by searching out slate that matched existing tiles we had.

The installation job was done very professionally. The crew that worked in my home were superb individuals and everyone was truly very nice. The personalities of the men in his crew were terrific and I enjoyed being there while they worked. The crew was very attentive to all my requests and we worked together to achieve a result that pleases me to no end. They ripped out the old sheet vinyl flooring in 4 rooms and replaced those floors with 12 inch white porcelain tile. In the two bathrooms the design was the kind that requires a cut at the four corners of each tile so as to have a 2 inch black tile "dotting" the floor. It is really beautiful and the work was done expertly. The kitchen and entry area were more complex as the design uses the same 12 inch tiles and features a border or stripe inset from the walls. Unfortunately when I went to choose the materials for this border or stripe, the only color schemes available were all brown in color and I didn't want to pay for a custom run of tile for my installation. So I found a natural stone tile with a pattern that would work with my installation. We used that tile and it turned out beautifully. However, A few days before the installation was to start, I realized that something was missing from my design idea. I returned to the tile shop and found some material that could be used to create the "look" I had in my mind's eye. Carlos was very accomodating to this last minute change and the design turned out to work perfectly for my taste and desire. Even with this spur of the moment change Carlos did not alter the price of his estimate. The crew completed the job on time and the result is wonderful. They left my home and the work areas around it clean and unsullied.

Carlos responded promptly to my inquiry and made an appointment to see our kitchen.The job was challenging because of our built in cabinets and a floor that needed leveling. Carlos appeared very knowledgeable and professional. He took measurements and explained what the job entailed and the number of days that it would take to complete it. His estimate included new subflooring, but demolition of the existing tile revealed subflooring that was intact. Consequently Carlos was fair enough to reduce the cost of the job. His installers were competent and congenial, and we were very pleased with our new floor. I provided my own tile (Carlos picked it up), but I understand that Carlos also has a wide selection of tile at his shop. Carlos came to our house upon completion of the work to insure that his installers had finsished the job to his standard. I would recommend him with confidence.

I was very impressed with their skill in many areas of the remodeling process. I would certainly use them again!

Work was started on time and completed on time at the cost that was originally quoted. They cleaned up after the work was done so you wouldn't know they were there. The final result is beautiful.

Placed required underlay to smooth out floor, cut tile into a beautiful pattern and grouted with a matching color. Room looks wonderful. Carlos and his crew were very hardworking and polite as was Patricia, the store manager. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again myself, or recommend their services to anyone else.

Is there an A+ rating? First of all, Carlos and Carlos Jr. and their assistant (who's name I unfortunately did not get) do pristine and professional and beautiful work. My wife is an architect by background and she kept commenting on how clean the lines of the backsplash were and how precise the workmanship was. But to me, what really sets this company apart was the little intangibles. First a little background. In completing (or trying to complete) a renovation in Venice, we've had every horror story about contractors and subs you can think of, from completely unprofessional contractors calling my wife a lier to plumbers coming six hours late to...you name it. C-Bek is the TOTAL opposite of that. Carlos Sr. came to do the estimate the first day. Before he came into the house he put on those booties that doctors wear in the OR to protect the floors from his shoes! Other workers we've had in the house haven't even protected the floors with paper and we have multiple scratches on new hardwood floors less than a few months old. Then Carlos Jr. and his partner came to install the backsplash the next day. They showed up EXACTLY when they said they would, and were extremely courteous (we have a 7 month old baby) and professional, asking my wife many questions at each step along the way and making suggestions as to edge material, grout, etc. all of which turned out to be right on. The backsplash they installed looks absolutely amazing and is clearly the work of a craftsman (or craftsmen). We love it They then looked at our guest bath which had tile work that had been "finished" by our former contractors. Turns out they did a lot wrong and didn't even put the tile over the shower spout. Again, C-Bek did amazing work, this time working with the crap job that already was there and trying to salvage as much as they could and mesh their work with that and make it look like it was done by one crew. All in all we are beyond pleased with Carlos (x2) and his crew and company. I would not hesitate for one second to recommend these guys, and in fact already am telling everyone who will listen. A rarity in the construction business. Oh, and did I mention that C-Bek's bid was actually the most reasonable for the work we had done of anyone we checked with. Imagine that. A wonderful experience.

,We wanted stone floors but thought they were too expensive. So we had talked to another flooring store and gotten an estimate for installing a mexican style tile. We also talked to Carlos who gave us an estimate for installation of tile. We were very surprised that Carlos' bid was more than $6,000 lower than another flooring store recommended by Angie's list. And after talking to Carlos, we knew that he had far greater experience installing tile and stone than the other vendor. With the lower installation price, we were able to afford a more expensive flooring material, a travertine stone. Carlos said he could finish the job in about 5 days. We were skeptical, because the old floors had to be removed and there was a lot of heavy furniture, but we decided to go ahead The project went better than any home improvement project I've ever done (and I've done many others). Carlos and his crew showed up early in the morning, worked very hard but carefully, and were very neat and careful about cleaning up. They were all very pleasant to work with and did an amazing job of moving and temporarily storing the furniture. They finished in about 4 1/2 days, as promised, and worked through the weekend to complete the work. The new floor has completely transformed our house, abd we feel our home is vastly more beautiful than ever before.

Carlos (owner) came out to the house for the estimate. He was punctual and his pricing was very reasonable. He sent a quote and invited us down to his tile and stone store in North Hollywood. We went down to the store and selected the tile we wanted and ordered it from his wife (who generally runs the store). They ordered the tile and then Carlos came out a couple of days later with a couple of guys. We talked again about how we were going to install the tile and he then let his guys to to work. They disconnected the fridge and dishwasher and then tore up the linoleum flooring. After finishing the demolition, they put down the membrane then came back the next day and finished most of the tiling. The tile we selected wasn't exactly flat, but they installed it very well. The joints were very even and very level, which is saying quite a lot because our concrete slab isn't. I had ordered a box more than Carlos had recommended and had tile left over. Because of this, I decided to have C-bek install it in another bathroom. There was a bit of miscommunication and they ripped up the linoleum in the wrong bathroom. Things happen. We talked to Carlos and he made us a great deal on the tile for the additional bathroom. We went down to the store and picked out some really nice tile. They came out the next morning and finished all the work All of it was very professionally done. As it turns out I'm very glad that the extra bathroom was done. I will certainly consider Carlos when we do our major master bath / shower / tub redesign.
