Right from the get-go I knew I wanted to hire SAE to build our patio cover and new BBQ pit area. From the estimating process onward, Scott was exceptionally helpful in planning, designing, and building our dream patio cover and BBQ area. We could not be happier with his work and it has completely transformed our backyard. Anyone that comes over comments how much it has helped not just our backyard look better, but how it also makes inside the house feel cozier too. Scott takes the time to make sure the installation is done both up to code and aesthetically appealing; I completely trust him for any future projects that might come up and I highly recommend him.

Before these projects began we requested estimates from five different companies. One didn't show, one was unbelievably arrogent and rude, a couple were ridiculously high and then there was SAE Builders. They showed up on time for the estimate and it was immediately obvious that they were experienced and competent. The estimate was accurate, detailed and fair. The choice was easy. Price and Shaun arrived promptly on the days scheduled and were prepared and professional in every aspect. This remained the case throughout all the projects. Kyle assisted with the painting and was also professional and curteous. The crew never failed to carefully clean up after themselves. We have been highly impressed with Scott and the crew at SAE Builders. Throughout many projects at two homes we have very rarely experienced the level of professionalism, curteousy and competence that SAE Builders exemplifies.

Scott was professional, knowledgeable, prompt and helpful. He kept in touch when his proposal was delayed by a few days (unlike some other contractors we met with who didn't bother to follow through with even a phone call or email to say that they got too busy with other projects and wouldn't be submitting their proposals as promised). Before we met Scott, he informed me over the phone that he was very busy and would have had to fit us into his schedule as he was able, should we decide to hire him for the work. I appreciated his honesty, he sounded very knowledgeable and like somebody we would want to interview anyway, so he came to our home and prepared a proposal (very professional proposal, I might add). His pricing, although in-line with some others we received, was more than we wanted to invest. We did receive a couple of proposals that were completely over-the-top price-wise, and Scott's was not one of those. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being lowest pricing and 10 being highest, Scott's pricing was a 4-5. I'm sure he would have worked with us on that to some extent, but we were eager to get going on the project and so decided on another contractor before talking with him about negotiating on his pricing. I would most definitely call him again in the future, however, and can recommend him for being professional, prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable.

I did not actually get a full quote from them, just a partial one. I would have wanted to be more detailed.

Scott arrived on time for the estimate. He was professional, likeable and knowledgeable. We went over options with regards to how the structure would be attached to the house and where/how the posts would be. He suggested to strengthen the posts by putting redwood inside of them because I informed him that I would be having an iron railing installed in between each of the posts. Great idea. I received the quote either that evening or the next day, lightning fast. I had prior estimates but when I met and spoke with Scott, his knowledge and plan sealed the deal. Plus, his pricing was competitive with my other bids. Scott and his crew arrived early in the morning on the day promised. The guys worked hard, no bumps in the road, no attitudes and the entire project was completed in one day. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end, stress free. It was a pleasure doing business with this company.

Scott was very polite and professional. The estimate was fair. I did not use his services as the location of his company made it difficult to connect.

Scott was very generous with his time and visited the site several times to help us with the design. When we changed our mind (several times) he did not make a big deal and was happy to adjust the plans and give us a detailed estimate. Scott and his crew work very fast! The sub-contractors they work with - Concrete, insulation, Drywall and Stucco, were all professional and did an excellent job. Scott was very responsive to us when we requested changes and additions during the construction, and we are happy with the results. He was able to research and find some alternatives to specific issues, and is open to new ideas and innovation. We are looking forward to working with Scott on our next project. Price: It is possible we could have saved a few hundred dollars here and there on this $30,000 project, but with our busy schedules, having someone we can trust is worth much more. On Time: All good contractors have several prjects going on, and this was made clear to us at the start. Once we started, we were impressed with the rate of progress from day to day. Building Site was always left clean and orderly at the end of the day. Trash was hauled away regularly. Quality: In almost every phase of the construction the quality of materials and workmanship exceeded what we expected. Communication: Scott was very good at keeping open and on-going communication with us, asking questions, giving answers, and updating us on the progress and any problems he encountered. Scott is a nice, honest guy and an excellent craftsman- a hard to find combination in the construction field. Highly recommended!

They did a perfect job. They always cleaned up after themselves, very thorough, and professional. It was a unique job and they were willing to work with us and make it all work.

It was first class. It was a huge project and they orchestrated and coordinated well. They did it above and beyond the usual contractor quality.
