Switched Electric

It worked pretty well. We're waiting for the promise of the work that they're going to do for the service. We found out in the inspection that there wasn't enough dedicated circuits in the kitchen. It was a proposal for all the work that needed to be done that they found. They haven't given me the proposal and the whole thing of what needs to be fixed. They were right on time and they were very professional. They gave me all the preliminary information really well. It was just the follow-up because the guy who did the inspection in my house split within the next week. I never got the reports back. The price was a little bit high.

Switch Electric, was on-time, introduced himself and began the work of installing my new Fan, he 1st check the location and wiring of where the fan would be installed to ensure proper connectivity would be sucessful. He began with a safety check to ensure the new fan could be installed with no issues, he began the install, he made a few adjustments, he communicated in details as he progressed the install of my new fan, asked if I had any questions, I would hire this company again, they were very professional, on-time and efficient, the new fan looks beautiful, thank you Seth you did a great job and of course you now have a new return customer.

I purchased the home inspection through Angie's list the company contacted me that day to set Appt.first available was a month from date of purchase due to high demand, I was fine with that considering I could not even get call backs from other company's. Not only did Seth show up right on time he took the time to explain to me and help me prioritize what where urgent matters and what could wait. Switched Electric was professional from the first contact and I look forward to working with them in the future.

Firstly, I was surprised to get service so quickly. A connection in my attic was broken by a technician during an installation (although apparently not all his fault). The problem has dragged on for a little better than two weeks whilst three of their other technicians schedule times to come out. They arrive but don't find what's broken or who broke what. They gave me the address of their Damage Claims department. Now to the nice part. Got on Angie's List and called Switched Electric. Apparently 99.9% of electricians are scheduled out for at least 2 to 3 weeks. The office manager asked if I'd like to be put on the waiting list just in case someone might cancel. Naturally, I said yes but didn't expect that to happen. Long story short(er), the lady called this morning and said someone could be out this afternoon. Shortly thereafter I received a call from their tech, Seth Silbaugh, stating he was on his way and would be here shortly after 12:00. He arrived at about 10 minutes after 12. Spent about half an hour to identify the problem and fix it. Showed me the broken connector, and explained why it was easy to break. I am one happy customer and when I want an electrician in the future, will definitely all Switch Electric.

Nathan from Switched Electric came out twice. First, for a whole-house electrical inspection in March 2015. We had a couple of outlets that weren't working and there was a fire recently in the neighborhood in an old condo just like ours, so I wanted to make sure everything was OK. Unfortunately, he told us that while our internal wiring was sound, the wiring in the outlets (receptacles) was shoddy work and potentially dangerous. He recommended replacing all of them, upgrading to one GFCI type on each circuit and weather-protecting an external outlet. We asked around and decided to get the five GFCI outlets and the external one, but had sticker shock for replacing all the rest. He did this work well and as promised. Wouldn't you know that a couple of months later, I heard a strange popping noise coming from behind me and turned around in time to see SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE WALL. Needless to say it was coming out of one of the outlets we had not yet replaced in spite of Nathan's recommendation. Once I got my heart rate under control and determined the house was not actively burning down, I called Switched Electric. It was late on the Friday afternoon before Memorial Day but they guided me through what to do and made every effort to get to us as soon as possible. When Nathan looked at that outlet, he showed me the charring and where things had melted together inside the wall. He replaced the rest of the outlets and now we're sleeping better at night. I don't know that this is the cheapest electrician in town, but frankly after seeing smoke come out of my wall I was pretty clear that I didn't want the cheapest one. He took the time to explain things thoroughly to me and clearly took a lot of pride in his work, which I recognize as the mark of a good craftsman. Also, he was kind to the dog, which makes everything easier. I've already recommended Switched Electric to a neighbor and happily do the same here.

From the first call to the immediate quote to the scheduling and to the completed work, Seth, Terri and Nathan were professional in every respect. Switched Electric sets a high bar for electrical subcontractor performance and quality.

I am so disappointed with my experience with switched electric. I joined Angies List specifically to find a quality electrician. They came out to look at the job. They said they would get back to me with an estimate and book the job. That is the last I heard from them. The first time I followed up I got an email apologizing for the tardiness and said they would get back to me. The next time I contacted them I heard nothing. That was over 3 weeks ago.

Installed quickly and works well.

No problems. They were on time, professional, friendly and knowledgeable.

It was fine. It was just the $99. They just looked at all the electrical and gave me a list of things that could be worked on. They were very professional. I just told them my concerns and they went, walked around and looked at those items.

Did a great job. I will use them in the future.

The work entailed having to go up into my attic, so the team of two were there right at 8am to ensure they finished before the noon sun. They set about completing the jobs very efficiently, making sure the placement of the lights were not going to interfere with cabling, pipes, etc. I am pleased with the end result. Nathan also noticed that my bathroom vent was disconnected and pointed out an issue with the dryer vent, which was very helpful.

They found the reason my duplex outlet was not working & fixed the problem. My electrical circuit box checked out fine.

Ordered Angie's deal for whole house electrical inspection. Took a few tries to get someone out for inspection. Once I did the inspection went well, and seemed very thorough. Service technician was very professional and informative. He recommended whole house rewire and subpanel replacement. I was almost ready to have them do the work, but decided it would be prudent to get additional bids . Turned out that their bid was almost 30% more than next highest bid and almost twice the cost of the third. I believe they would do good work, but decided not to go with them, purely due to the cost.

It went ok, they did a good job. Their report told us some of our switches were old and some were new but they didn't tell us which ones. I wish there had been more detail on what was included in the inspection. It didn't quite meet our expectations.

I'm so glad I went with Switched Electric. Seth, the owner, is a true professional and really understands his trade. Seth did all the work himself and what really impressed me was how quickly he came up with solutions to solve unexpected problems. I had some pipes in the ceiling that interfered with the normal recessed lighting cans and Seth was able to find low profile lights in the 2700k color that I wanted. He was also able to come up with a solution to correct an error that the tile contractor made at one of the switch locations. Seth is an outstanding electrician and his customer service is second to none. You can easily tell that he has a passion for what he does. It's really hard to find someone that has this mix of technical skill, service, and enthusiasm. I'm definitely going to use Seth for some additional work that I'm planning for in my house. I've hired many contractors in the past 1 - 2 months in which I remodeled my kitchen and I must say that Seth and his office assistant, Terri, were the best to work with.

Came to the house twice to test. Said everything looked okay, but he would send us a specific, written report. We NEVER received the report or any follow up. Waste of time and money.

They came out and checked the system and provided the inspection report. The inspection itself was great and they were thorough. They were supposed to send me follow-up pricing.

Service person kept us informed of all steps being performed

It was a good deal. We did not go with their bids as it was too high, and not completely on point with what we requested. They did a very thorough examination and walk through.

I thought that I was buying a credit with this company. They told me certain things that I could apply the credit to. I felt like there was no deal or discount. I did have them do some electrical work; I paid them $400 and it was good work.

Very clean job, minimal drywall damage... very happy with the electrical work. They do not repair the drywall or paint, but recommended someone. The dry wall guy they recommended did an okay job, but I had to go back and touch up the texture in a few places as it didn't quite match.

It was terrific. The electrician showed up on time, was pleasant and competent. She explained what she was doing and why. She gave us a detailed report with her findings when she was done. We then hired her company to do the repair work and were very satisfied with the work performed and the price. We would for sure recommend them to anyone.
