Carlos and his team were excellent from start to finish. We called Carlos for an estimate for complete 1 Kitchen and 2.5 bath re-modelling project. He turned up on time and noted down everything we wanted to do. He gave us an estimate that was very competitive. As we were very comfortable in the way he worked with us during the estimation, we gave him the project. The one thing we liked about him was honesty and being upfront about everything. He worked with us at every step of the project. We went to his store in the Valley managed by his wife Patricia. She was also very patient and pleasant in helping us chose the right tile materials. Carlos drove us to Granite store and helped us chose the right one for our counter-tops from 100s of options. After signing the contract he started the work as promised. As the work progressed we had a made some changes to the project and Carlos had no problem in accommodating them. Carlos and his team were able to complete the work on time as promised. Overall the quality of work was excellent. His entire team were pleasant to work with. He also works well to accommodate the schedule of your other contractors, if any. Carlos is a very busy man. So don't wait. Pick up your phone immediately to get your work started and completed on time.

The experience overall was great! We had a dishwasher installed, but the only way to get it in was to break up the tile around the space. This left us with ten tiles or so missing... keep in mind the tile was discontinued since this house is 1926 built. Carlos came by and told us he could get it done and find the same tile or extremely close to match. Despite all the big jobs out there, he gave me his time and helped me get this fixed ..and quickly! The tile looks superb and I will definitely keep them in mind for future jobs.

They did an amazing job. We picked the tile, they picked the group and metal edging. Carlos has a great eye for tile. The job was done very professionally. They took the time to do everything just right. I would use C-Bek again in a heartbeat. Choose them. You won't be disappointed.

We bought a condo in Northridge and wanted to do a major remodel. This included the kitchen and master bath. We did the demolition ourselves and then subcontracted jobs for electrical, plumbing, tile, cabinets, countertops, and drywall. We shopped around for a tile installer and got three bids. C-Beck impressed us the most, not only for a good price but also for the portfolio of previous jobs and for the reviews on Angie's list. Carlos is the owner of C-Bek. He got good reviews from others. We hired Carlos and his crew to do all tile work. We are extremely happy with their performance. They were punctual. They did excellent work. They had a great attitude. Carlos even threw in a few extras at no cost. When we needed someone to do drywall patching and to make the ceilings smooth, Carlos recommended someone. William did a great job on the drywall. His price was lower than others, but the job was as good as it could be. At the request of Carlos, William even did some extra work at no cost to us. So we would highly recommend Carlos and his company, C-Bek, to others. They are fair, have integrity, and do good work. You will be happy with the result if you hire them.

Carlos Martinez who is the owner of C-Bek Tile and Stone was very professional. His estimate was very reasonable and his work is very good. We had such an ugly kitchen and when he was done with it it just looks fantastic. My husband and I both felt very comfortable with him and he was very helpful in explaining the entire process that would be involved in doing this job. We went to C-Bek store in North Hollywood and they have a really nice selection of flooring and countertop and backsplashes to choose from. Patricia (Carlos' wife) is the person who runs the store and she was very helpful while we were there.The crew was very professional and hard working. When Carlos, Sr. was not at our job his son Carlos was there. Carlos, Jr. was very professional and polite. The crew was on time everyday and everything went pretty smoothly. As a first timer with remodeling I felt that everything moved along nicely. I would definitely recommend C-Bek TIle & Stone Design. We will definitely use C-Bek again for any future tile or stonewear needs.

Carlos and his crew did a gorgeous job and were a delight to work with. They were neat, professional, FAST, and amazingly meticulous considering that I told them up front I wanted the job to look "like it was aged, like it was always there." They started by pressure washing all of the areas to be tiled and then spent all the time necessary to make sure they understood the design and my objectives. The results are beautiful and everything I'd hoped for, and the price was very reasonable and the lowest of three bids we got for the job. I should point out that Carlos also accommodated my last minute design changes, including laying a border of broken tiles salvaged from my old kitchen (I loved them and have been hoarding them for years trying to find some place to re-incorporate them into my home)! They also laid a couple of brick steps at an upper used brick patio for me, as a favor! The attached pictures speak for themselves. My husband and I could not be happier with the experience and the results.

I would never use any other tile company. Carlos was not only professional, but helpful, patient, on time, precise, creative and well priced. It took a while for me to make a decision on what to do with the 3 bathrooms and two fireplaces that needed to be redone completely. Additionally, it took more time to have other subs finish so that Carlos could do his "magic". He never complained. This company was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend C Bek Tile.

I called Carlos for an estimate to tile a carpeted landing and 2 staircases in my house. He showed up on time and was very courteous. He delivered an estimate within 24 hours and just happened to be beated out by another bidder--but just by a little. Overall I thought he would've done great work and would consider using him again in future.

From start to finish the job went great. Carlos called me back promptly; set up and appointment and installed the tile within a week. I will definitely use his services again.

Carlos at C-Bec tile was very responsive and does very high quality work. He arrived on time to review and prepare his bid. He helped us with the design and picking out the tile used for the project. He gave us a detailed timline for each step of the project before he started. He stuck to that timline showing up on schedule and completing each step on time every time. Each step of the way he reviewed the progress of the job with us and showed us the quality of the workmanship behind the final tile work. The bathroom had signficant water damage to studs and floor sill. His craftmenship and reinforcement of the walls in that repair was super. Of course the new shower and floor look amazing, and we know it was built by an excellent craftsman. We will definently use C-Bec again and cannot give Carlos a strong enough recomendation.

Carlos Martinez from C-Bek tile is the best! We got many estimates for tile flooring in our kitchen and laundry room. We got the usual high and low estimates and met some "interesting" people along the way. We were really having trouble picking a tile contractor especially because everybody says they can do tile. My electrician even said he could do tile! There are so many variables involved that you really don't want just anybody laying tile unless you want crooked lines and an uneven floor. Carlos came out to give me an estimate and from that first meeting I knew we would be hiring him. He is super nice and also highly knowledgable and experienced. He heard what I had to say about the design and then told me exactly what I needed to do to make the floor come out perfectly. Our designer recommended 13" x "13" tiles in a diamond pattern and Carlos agreed. He also talked to me about where to start the pattern, how it would look and what colors to look for. Carlos actually had a few tiles to show me in the back of his minivan and it turned out he had the perfect tile right then and there! We actually went with that Sand Cream tile with Bone colored grout and are very happy with the result. As many others have said, Carlos isn't cheap, but he's also not expensive - the perfect word is competitive. The results of his knowledge, skill and attention to detail on the job will last much longer than a few dollar savings from your average tile guy. Another benefit with Carlos is his wife Patricia and their tile store on Sherman Way. Patricia really knows tile too and was very helpful along the way picking colors and grout. They have a big inventory of tile to choose from and that makes it easier than trying to get something from another building supply store and then having it installed. Carlos and his crew, including his son Carlos, were very fast, clean and professional. They floated the cement one day, tiled the next day and grouted the third day. A wonderful experience. I truly can't recommend Carlos and his family enough. Carlos is a great communicator. He has lots of design ideas and also really listens to all your concerns. He also answers his phone day and night. He's actually the best contractor I have ever worked with as far a calling back and following up. I have met a lot of contractors in the process of remodeling and Carlos is a gem. I will definitley be hiring him again in the future!!!

It went really well from start to finish. From my first call to having the work completely done took about a week and a half.

The project took the full crew of five for two days and a full day cleaning up the floor after grouting to insure everything was perfect. No one took any short cuts or did anything to cut corners. His crew was carefull , congenial and helpful throughout the process. When Carlos was finished there were not signs that they had been there and the job appeared to be very well done with a high degree of craftsmanship. We had obtained many competitive bids for the work and C-Beks prices were competitive but the work was outstanding quality. I was prepared to have the work done previously by another vendor on Angies List, but noted that the other vendor did not have a contractors license for tile work and would have subcontracted that work to someone else. By dealing with C-Bek we received excellent service from the people licensed to do this sort of work. This is a family owned and operated business employing long term employees and family members who take pride in the work and stand behind what they do. I would use them again for any tile or stone work i needed done. Both Carlos and Patricia Martinez are quality people that i fully trust to do outstanding work and I would recommend them totally to anyone doing stone or tile work.

I had a complete shower demolished and replaced in one bathroom including new tile floor, a new cabinet and tile floor installed in another bathroom and I had the tile entryway repaired. Carlos, the owner, was very prompt in coming to my house for an estimate. We went with him because he seemed responsible, the reviews on Angies List and he worked around our schedule which was great. He oversaw the whole project. His workers were great. They were were very professional and kept things clean. When they saw a problem they informed me so we could solve it immediately. I like to have a hands-on role in the projects and Carlos and his workers were very patient with me. Carlos made suggestions which helped me. Examples are placement of shampoo nook because it was placed at the back of the shower it is extra deep. He also recommended other people to help me complete additional projects. Overall this was a great experience. Everything went well and I think the bathrooms and the entryway look excellent.

We live in the Antelope Valley and couldn't get a reasonable estimate from anyone locally, so we finally started looking in the San Fernando Valley. After shopping for 6 months, we chose to go with Carlos at C-Bek for two reasons: the company had great reviews on Angie's List and we met and really liked Carlos. Carlos gave us what we felt were honest opinions on colors and how they blended with our floor and cabinets and helped us choose a great granite ($900). To accommodate our schedule, Carlos came out on a Saturday evening to measure; he even went to my parents house, also in AV, and gave them a quote afterward. Our kitchen is not just a number of nice, easy rectangles. The sink area of the counter has two 45 degree angles, as does the raised bar. They were able to make each of the four sections of counter in single pieces; I have no horizontal seams! They installed the sink, looks great. One of the things I really liked about Carlos was that he didn't seem to look at our counter as just a job, he seemed to consider it as the homeowner/user. Even when it was getting dark and cold outside, I heard him tell one of his crew that he didn't like the grout color in one section and had him change it. The crew was great, what little mess was created they cleaned up. The installation took about 6 hours and the kitchen looks beautiful. My parents came by to see the work today, they loved it, too.

Carlos was responsive to our call for an estimate and showed up at the time agreed upon. He was very timely in getting us his quote and completed the work efficiently and with a lot of care. We are very happy with the results as it was done the right way without any shortcuts and at the price quoted.

Carlos (owner of C-Bek Tile) and his crew really did a top notch job. First, he accommodated our somewhat unusual schedule at the time by agreeing to start a bit later than normal, which really helped us out. When he arrived to start the work, he thought to ask if I had ever tested the laundry room floor drain to confirm that it was functioning correctly. I had intended to do this, but had not yet gotten around to it, so he used a hose to run water into the drain, at which point we quickly discovered that it was completely stopped up. We had no idea if simply rooting the drain would fix it, so Carlos and I agreed that it would be best to postpone the tiling until I could diagnose and fix the clog. Our thinking was that since there was an outside chance (albeit a small one) that the concrete floor would need to be cut in order to fix the drain, postponing the tiling would avoid the risk of having to damage, remove, and replace tiles. Carlos graciously offered to reschedule the tiling once the drain issue had been resolved. It turned out that there was a major problem with the drain, and in fact we DID end up having to cut the laundry room floor in order to fix it. By thinking to ask about the drain before starting, Carlos prevented us from having to damage and replace tiles after the fix. It took us a few weeks to get the drain fixed, at which point we re-scheduled with C-Bek. Carlos had noticed on his prior visit that the floor had significantly more slope than was necessary, so he first leveled the floor, then returned to complete the tiling after confirming the design layout and a few other details. Before finishing, he cut the new molding and labeled the pieces for correct placement (once I finish staining them.) He even used some of the leftover grout to fix some spots in another room (which uses the same color grout) where the grout was damaged. The final result looks terrific, and the laundry room floor now has a proper (and much less dramatic) slope down to the drain. C-Bek went above and beyond the call of duty with this job, they cleaned up after each days work, and they respectfully kept everything tidy. It's very easy to recommend Carlos and his crew from C-Bek.

We chose light travertine stone, with a darker stone rail around the door. Carlos used 12' stone throughout, including the ceiling, and hand-made (from the same travertine) a couple of matching shelves in the shower. He cemented the stone very close together so there are practically no grout lines to clean. He also sealed the shower with a couple of coats of what he referred to as very expensive but very durable water-based sealer. Carlos is very easy to talk to, and takes a genuine interest in completing projects in such way that the customer will be pleased and happy. He helps with design ideas, and always asks if a decision needs to be made which might affect the final outcome. He and his people were always on time, and worked long days so as to complete the shower as soon as possible. The completed shower is the nicest I have ever used. The price shown includes $3,300 for labor, and almost $800 for the travertine.

They came on time, early every day before 8:00 AM, and worked late so as to complete the job as soon as possible. There were a couple of things I wanted Carlos to adjust during the job, but he was very cooperative and diligent in doing so. (It is far more common to encounter irritation and defensiveness in situations such as this.) All in all, the new granite counters, backsplash and tile in the kitchen are very well done. The travertine in the entryway is a real treat to look at and to walk on. (By the way, the tile that was replaced on the floor was only about 11 years old, but had to be replaced because the previous installer did such a poor job.) Carlos was very easy to work with, and he really cares about the work that he does. He wants it to look good, and he wants it to last.

He was so fantastic. First it was the best bid of 4 bids I received. We were going on a 4 day trip and suggested that he start the day we left. He was very accommodating and started that day. We were told that we would still be without a kitchen for another 1-2 days when we returned. To our delight he was completely finished when we returned only 4 days later! His workmanship was outstanding- everything was perfect. He and his wife Patricia were so nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

It was a good experience. He came to take a look at my kitchen tile that needed to be reset and re-grouted. We thought his price to reset seemed high. He said that some tiles were loose so he would prefer to reset them so they wouldn't come loose again. We had limited time and a limited budget for this project. Carlos was accommodating and he was willing to resubmit his bid in a timely manner to do only the re-grouting. The quality of his work was good. The price was fair. He didn’t come to work on time today, but it wasn’t a problem. He was there in a timely manner for the days that he did the work and when he gave the estimate.
