A typical repair of an igniter can range from $100 to $150. However, if you need to repair your mantel, expect the bill to be anywhere from $500 to $1,200. Wood fireplaces tend to cost more to repair due to specialized labor costs. Electric fireplaces tend to be the most cost-effective to repair, along with gas.

If you’re removing your fireplace due to issues like asbestos or damage, you will likely need to pay to rectify these problems along with the fireplace removal cost.
