UPDATED REVIEW BELOW. :::Sales::: Matt Swavely was my sales rep and from an initial sales perspective, he is amazing at his job. He came in to do a quote and was very courteous and prompt and took his time looking at everything and hearing my ideas and putting together a detailed quote. He even put together two options because I wasn't sure if I wanted to add more work in or not. I ended up adding in the extra work and I am so glad I did because painting all of that extra stuff on my own would have been a pain. Before we even did the job, I needed several weeks to pick paint colors and I was struggling with the color for the cabinets. Matt referred me to a colorist/designer (who I ended up not using because I had an epiphany), and I thought that was super helpful of him. He told me at our first meeting that he loved his job and it's obvious he does. He also answered all my texts and questions throughout the weeks leading up to the job. I even texted him at 11:30pm one night and he responded! That's where it ended though. Once the job was done, and there were some concerns I had with it (outlined below), he did a 180. He was adversarial with me and even blamed me for the paint choice (even though his paint vendor suggested it and Matt approved the choice). It was a very bizarre and surreal conversation, to be honest. I was totally taken aback because I was hoping the conversation would simply lead to a game plan for fixing the issues, and instead it became a very negative experience that ended in Matt threatening legal action. :::Job::: Noe was my foreman and he was really quiet so I was nervous at first because he didn't react much when I went through the job with him at my house. Matt assured me Noe was amazing. Noe and his guys cleaned up after themselves, were actually really quiet, and were the fastest painters I have ever known. The cutting in at the ceiling was superb. They actually finished a half day early but came that day anyway to do the walk through with me. I had them make a few touch ups.They went about the touch ups without any issue or concerns and it looked great. Fast forward to three days later when I am planning to hang the doors and put new hardware on. There were places where paint was coming off if I simply scratched it with a fingernail. It wasn't all over and they weren't huge marks, but almost every single door and drawer was affected by it. Long story short, and after the disastrous meeting with Matt, the owner, Pat, stepped in and was much more patient and understanding about the concerns I had. He came out on his day off to look at it and agreed there were definitely some paint concerns and he had Noe come out the next week (1/11) to fix it. The cabinets and drawers are still curing in my garage as I type this and I won't be putting them up until the end of the month, to be SURE they cure well. All said and done, a job that was supposed to take three days has been longer. My kitchen has been split between my garage and my house since Monday, 11/25 and it's Wednesday, 1/22 today. I am fairly confident that the fixes will work and Noe and Pat were very gracious about helping to get it done. Pat apologized for the legal threat (which came from Matt and not him) and overall, the fixing experience was positive once Pat was involved. :::OVERALL::: I would consider hiring them again but I most definitely would not work with Matt again. If I did hire them I would ask to work directly with Pat, the owner, otherwise I might pass on to someone else. I am not saying not to use them. I hired them because they obviously have great reviews and I assume they are generally very good at what they do or those wouldn't be there. But, for me personally, this experience was more stressful and emotionally draining than it ever needed to be so I would definitely think twice about using them for another job. I hope it was an isolated experience though.

We got the job scheduled; however, the workman had an unexpected schedule change for unknown reasons and the job was postponed for one day. The job was estimated to take about a day and a half. Once the paint crew arrived the job was promptly started that morning and they finished it by that afternoon. We went with a more expensive paint, which was proven to be the wise choice, for the garage door is black, along with the front door, and the color and sheen are consistent. The crew preped the wood, and sanded and filled as required. All in all the work was above average and the office staff was professional and courteious.We plan to use certa pro again this fall for some work inside the house.

Went fantastic. I had to do some minor touch ups where different colors met at corners but it was no big deal. I have to say one of the biggest and most awesome things that happened was they refunded me a good chunk of my money. I contacted them because of a special Angie's deal but ended up paying more because the allotted time was more than the deal. One guy ended up coming in 3 hours after the first guy started and they finished a little early. I pointed this out to the company and Matt Swavely came back to me with a refund check because the hours they worked were very close to the hours in the deal. I have never in my life had a contracted come back and refund me. This was amazing. I was blown away. From a customer service standpoint, these guys are second to none. I would definitely use them again. Great company, nice people......Wish more companies were like them.

The whole experience with Certa Pro painters was extremely positive. They were punctual, professional and clean. The supervisor of the job made sure that we were happy with the work performed. He went through an entire punch list and made sure all items were satisfactorily addressed. I will hire them again. In fact, I will have them come each year to paint the trim and fencing .

Entire process from start to finish was very smooth. Wendy (owner) was extremely professional in presenting her business and presenting the estimate. She also helped me select the color scheme for our home which was very helpful. When work commenced, Arturo and crew were very professional and very respectful of our schedules and of our home. We felt very comfortable having them in our home while we were working and they were also very nice to our dog. They took the time each day to clean up as much as possible so that we could function in a normal fashion. We were very pleased with the end result. The crew did a fabulous job, our home is beautiful!

We made an appt for an estimate. Nobody showed or called and we called the appt desk, they paged and texted her and still no response. It was an unfortunate experience and left us very annoyed with a wasted morning. Do not recommend this company.

From start to finish this was the most outstanding paint job I have ever experience throughout my many years of being a home owner in CA. The company Certo Pro Painters of Saddleback Valley provided me with an excellent paint job on my home in Mission Viejo, CA. Starting with the written estimate when Wendy arrived ON TIME, fulling explaining the process, making recommendations and providing a detailed estimate that was very reasonable for the service. After we agreed on using their company, Jim (supervisor) arrived to go over the job, explain the time frame, also made some excellent suggestions, and gave us superior evaluation of his worker, Arturo that would be handling our home. We felt Certo Pro Painters had already provided us with the assurance that we would be provided with a professional paint job and that would stand behind the work. At that time we were given a start date and time. Arturo and his assistant Javier arrived exactly on time and started the job. Both of the men were hardworking and only stopped to quickly eat lunch and proceed back to their work. We were impressed with their level of cleanliness, experience, respectfulness and professionalism. When they finished the house looked exceptional. Jim, showed up the next day to review the work and make sure we were totally happy and satisfied with the work.I had received quotes from 3 other companies before connecting with Certo Pro and not 1 of the other painters provided me with the detail explanation and assurance that Certo Pro did on our the day they provided me with their quote. Without a doubt I would recommend this company. I have already given their names to a neighbor and 3 friends that all could not believe that I had not been either ripped off or received a shoddy job from a professional painter in Orange Cty, CA.Lastly, I could not have connected with this company without the help of Angie's List and the recommendations. I found all the painters and made my appointments from out of state and all I had to do was be their for the quotes and the work. Angie's List made it happen for me and (obviously) Certo Pro of Saddleback Valley. Don't be foolish...really...use them!

I dealt with Wendy, one of the owners, and she said she expected they wouldn't be the lowest since they use the best paint and are more thorough. I liked her very detailed survey of the house and specific write-up of what they would do. The comments on Angies List were important too as was the $200 coupon there. My big concerns were whether they could fix the cracks in the stucco well and after some encouragement by me, they did a very nice job on this. At first, the cracks were still visible and I asked Noe, the project leader, to do better and he did.Also I have an aluminum patio cover that they wouldn't walk on for fear it would collapse. So we removed it and it worked well.They did the whole thing in 4 days with good cleanup and I have leftover paint in all colors. Noe speaks English well and was cooperative when I pointed something out. Wendy was cooperative and wanted to be sure I was happy. I got what I expected so I'm happy.

They did a pretty good job. There was a little mix-up about their time of coming out, but it wasn't very serious. I would look at some of the other painters to have work done in the future.

This is an extremely professional company. Wendy Coticchia is the up front (sales) person and one of the franchise owners. She provided an extremely detailed quotation with pictures (inserted) and detailed the EXACT job scope and price. My neighbor and I received 7 quotes...CertaPro was by far the most professional of all of the painters we talked to.The job itself was "on schedule" and the painters did an EXCEPTIONAL job. They are bonded, insured, and have at a minimum a English speaking job foreman. The job included great masking, finishing, and, believe it or not, cleanup after each day's activities. I would not hesitate to use these fine folks again. In fact, they are my painter of choice.

Sendy Coticchia, the owner, did the project and she was very knowledgable and detail oriented. I called back to ask her several questions regarding her bid but it took several days for her to return the call. Once we spoke, she answered all of my questions and said she would honor the $200 discount coupon on Angie's list. The painters had some mechanical problems on the first day and were 2 hours late but one of the owners came to my house at the scheduled time to tell me about their difficulties so I was not waiting for them. When the painters arrived, they introduced themselves and gave me their contact details in case I needed to reach them regarding an issue. The team was seasoned and experienced and varied from 2-3 people. The foreman, Noe, went out of his way to make sure I was happy with their work and was helpful in discussing options. The painters did a great job preparing the surfaces and filling in cracks with painter's putty and resetting loose nails. They applied 2 coats of paint and were neat, clean and careful throughout the process. The job turned out great and they left the property clean and made sure to offer me the touch-up paint, if I wanted it. I would highly recommend CertaPro Painters of Lake Forest, CA.

It was a great experience from start to finish. Our estimate was fair, and consistent with what we have paid for interior painting in the past. What we weren't prepared for was the very personalized service and the quick, efficient and painless experience. The job was finished in three days - start to finish - and every day the crew arrived on time, took care to move or cover our things, and worked quickly and neatly, cleaning up at the end of each day. They were patient with my requests to try a couple of different colors and when I wanted to add some trim and cabinetry to the job once it got underway. I highly recommend them and look forward to hiring them again this Spring to paint our exterior.

In one sentence, they did a great job and I am very pleased with the results. There are really two aspects to the job; the initial marketing done by Wendy of Certa Pro prior to painting, and the actual painting done by Arturo and Javier. First, the marketing. Wendy came out to my home to prepare the initial estimate and tell me about the company and their work. Wendy was very professional, made a good impression, and emphasized the quality of Certa Pro’s work. As I had admittedly let the house go too long without repainting, I recognized there was much prep work to be done in terms of caulking and repair to the wood trim and stucco. And I wanted the work done right with good attention to detail. The more I spoke with and listened to Wendy, the more comfortable I felt that her company would truly deliver the quality. And they did. Wendy also spent some time with me to go over color samples and make sure I had selected the right colors for siding, trim and entry door. While I had a good idea what I wanted, Wendy provided some excellent suggestions and I ultimately went with a color choice she recommended. It turned out to be a great choice and my wife are very please with the new look of our home. The crew consisting of Arturo and Javier showed up on Monday morning right on schedule. Arturo and Javier were absolutely great to work with. They were both very conscientious and respectful in all that they did. I provided Arturo some specific instructions with regard to several aspects of the job, and all was promptly taken care of as requested. Both Arturo and Javier did a great job; their work was thorough and they showed very good attention to detail, which is exactly what I was looking for. Arturo also took the time to explain to me some of their work practices and painting techniques, where it was apparent to me the pride he took in his work. They were also very neat and orderly in their work, maintaining a neat laydown area for their tools and equipment and cleaning up the area after each day of work. While having workers in my home can sometimes be intrusive, Arturo and Javier’s conscientious demeanor put me at ease and made it a very positive experience. I would not hesitate to call Certa Pro again for future painting needs.
