Duke was great. He quickly diagnosed the problem and also found that our warranty hadn't quite expired yet. So, even though he did not do the original installation, he was able to save us big $ on the components. Duke was punctual and called us in advance of his arrival. Duke told us when he would get the parts and when he would come back for the installation. He was right on time. His prices were quite reasonable, frankly I was expecting to pay a lot more for what he did. Example: he diagnosed the problem in a little over half an hour but only charged us for 30 min for the first visit. Overall, I am really impressed with this guy! He is fair, he is fast, and the furnace is working great.

Very professional and punctual and a very good job of clean up after installation. I would highly recommend Dukes to anyone who needs a good HVAC contractor.

It was a cold day and my furnace was not working. I called several vendors around but most vendors were fully booked. Dukes was the only vendor that was available for the next day. So I scheduled an appointment with them for the next day. The guy told me he would call me back in an hour to confirm the time window. Two hours later he did not call, so I called him to follow up. The guy just shouted at me saying "I am busy now and don't have computer at hand. I told you I would call you back". That was a bad sign. Finally that night the guy called me and confirmed the time to be 2-4pm. The next day around 1pm, the same guy called me that he would come by in 15 minutes. I told him the appointment was scheduled 2-4pm and he said no it was scheduled 1-2, take it or reschedule for next week. Huh? I had no choice but skipping lunch and head home immediately. When I was driving home the guy called me again and said he has arrived but nobody answered the door. I told him I would be there in 3 minutes. The guy said "okay, I'll only wait no more than 5 minutes." All I wanted was to get the furnace fixed and end this nightmare. The guy was grumpy and impatient. I told him the furnace would stop running after a couple minutes. After a few minutes, he said "It works for me!" and did not want to further check. I asked him to wait a few more minutes. Finally, the furnace stopped running and he found the issue and replaced the igniter. As soon as he turned on the furnace again, he said "okay, all set!" I asked him to wait at least 10 minutes so as to make sure it get fixed completely. And he replied "okay, I'll wait, but you know, if I wait too long I will charge overtime".... I didn't know what to say. At least the furnace works now and I don't need to see this guy anymore. I hated to deal with this kind of technician but I really had no choice at that moment. Avoid Dukes if you can.

Mr. Duke was supposed to arrive between 11-1, but he called at 8:40 to say he had a cancellation and could arrive within a half hour if that was okay with me (of course!). I described the problem with my furnace (blowing cold air) and he got right to work checking it out. Almost immediately he was able to figure out that the problem was not from the furnace itself but a problem with the thermostat. A quick inspection and he found it to be incorrectly wired. He fixed the problem and now it works just fine. I thought the price was very reasonable ($95) and he thanked me for calling his company. Punctual, polite, and honest - couldn't ask for anything more!

We were very pleased with Duke. He came right away and figured out the problem quickly. Had to wait for the part to come in but he came back promptly to install it. Very happy to have our heater working again! Thanks for a job well done, Duke!

He responded quickly to our request, made an appointment soon after, showed up on time, found the problem, and gave us an accurate estimate for repairs. We scheduled the repairs, he showed up on time, replaced the controller, and billed us what he said he would. What more could we want?

I initially reached out on Saturday via email when we heard a terrible whining sound coming from our a/c unit and noticed that the fan was no longer turning. We immediately switched everything off. Heard back from Duke's promptly and was able to set up an appointment for Monday afternoon. On Monday morning Duke called and said he was available early since a couple of other appointments were completed early. Of course we had him come to us and he arrived within 30 minutes. Took him less than 0 minutes to determine the problem and take care of the replacement. Our A/C was up and running again within the hour and all is well. Duke is courteous, professional and competent. I would have no problem referring him to others and would definitely use him if we have future issues with our A/C or heating.

I found him from Angie’s List! They did a very, very good job and he was the best duct worker! I really liked this guy. He was great, very professional, honest, and told you as things were. They arrived on time to fix it just as he said. He was also quick to respond. They were very clean, professional, wore booties, and vacuumed up after they were complete. I may be purchasing an air conditioning unit in the future and I will be hiring them if so.

These guys were responsive to phone calls and other communication. They installed the air conditioning in a timely fashion. It only took a day to actually install (side note: when we redid part of the house a couple years ago we added writing for the A/C so they really only had to install the unit). They attached it to our existing central system. Makes the house so much more livable! We're pleased with the job they did and would recommend to friends.

The air conditioner, attic fan and furnace were professionally installed. They showed up early in the morning and did a great job installing everything in only one day. On Monday after the install Duke met me at my house to walk through with the city inspector for my permits. From beginning to end Duke and his team took care of everything.

At the beginning of a six-day heatwave with temps. in the hundreds, my central air conditioning unit broke. All repair companies were overloaded with customers, but I was able to get an appointment with Dukes scheduled for a few days in the future. The time window for them to arrive was between 11 and 2 on a Wed. On that day I received a phone call around 2 p.m. from the owner telling me he was running behind but that he would definitely come later; he estimated in a few hours. At 6:15 p.m. he arrived and he and another worker quickly diagnosed the problem (a blown capacitor and the main fan blades broken from the motor); they arranged a temporary fix so that I would have air conditioning in the interim until they returned in a few days to replace the old unit, which I decided to do. That temporary fix was a life saver to me as the inside temp. in my home had been in the nineties for days. They scheduled to return early Sat. morning to install the new unit. However, I got a call on Friday asking if they could come that afternoon instead since another customer had changed his afternoon appointment; naturally I agreed. They came at the time scheduled and within an hour and a half had installed the new unit which worked perfectly. They removed the old unit and left the area clean. I found all three of the workers, including the owner, to be extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The work was well done, although I was rather surprised at the cost of the new unit, but it definitely was worth it.

There were several reasons I was particularly satisifed with the services performed. First of all, our air conditioner broke on the first really hot weekend of the season. I called several repair services and Duke's responded immediately and set up an appointment. He arrived promptly at the desiganted time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He did not have the replacement part with him, but figured out when he could get it and arranged to return to install it, accommodating my work schedule. He also suggested a temporary fix that was largely successful. After obtaining the necessary replacement, he again arrived at the designated time and quickly and efficiently replaced the defective pump. I fully expected to be charged for the two visits--one on the weekend to diagnose the problem and the second on a weekday to install it, but, on his own initiative, he only charged me for the one visit (saying "If I can't make a living honestly, what's the point?"--an unusual and refreshing attitude, in my experience.) He also inquired if I was eligible for a senior discount (10%) and gave that to me. Thus, the cost of the service was considerably less than what I'd originally anticipated. I highly recommend this service.

My A/C was not working, they came out and did an expection and tune up. The next day problems persisted and they came in 40 mintues to fix the problem.

Duke replaced the capacitor and the AC is working.

He had called me back within 15 minutes even though I wasn't his customer. We were extremely pleased with his work. He was very educated about the types of heating and cooling that you use in your home. He was able to come up with the size and made good recommendations about the products that we needed. We did have some options, we ended up having a dual system. He was very good about telling us the reason that it would work for us. The guy with Duke's Heating & Air Conditioning did what he said he was going to do and he stayed within his price parameter. He said that if we had any issues, we could call him and he could take care of it immediately. We were very happy about his service.

I have worked with them before. They were so well rated. They did complete furnace, ductwork and AC overhaul. We actually bought a deal to replace all that. I knew them because my realtor had worked with them before and so I think when I looked back they still had the "A's" ratings of very low rates. The owner is a very awesome guy. He is very reasonable. They do a great work. They are very very responsive. I gave him one call and he showed up as scheduled, and did not charge anything for looking into it. When we were looking at the furnaces, he gave us a whole bunch of options, even for the AC, but because we do not normally have ACs where I live, the good thing was he did not try to push me to a high price model. When I asked about some of the bigger names, he said that you do not need that here as this would be good enough for you and that is honesty.

Dukes was prompt, timely, and efficient. Their work was professional and competant. Though a small company the work with them was first class.

Excellent service from start to finish. Worked with my initial schedule, and even called to see if I could work with an earlier start time which helped my day's workflow. Once onsite, he was quickly at work and explained each step and why it was important. I asked about some additional work I'd like to have done and the technician was able to explain that they did that and I'll be back to Duke's for that work as well most likely. Cleaned up his work area after he was finished and left everything better than when he started. Will definitely be back for more work from Duke's.
