They come out to the house and perform whatever is on the checklist, but there are always the extras that come out that increase the cost that they always want you to buy. It is not as if they can't justify them, but it's always the extras that are the problem. But I see that that's their business and I appreciate that, but I don't like getting crossed.

I think they did a decent job. They are pretty responsive. They are pretty punctual.

Dominick from Comfort Energy diagnosed the problem and fortunately had the necessary parts on his truck. He replaced the gas value and thermopile. I anticipated that it would be one or the other part that was the problem. He recommended I replace the thermopile that showed wear as well as the gas valve that was not working. There aren't many other parts that go bad on this kind of unit and so it was a matter of replacing those parts or replacing the entire unit. I was given 3 options from high to low $ and chose to do the repairs that made the most sense to me. I don't know enough about these things to comment on the price charged. Since he was at my house for 1 1/2 hours I am judging the cost to be fair but I can't knowingly say the cost was excellent. Dominick seemed very knowledgable, professional, respectful and very pleasant. I would use this company's services again.

Technician was very familiar with the furnace troubleshooting. He found out that capacitor was faulty in matter of minutes, even had a spare already in his van. Awesome service !

We purchased the $49.99 service call. It was very easy to schedule, and we had someone out within a couple of days. The gentleman who came out was very professional and communicated everything that he was doing and finding. At the end, he provided several options for our furnace. One was to just replace the part that was causing our immediate problem; however, our furnace was 27 years old and there were signs that a couple of other key parts were on their last legs. The other options were to replace the furnace with different types of furnaces. I wasn't comfortable making the call on what we would do at the end of the service call and that was fine. There was no hard sell to make an option then and there. I really appreciated that. After discussing it, my husband and I decided to replace the furnace with one of the options provided. We called the next day and they sent a couple of folks to replace it within a few days. The two gentleman were professional and thorough, and cleaned up everything before they left. They installed our Nest thermometer rather than the thermometer that came with the furnace, and everything has been working great.

We came home from vacation and found that our heater was not working. We called Comfort Energy and they were able to come out the next day. Dominick arrived early and did a comprehensive inspection of our furnace. Our igniter had gone out and the capacitor was getting close to the end of its life. He gave us different options and got right to work after we made our decision. He got our heat back up and running quickly and answered all of our questions. He was very polite, friendly and professional. We would definitely recommend Comfort Energy if you have any issues with your furnace.

Very quick response. Two technicians responded. A difficult job given limited attic access to furnace. Job completed successfully. Technicians could not have been more polite and accommodating. While I did expect a charge because part had to be replaced, and total job took quite a bit of time, there was no charge as work was accomplished under Comfort warrantee. Highly recommend this business for any heater and/or air conditioning repair/service.

Excellent service and repair! Work was expertly and efficiently done by Deran with the help of Adam. Very prompt, professional, polite and skilled. Our older furnace failed after having been serviced previously this year by one of Comfort's competitors who then refused stand-behind their service. So, I then called Comfort Energy, and they quickly and professionally came to our rescue. Also, very reasonable fees. I'll never call any other Heating and Air Conditioning service provider in the future.

Technician arrived on time and diagnose within a minutes that capicator is bad on the unit and needed to be replaced. He said it will take him 20 mins to complete the job. Offered me to change it same day for $370 which seemed really really high. I wasted $50 which I purchased through Angie list for a diagnostic call which is not credited towards the service. I called another company from yelp. He came next day and completed the job for 120 . It took him 20 minutes to change the coupler and he warranty it for 6 months. This company sell you upfront cheap diagnostic call but then want to do service at an outrageous price.

Comfort Energy is a top notch company. It started with the professionalism of my salesperson, Carlos Gonzalez, and finished with the installation team of Jose and Matt. The entire process was flawless. This is one of the best and most complete jobs I have ever experienced. Nothing was missed and they kept following up on themselves. The salesman checks in to see how the job is going and comes over, at least twice, to see the job himself. The respect level from all of the employees was also a great asset. If you need A/C or a heater I can tell you that these guys are the best. I have already referred these guys.

I bought this for a rental and our tennent said: "The service was excellent. If you need their service for anything else request the same technician".6

The tune up was fine, he thoroughly cleaned and checked the AC, unfortunately he said the valves were not working so he could not refill the coolant, so basically paid for a cleaning. I understand that these tune ups are often to try to up sell however he was telling me I should replace the AC before even seeing how it was doing. When we went to check the temperature differential, my AC was still cooling at 19 degrees, which is close the desired 20 degrees....so I found the up sell a bit premature and unwarranted. He did not persist when we realized it was still working pretty good.

We recently installed solar panels on the roof and continued the 'infrastructure upgrades' with a new furnace and central air conditioner, having cooled the house in summers with breezes and fans and insulation, but no A/C. Comfort Energy was more expensive than other bidders, but my spouse (who drove the process) felt the most detailed options and trade-offs were presented by Carlos Gonzalez. So we went with Comfort. The installation team was VERY professional and courteous, working hard to minimize disruption (we work from home offices, and have dogs...) while doing the work, and leaving an immaculate workspace at the end of each day. The job, by coincidence, finished on the hottest day of the summer thus far and one part of the furnace install involved opening all windows and blasting the furnace on high for a number of minutes to clear out some factory material/fumes. This was fascinating on a 90-100F degree day. That part concluded, we shut the windows, turned on the AC and the house became cool again. Next will come the post-install QC/QA check, and the next 2-3 years of on site tune-ups and services. So we'll see how that goes. But so far so good. We'll never know of course if different equipment would have been better/worse, but we do know that the UI of the experience seemed to go quite well and very, very professionally.

tl;dr - don't use these guys. My wife arranged the service call but we both met him while he was here. The guy pulled off the panel to our AC condenser and started poking it with a voltage meter. After no more than 10 minutes, he says the compressor is broken. He shows me the high resistance of the compressor (or whatever he was poking) as if that proved anything. It was totally stupid (I'm an electrical engineer). He never checked the refrigerant or anything else. He saw the fan running, blamed the compressor, and charged us $60 with several "options". Option 1 for like $2,500 was to have the compressor replaced. Option 2 for $3,800 was to get a new condenser. Option 3 for $5,000 was to get a better new condenser. Option 4 for $8,000 was to replace the whole condenser and unit in the attic. Option 5 for $12,000 was to replace the whole A/C and heater units. I can't believe I paid $60 for such a lousy set of quotes. The guy did nothing. I'm not even sure he knows how a motor works. He would've hoodwinked my wife if I hadn't been there. Maybe that's just how they treat women. I don't know. I compared quotes and shopped around. I found a much better service provider who could replace the condenser for $2,250. He also immediately determined that the refrigerant had leaked out of the system and showed me a gauge reading zero and where it was leaking out. Don't use these guys.

Deron called a half hour before coming out and arrived right on time. He took notes as we walked around the house while I described the issues. We went upstairs as the A/C unit is in the attic and I showed him the location in the laundry room. He got his ladder and tools from the truck and got up into the attic to assess the unit while I adjusted the upstairs and downstairs thermostats so that he could check the dampers. He then went around to the output vents upstairs and downstairs and noted airflow at the output vents. He confirmed that there was definitely less airflow downstairs with that damper open. He repeated the same tests after removing the filter, however, there was not much change. His final assessment is that the duct to downstairs were longer than the upstairs ducts and could either be kinked or leaking from a poor sealing job. The unit is 16 years old and he suggested that the ducts may have been sealed with duct tape which explained can dry out over time and leak. I suggested that since we had a large airflow into the living room downstairs from a different duct branch, maybe we could divert some air to the other branch by closing the vents. He suggested that it wasn't the best way to do that; we got marginally more airflow by doing that. Still I was convinced that damper may be only opening partially. He suggested that it was probably fully open because the living room airflow was very good. I asked if could open the vent and he explained that this would be a by-the-hour charge and I told he to go ahead. He opened the duct and when we tested the damper, it fully opened and closed so that wasn't the issue. Next he wanted to check the outside evaporator unit and suggested a cleaning, which he performed. It was so dirty and looked like new when completed. This was also extra. Deron suggested a 1 year service plan for the furnace and A/C which I purchased. In the end, I was fully satisfied with Deron's work. Deron was extremely professional and fully understood his job. When arrived , he gave me a business card. I asked if I could request him for the next service. He said absolutely. It was a pleasure working with him. I highly recommend Comfort Energy and Deron.
