"The only thing "same day" about this company is how fast they showed up at my house to persuade me to sign a contract with them. Little did I know what I was getting into... My family was encouraged to pack and move out so that they could begin restoration ASAP. The next morning we were out of the house. Unfortunately, Same Day's crew only showed up for a mere few hours...and all they accomplished in that timeframe was setting up a barrier between the kitchen and living room. This was a complete waste of time and money, as we were no longer in the home. The next several days were spent emptying out my contents into their storage, again, only working a few hours a day at most. When asked, they said this was because they "foresee" needing to replace the entire flooring, despite no approval from insurance. To me this felt more like a tactic to further lock me down into the agreement with them (which already had a clause about covering their costs for negotiating with insurance on my behalf). From there things just continued to go downhill...multiple days where the house was standing still and no work being done while we were suffering away from our home. Contractors doing a sloppy job, leaving chemical glue residue on the floor. Front door lock was broken, garbage disposal broken, fridge disconnected from power with all the groceries going bad, furnace disconnected from power leaving us in cold nights without heat... Brand new flooring install was sloppy, leaving HOLES in the hardwood, uneven flooring, baseboards installed with gaps... Some of the contractors they hired were just literally random unemployed people they picked up. Nothing was properly organized. Nothing. You'd think it ends there but it doesn't...we got our home back with missing electrical plates, a partial staircase, damaged windows, disconnected dishwasher, glued up vents and a filthy house. I worked days after the crew left and hired other contractors to restore some of the damage. Some of the damage was too expensive to repair (the window glass are $500 each to replace). Now you'd think that with this quality of work it must have been a great deal, right? Same Day billed my insurance over $90,000. The work basically amounted to replacing the wood flooring on my 1st floor (about 800 sqft), power washing the home, replacing the insulation in the attic and painting both floors. Yes, you are reading correctly. Same Day billed my insurance about the 3rd of the cost to build a new house. And it took them over a month to complete. In the process they constantly lied to me and made up excuses galore. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend this company."

Carpet cleaning services FAQs

Having your carpet cleaned professionally has several benefits for your carpet and your family. First, professionally cleaning your carpets can help thwart dust mite infestations and rid them of dirt, pet dander, particle pollution, and even lead. This can, in turn, help your allergies. Regular professional cleaning can also help prevent mold and mildew growth and even help extend the life of your carpet.

There are six main types of carpet cleaning. Each type is unique in its process of cleaning your floors. Your pro can help suggest the best method based on your carpet material and level of cleaning needed.

  • Steam cleaning uses hot water to clean deep into your carpet. Pressure is applied to the hot water to create steam, moving the chemicals to your carpet fibers.

  • Shampooing leaves foam on the carpet fibers to break up the dirt and stains before removal.

  • Dry cleaning only tackles the dirt on the surface level that hasn’t set in yet.

  • Carbonated cleaning uses bubbles to move debris to the surface of the carpet for removal.

  • Hot water extraction cleaning combines steam cleaning with ammonia or an acid solution to help liquefy debris.

  • Bonnet carpet cleaning uses a cleaning detergent and a specialized cleaning device that cleans the carpet's surface.

The cost for professional carpet cleaning is $180 for the average homeowner. However, you could end up paying as low as $80 or as high as $375 or more, depending on how much carpeting you have in your home and the type of cleaning you’ll have done, plus any add-ons like furniture and upholstery cleaning. For example, bonnet carpet cleaning averages around $150 since it’s more surface-level. However, due to its complexity, hot water extraction cleaning averages closer to $400.

Sometimes, carpets can no longer be saved and must be replaced. There are signs that you need to replace your carpet, such as stains that are impossible to remove or a smell that lingers on your carpet. And sometimes, the age of the carpet is the tell-tale sign that it needs replacing. Most carpet manufacturers say carpets should last for 10 years with proper care.

How often you should clean your carpets is really dependent on how much dirt and traffic they see. At a minimum, your carpets should be cleaned once or twice a year. However, depending on your lifestyle, having them cleaned more often is not unrealistic. If you have pets or children, consider having them deep-cleaned quarterly. If you have severe allergies, having your carpets deep cleaned every two months might be best.
