 + 1 moreCost of all the work was just beyond my expectations for what is straight forward 2 or 3 days of work. I did not hear any comments from the company that disputed the non-complex nature or duration of work. The person that visited my house was punctual, professional and friendly. Estimate arrived late, almost 9 days later at nearly $11,000 for mostly labor charges. Cameras, bath fan, Cat5E cables etc. were already purchased by me. They admit that they are not the cheapest but I found the estimate outrageous.

 + -1 moreThey were on time, there weren't any problems. Two people came out and were there for about 2 hours. We communicated fine over email and phone. They wrote a report on what could be upgraded optionally in the future. They did a very thorough inspection. I probably wouldn't use them in the future because the company is not local, but I would if they were located close by.

Switched Electric was completely professional, called to schedule an appointment following our online order, then called again the day before to let us know when Seth would be here. We live in a rural area so this was not easy, and who does that anymore anyway? Seth showed up on time, gave us a lot of really useful information about GFCI's that no longer work in the house, forthcoming codes we were not aware of, and complimented work that was done correctly 22 years ago! We do have some minor issues to attend to and will call Switched Electric back to do the work, once we have their report. We are delighted we signed up for Angie's List - just this visit has made it completely worthwhile.

Seth was very thorough and anytime I had a question he took the time to answer it. During the safety inspection, Seth pointed out issues that were not hazardous, but just weren't done correctly. Overall, I was very happy with the service provided by Seth, and would DEFINITELY use his company, Switched Electric again!!

They were very polite, professional, and he cleaned up after himself. He explained what he was doing. He was a very good person to work with. He did the work when it was very cold and we were very satisfied with the service. I would use them again and recommend them highly.

Description of Work: Fixed grounding problem and checked all circuits. All the plugs in the back of my house were not working. He corrected a grounding problem and reset all with the garage GFI. Did a ceiling fan check and advised that fan was not operating, electrical wiring was fine. Honored my Angie's List coupon for his company and gave a great discount.

 + -1 moreSeth is fantastic! He showed up on time and went right to work diagnosing my electrical issue. He asked very detailed questions to determine what steps were necessary. After testing my entire electrical system, Seth showed that I had a damaged GFCI. Seth replaced the outlet and cleaned up everything very nicely. Seth also let me know that if I still had any issues with my electrical system after this repair, he would come back at no charge. WOW, that's what I call service!! I was very impressed with his professionalism and will be recommending him to everyone I know, that needs a true expert electrician.

 + -1 moreSeth was very pleasant when he came out to label the breaker panel and do a full house evaluation. There were many issues we were unaware of, but Seth outlined them when he was there and very thoroughly in the emailed document. When we are ready to do such repairs and upgrades, Switched Electric will certainly be at the top of the list. The only hitch was that I had to call a few weeks after the initial visit because the labels for the panel had not arrived, nor had I received the evaluation and estimate emails. They were very quick to respond, and Seth dropped off the labels himself. I imagine they had quite the influx of appointments from the deals, but their customer service is wonderful.

Description of Work: The price above covered the initial inspection. Switched Electronics performed a whole-home electrical inspection (inspected smoke alarms; checked all electrical panels, main breakers, circuit breakers, GFI's, ARC fault breakers, electrical service cable and grounding system. Provided a detailed and customized report, complete with descriptions and photos of any hazards or problems. Then, they returned to correct the wiring problems and code violtions that were uncovered (including correctly rewiring an electrical fan, grounding plugs, etc. that were improperly grounded, and ensuring the fuses and breakers were correctly sized and labeled). They also provided an estimate for upgrading the electrical panel, which the homeowner/landlord may decide to do in the future.

We were grateful when Seth and Nathan arrived. They found the problem areas and gave us wonderful solutions. The staff was back in days and completed the work cleanly, quietly and with lots of care. Description of Work: First they arrived to evaluate and price. Once this was complete a quote was emailed to me direct. Once we agreed to the quote we then gave a deposit and scheduled a date/time for work to be complete.
