The good part is that Johnson Electric did send two guys out the same day that we called, and they arrived on time. Alas, that was the only good part. I explained to Keith Johnson that we needed a house inspection and that the person who was sent out had to be licensed. However, the two guys who arrived were not licensed and barely spoke any English. We asked them to call their boss, Keith, to discuss the problem, but he was unreachable. We ultimately sent the two guys away and hired someone else. Keith has never called us back to explain why he sent unlicensed electricians.
Description of Work: We hired Johnson Electric to send a *licensed* electrician to perform an electrical inspection of a house my wife and I are buying.

Everything was excellent, from the initial call back to the finishing inspection. Workers were on time and efficient, all work was permitted and inspected. The wiring inside the panel was immaculate making inspection very easy. He also did not anticipate having to run a ground to the other side of the house to the cold water pipe, which meant an extra expense for him - he did it at no charge. He also resolved a ground issue in the garage without incurring any extra expense. Very highly recommended.
Description of Work: Panel was replaced including driving a ground rod and connecting the ground to cold water on the other side of the house. Resolved ground issues to an addition and the garage. Also rewired the garage outlets and lights with flex and added a GFI switch.

Went very well after some initial confusion. Made an appointment by phone. Called the day of the appointment to confirm;owner could not find record of the appointment. Called me back within 10 minutes to accommodate nonetheless, at a slightly different time on the same day. Workers arrived promptly. Quickly found the problem (which was a loose wire BEHIND the breaker panel. I would never have found it). Repaired, and checked all the other wires in the panel to prevent the same issue. Upon request, also replaced a broken receptacle for the same service call price, without charging for the part.
Description of Work: Troubleshot a wall of outlets that suddenly stopped working, and fixed it. Replaced a broken receptacle in another location.

Reliable on time service techs. Price was reasonable. My only recommendation would be bring bags and tools for clean up. Mr Johnson was able to give a phone quote on price which was very close to end cost.

Called Johnson electric and set a date for service following initial assessment of problem and receiving an estimate. Workers arrived on time and went right to work following a brief discussion of exactly what was written in the estimate. Work was completed in the time specified.

They were fantastic! Keith, the owner, came out right away to give an estimate. He gave us a number of options for the work that needed to be done. He was able to schedule the work to be done early the next week. His team showed up on time as scheduled and very professionally completed the job in two days. Keith came to meet the city inspector the following day, and the job was signed off right away. We are extremely pleased and will definitely hire them again and would recommend to anyone.
Description of Work: They removed the existing meter panel and fuse box from the kitchen. They installed a new meter panel and 200 AMP main panel and 50 AMP garage sub-panel. They re-routed all of the existing circuits to the main panel and added 6 new circuits.

Everything went quite well. Mr. Johnson was prompt and friendly and informed us of any safety situations we had on our property. His workers were competent and hardworking, though they didn't clean thoroughly after the first day's work. Mr. Johnson was willing to come back to fix any problem that might arise. Although some items seemed slightly higher than I would have liked, Mr. Johnson installed one light at no charge.
Description of Work: They installed two fans, installed path lighting, rerouted power underground to the garage, installed two lights on the house exterior and one exterior light under tree, repaired the GFI, and repaired an exterior power outlet.

Keith was very prompt in returning my call. He was going to give me a quote over the phone, but I requested that he visit the site since we have some complex landscaping and a very old stucco garage. He came out the next morning and gave us a quote. His was the most reasonable quote. After we decided to use his services we asked him to come out again to discuss placement of lights and the path for the conduit. We were also interested in securing permits. He told us it wasn't necessary but he'd do it if we asked for it, which I did. The next day he showed up with TWO workers. I wasn't prepared to have him start working as we hadn't discussed anything and the permits hadn't been secured. After much discussion we decided to go ahead with the project that day, but we were a little uncomfortable. In the end Keith's workers did an amazing job. They were quick and the work was quality. They even upgraded our conduit to 3/4'' upon request.
Description of Work: They ran power from our house to the garage (30 feet underground on a hill,) installed two new light fixture, and setup three power outlets in the garage.

The work was done quickly and competently, with no delay. It came in under estimate, as there were fewer problems than expected. Mr. Johnson is professional and cordial and his contractors did a good job with little service interruption. If there was a complaint, the only thing I can think of was they did not clean up after themselves, but nothing a little elbow grease, a vacuum and a couple hours wouldn't solve. All in all I will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I needed to bring my house up to code and completely rewire two units. New wiring had to be placed, as well as two new gang boxes. New light fixtures needed to be placed as well as new code qualified electrical outlets.

They had to come back twice when the light switch malfunctioned almost immediately after their repair. They were somewhat unreliable in terms of arriving on time and returning calls, especially after their initial repairs did not fix the problem. Eventually it turned out to be a bulb problem which they could have picked up the first time.

Keith Johnson, the owner, came and gave me a price for the work needed. I compared the price and his was the best. His guys did a very professional job and took the time needed to get it done right. Because Building and Safety was involved, we had the work inspected later that week. The Building and Safety inspector said the work was excellent. Also, Johnson's electric added several GFIs in my kitchen which was done well. Although, there was a problem with one of the GFIs, the company was very responsive and came the next day to fix it. We are happy with their work.
Description of Work: We had a riser that needed to be elevated per Building and Safety's instructions. This required about 4.5 hours worth of work.

Very good. Keith Johnson was able to ask for all the information he needed for the estimate on the phone. They did the job the same week. The house was built in 1912, so they had to run a new connection under the house from the box, but the job was completed quickly. My only complaint is that they left a hole in the laundry closet wall that I now have to patch, but it is a minor problem.

Very good - it was a difficult job but the two workers worked very hard and managed to finish in one day - price was very reasonable - there was some unavoidable damage to some of the garage stucco, and since electricians don't do stucco, I now have to have that repaired through someone else. Overall, though very satisfied; just one thing - the contractor sort of downplayed the necessity for me to be at home during the job, as it turned out, it would have been very difficult if there hadn't been someone home to let the men in the house to access circuit breakers, etc. He should be a little more thorough in appraising the job.

THEY WERE WONDERFUL!! I was able to get an appointment with very short notice, I don't know if this is usual or not but it made me very happy. The guys were nice, they made my exposed conduit look very neat and tidy. I didn't know what to expect for price since I was too short on time to shop around for best deal, but I found out now that I got a pretty good deal too! They cleaned up when they left and I would call them back for another job without a second thought.

The two gentlemen who came were very courteous and friendly and obviously experienced. One of them did not speak very good English but the other served as translator. It became a problem when they split to cover two different tasks. I watched as one of them started to use metal pliers to tighten a decorative piece on an antique heirloom brass light fixture. I tried to warn him to be careful but I don't think he understood me. The result was a knob with metal teeth marks and a scratch on the back plate. Not worth taking the time to fix yet everytime I walk by I'll know and will feel a little angry. Because they were so nice to work with, overall they get a C but this one item left me feeling quite "lousy".

The personnel including owner, Keith, were extremely pleasant and customer oriented. I would use them again and recommend them to others. However, I wasn't entirely happy with the installation of the fans. They ''shimmy'' at the higher speed, I believe because a stabilizer part, which was included in the package and pointed out to the workmen, was omitted from the installation.
