SAE Builders - Alumawood Patio Covers & Windows

Scott designed and built patio covers for our new home. They turned out beautiful and we are very happy with them. He did all of the electrical work for the fans also. He was professional and we would highly recommend him to everyone!

I just moved to San Diego and I needed the wooden, fungus filled, termite infested awning replaced with an Alumawood awning that would not attract fungus or termites! I interviewed three contractors and SAE's "can do" attitude was wonderful after talking to two other Alumawood awning installers. They did a wonderful job and exceeded my expectations. They were very polite and left the yard immaculate!

Worker arrived at my house at the stated time. Worker started work and completed necessary work for first county inspection. After the inspection was completed the project had to be put on hold due to backorder of the ceiling panels. It took 3 or 4 days for the ceiling panels to get in. Once the panels were in the project resumed and was completed in about two days. County inspectors came back and did the final inspection and the project was complete. I'm very pleased i decided to go with SAE Builders. I would use the again and definitely recommend their service.

We contacted them way back and we ended up using them in October. Removed all the old large wood patio cover and replaced it with aluminum. Excellent company! Very professional and always cleaned up after their job. We were very happy with their work. Very reliable and punctual!

Smoothly and professionally

I had met with several other contractors prior to SAE Builders. I really had a good feeling after meeting with Scott, that I decided to hire him. Scott was very helpful, he met with me and listened to my concerns, he went over several design ideas. I decided to go with a roof mount application. He was very prompt emailing me a proposal, and pictures of a roof mount application that he did on a prior job. I love the way the patio cover came out, the taller roof mount really makes the patio look larger. The workers were very professional, courteous, and clean. I would most definitely recommend them to my friends, and family.

They are wonderful! They are honest, good, and hardworking workers. Any time I need them, they get right back to me. All workers are wonderful! They were here on time and they did good work. They don't use junk stuff when they bring in stuff. They bring in quality stuff. I won't go with anybody else.

All the work was done per the estiamtes and the understanding that we had with the owner. he answered all our questions and we felt confident that all his work was done professionally.

From the very first contact Scott and his team were very helpful and professional. He met with us and got our ideas then he sent a plan and proposal. He took care of all the permits and details. We left for work one morning and when we returned the old room was gone! About a week later they returned and completed the new area in a few days. I was amazed! Each day they cleaned up after themselves before they left and even helped with the dog. The dog absolutely loved the whole crew and seemed sad to see them go. The quality of the work is wonderful. I never expected it to look so good. The fans, lights and electrical outlets are perfect. My husband, who works in facilities and has a background in electrical work, was very impressed. There were no cutting corners anywhere. The price was reasonable especially for the quality. I would hire them again in a second!

I am very happy. The new cover looks beautiful and I no longer need to worry about termites, wood rot, etc. What an improvement to my backyard. Scott and his workers showed up ON TIME, if not earlier. I did not do a price comparison because the 2nd estimate I asked for was a no show. I really liked Scott (and I got his company from Angie's List) so instead of wasting any more time I gave the job to him. No regrets what-so-ever.

Scott, was very helpful and professional with his follow ups and providing detailed information on product detail and how to protect yourself by hiring licensed contractors. I did not use Scott but do recommend him based on my experience with him.

I don't normally write reviews, however, knowing how hard it is to find an honest and reliable company, that also follows through and provides top of the line final product, I chose to take the time to share our experience with Scott and SAE Builders. Scott was honest and knowledgeable about requiring a permit, working with our homeowners association, and choosing which patio cover would best serve all of our needs. From the very first meeting, until the final light bulb was screwed in, we were overwhelmed with the professionalism. The crews were on time, courteous, respectful, cleaned the area each and every night...and completed the job on time, exactly as quoted. I would highly recommend Scott and his company to anyone who wants an honest quote, creative input at the level you desire, and absolutley beautiful final product. We feel that the patio cover that was added to our home has added beauty, energy efficiency, and thousands of dollars in value. A+ experience, start to finish, and we could not be happier.

These guys rock. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat. We did original quote requests in July and we finally got around to having them start work in November. Scott and team were patient with our crazy schedule. They were courteous, very professional and have a good sense of humor! Their work is top-notch. All our new neighbors were most impressed. We can hardly wait for our sweltering summer heat to return so we can truly enjoy their work. Our backyard has a pool. There were never any aluminum shavings or metal bits in the pool or anywhere. They cleaned up perfectly every night. The build went very quickly once they were able to start. They handled the permit process with the City as well. Scott's team was great, very professional, on time, cleaned up and the results are terrific. We had two Alumawood patio covers installed. One was covered, with fan, approx 12 x 18. The 2nd was slotted, approx 18 x 24. Both look exceptional, and we would use Scott and his guys again.

SAE Builders (Scott Egbert) was hired to install 6 new replacement windows and replacement exterior siding. Scott and crew removed 500 sq. ft old wood siding on exterior walls, old windows and old wood trim around windows. Installed 1/2and quot; plywood sheet, moisture wrap and new Hardie-Plank Siding. Installed Hardi-Plank trim around some windows where necessary. Windows installed were; 3 each nail-in and 3 each retrofit windows Delivered quality result despite several errors made by the window factory chosen by owner. These factory errors caused problems which SAE identified. SAE made necessary corrections w/ factory to make sure the project was completed on-time. Scott worked with factory to re-make 2 of the windows measured wrong and written up wrong by factory rep and had them deliver correct windows within 2 days to keep job on-track. SAE made corrections to unforeseen problems he found when he removed siding installed by original builder. The original home builder (starts with a and quot;Cand quot; and ends with and quot;Xand quot;) installed only 50% of the required fiberglass insulation in the walls covered by the old siding removed / scheduled for replacement by SAE. Scott bought the insulation required to fill empty wall cavities in this area and installed it at no additional charge. In addition, he replaced 3 roof tiles that were cracked in error by his crew promptly. SAE cleaned up with vacuum inside house where required by their installation. SAE delivered a quality job that looks great. I am planning on using Scott again on future projects.

Scott was responsive and followed up on my inquiry quickly. He was able to come out to my area and offered an estimate within a day of the visit to our home. Scott gave us an appointment for install for a couple of weeks after we accepted the bid but was able to come out and complete the work earlier. The two guys that came to do the install were prompt and did excellent work. The patio cover looks great and we are very happy.

Very professional. Easy to work with. They listened and did everything we asked with a smile, even though we changed our mind more than once on what we wanted . I have to say that they really went the extra mile and we would definitely call them again. Also their guys were very polite, were on time and cleaned up the mess daily until the job was completed which I really appreciated. We replaced a wooden lattice patio cover with an alumawood one. Very happy with the results. I think Scott is honest and doesn't try to push you spend more money than you need to. Good job.

I called the contact phone number to talk about getting an estimate for a new roof to my patio and constructing a shade for my side yard. Was called at end of day (3 hours later) and spoke to Steve I think. I am single and I work. My available times to meet are every evening, weekends and Thursday mornings. I called this company because they said they service San Bernardino. Well, I don't think I've ever spoken to anyone who tried so hard not to get my business. He said he couldn't come by unless he had a job in the area, and he didn't have any plans to be in my area. I told him the job isn't urgent and I can wait.. He said my available times would not work for him. I'm glad he is busy enough, but maybe he should either hire more people. I told him I guess I will have to keep looking. As far as and quot;would I use this provider in the future, I would like to mark and quot;unsureand quot; instead off no or yes.

The men were very professional, polite and cleaned up after themselves. they paid attention to detail and painted the wood on the trim of the house where they had cut and replaced some wood before installing the cover over it. a building permit was pulled and the cover passed inspection. mine was an unusual patio cover because of the design of the roof but they figured out a way to make it work. One company I had give me an estimate said I would have to have another contractor come out to fix the way the roof line was before he could start and SAE did it all. my son went over the completed patio and stated that he thought this was high quality workmanship. I could not be happier with the completed project.

SAE Builders was subcontracted to do the work by the contractor I had hired for several tasks. SAE built a 2-car, free-standing, gabled carport adjacent to my home. The work was done in a timely and professional manner, including the staining of the re-sawn lumber to match the home. Overall, I am very satisfied with the work done and would not hesitate to recommend them for similar work.
