They did a very thorough walk through of my home when they came out to do the work. They fixed the things that needed to be taken care of. I've already used them for other jobs.

Switched Electric was really great to work with. They are professional, they know what they are doing and are very detailed. The chandeliers that I had them install are not easy fixtures to install and where I had them install them was about 20 ft up in a vaulted staircase, so this was not an easy task. Another light fixture they installed was missing some hardware so they had to figure out a solution. They handled all these obstacles with poise and professionalism! I felt like they were trustworthy and I didn't get creeped out by them being in my house. I will definitely hire them again!

I just bought an older house full of knob and tube work that's been spliced into by various unqualified handymen throughout the years, and needless to say, there are problems. The first thing I wanted to take care of was getting all the heavy duty appliances off the over-spliced branches and on to properly grounded GFCI plugs, and luckily, most of that could be done by running conduit through the garage. Everything with Switched Electric went smoothly from start to finish. There were absolutely no sneaky sales pitches, their pricing was very competitive for this area, everybody showed up exactly when they said they would, did exactly what they said they were going to do, kept me in the loop on any issues that arose, cleaned up after themselves and passed inspection without issue the very next day. The conduit looks great to boot--much better than what you can see on many of the neighboring properties. I've got plenty more electrical issues to tackle, and I would not hesitate to use Switched again in the future.

My overall experience with this company is very very good. I sent an email to Seth that I would like to get the work done in my house after the estimate was given to me from the initial inspection. They responded immediately and called me to set up an appointment. Seth did all the work in the house and few additional things he found such as the Timer for the backyard lights. Showed me how it functions and helped me to get them running again for no additional charge. Seth was very professional and courteous. He explained all things in detail and even things that can be easily fixed by ourselves rather than paying him. I really appreciated their input on those things. I later called Seth again to put the timer in my Garage back which I had asked him to remove earlier. I realized I needed that timer for my christmas lights. He was kind enough to stop by to not only re-install the timer but with a new and better one for free of charge. The customer service from this company is excellent. I would recommend this company to all my friends and family. Thank you Angie's List.

It was okay. They basically just came and did an inspection. They didn't do anything very much. They gave me some estimate for some work. To be honest, I didn't make a lot of sense to be paying just to get someone to come and do an estimate. They seem to be competent, I was just expecting them to do a little more for that and not just give me an estimate.

they installed new track lighting in my living room. they showed up on time, were polite, well-groomed, didn't make a mess, and the lights look great. they even saved the plugs cut from the drywall so i could patch the walls.

Nathan, the electrician, arrived on time and was extremely polite and professional. He analyzed all of the issues with the breaker panel and the washing machine and concluded that the breakers were OK and that the problem with the washer was likely the result of the internal computer in the machine. We were impressed because he did not recommend unnecessary and expensive electrical work, and moreover there was no charge for the diagnostic visit to our home.

It went well. The electrician had to undo the previous work that was done by the handyman and got our new electric heater working again. He was professional and enjoyed to explain his work to us.

Overall, it was good. they called me immediately after I purchased the deal to schedule an appointment.

It turned out great. They had really good customer service, the guy was really friendly and had very good skills. I had the service done within a month of me calling them to purchase the deal. I only spent the value of the deal.

Very nice people and very punctual but I guess it is because I am a senior that I find it somewhat disconcerting that I am basically paying $50.00 to receive an estimate of work that they would like to perform. I am well aware that my home could benefit by an upgrade to the electrical service, an expensive proposition, but I procured this assessment so as to ascertain if I have any problems that need immediate attention. What I received was an outline of the steps to be undertaken for an upgrade. This work was done quite a while ago and while it has been my ongoing intention to say nothing, Angie?s List prodding for my comments has been unrelenting.

I was extremely satisfied with the quality of work, the quality of materials used and the professionalism of this company. I had been planning this upgrade for over a year since it was not an emergency. I am an admitted OCD perfectionist, a DIYer that rarely hires anyone for home or auto repair, and I tend to micromanage everything - and Seth made me very happy. I carefully researched the best electrician, starting with Angie?s & Yelp and then refined it to a number of estimates and phone calls and then used all the information I learned from those interviews and conversations. I was impressed that Seth appeared the most knowledgeable, and had the best ideas for the installation. His price was also very reasonable ? he was not the cheapest price but he was the best value. I wanted whole house surge protection built in to the panel, and a panel allowing the possibility of adding a generator without needing a separate transfer switch box, etc. He selected high quality materials including Square D QO breakers, box & surge protector. I stayed home and watched the entire installation. Everything went well and he had my power on by the end of the day. His wiring work was very neat and tidy by my standards. I was present the next day for the inspection and we passed. The office manager, Terri, was also very helpful and responsive on the paperwork and setting up the appointments. On a personal note I spent a day and half with Seth during the job and he is a very nice and personable guy too. I would absolutely recommend Switched Electric as a top electrical contractor.

The electrician who came to our home was Nathan, and he's great! Punctual, very professional, very sincere, and very clear. Also, he uses an iPad to take notes from which he was able to quickly generate and send a report accordingly. Nathan is who we'd feel comfortable hiring to do electrical work on our home.

I contacted Switched Electric due to the wonderful reviews here. I made an appointment for Seth, the owner, to come out and give an estimate on our "honey-do" list of electrical projects - install two ceiling fans, replace some 2-prong grounded outlets with 3-prong, install some motion-sensing fixtures, etc. Seth arrived an hour early and was at my gate when I got back from taking my husband to work. I was slightly annoyed by this, as I also needed to go check on my Mom next door and get her settled for the morning, so asked him to please wait, which he did, with apologies for mixing up the arrival time. We set about discussing the list and he ws very thorough in checking out all the little projects, clipboard in hand. He made a couple recommendations based on our wishes which I thought sounded reasonable. I knew that they were based in Los Banos, which is a pretty good drive to Monterey, but Seth said he enjoyed coming over here to work in the cooler weather and pick up some seafood for dinner! He told me that his estimate would come to me via email, and that he was probably going to be the most expensive estmiate I'd get, but that the work was all fully guaranteed and would be top-notch. It took a few days to get the estimate as apparently there was a computer problem on their end to get the file attached and sent to me. When I did get it, I was rather floored to find it was $2200, which included a travel fee of nearly $70! I had mentally figured the job was worth at the max, $800 to $1000. My husband and I discussed this over dinner, and decided it was time for another estimate. We went with a more local contractor, who quoted $400 for the same exact work - needless to say, we went with that, not only because of the price but because we did feel a little more comfortable with the proximity of the local guy, in the event of callbacks or any problems. I will say that Seth was courteous, professional, and personable, and I was sorry that we weren't going to do business together, because I felt he'd do a good job - but $1800 difference in price was just TOO much to ignore. I did email back that we had decided to do business locally due to the price difference, and I didn't hear anything further on the subject. My point in writing this review is simply to "keep it real" and while I can't assess the quality of the work, I wanted to speak to the pricing.

Our experience with switched electric was very pleasant and professional. We requested an estimate and they sent a technician over at 8am a few days later, which was very convenient as we could see him before we left for work. We described the work we wanted done, and he said he would need to take a look around the house to give us an idea of what it would cost. He asked for many clarifications, took a ladder and went into the attic to get a better idea of how the wiring in the house was laid out. He then gave us estimates for each item we wanted done -- some, he explained, would be more expensive than normal because of the way our house was constructed. We decided to leave those out. He also explained up front that there would be some drywall damage while installing the recessed lighting, but that he would minimize it by making round, clean holes and leaving the drywall pucks so that we could repair them. He estimated that it would take two days, and that he could start in a week. A week later, he arrived on schedule and began work. It turned out that the exterior light fixture did not need to be replaced -- so he just repaired it and reduced what he charged us. Very honest. He finished on time the next afternoon. The work was extremely neat. He laid down plastic to protect our floors, and there were absolutely no marks or scuffs left. We have ceiling beams from which he suspended the new he hanging lights, and we can hardly eve see the duct work that he laid down to extend the wires to the new fixture. He was extremely polite, efficient, and professional -- no surprises or delays.

It went pretty well, except one day he did get sick and had to reschedule. It was a little more than 2 days of work. The last day he had a helper.

Called to schedule appointment. Was 3 weeks since I was only available one day each week. Arrived on time. provided quote. I choose services I wanted. Work was done. Less than 2 hours from door knock to finish. Cleaned up all sawdust. Wore booties since new floors.

He did a good job and I hired him to come back again to do some more work for me based on the inspection he did. I felt that the price was a little high for the work he did. I would use him again based on quality and professionalism but I think I might try to find someone closer and with a better price next time.

They always responded quickly. They did excactly what we needed above and beyond what the job was. They worked with my wife and mother-inlaw without me there and were completely professional.
