The two men who came out were nice, but they didn't smell very well;.stale cigarette smell. Gross. It was obvious one was a new employee; not a problem as everyone has to learn. The other seemed to have been around a little longer, but seemed unsure of the pricing of a simple task. That made me feel as though either they had a new pricing list or they were both new to the field. I told the plumbers what I knew was wrong with the stem and I needed to replace the rubber gasket. They explained they could only replace the stem; to which I agreed. How much could that be, right? THEN they gave me a estimate of $251.40. Anyone who knows plumbing knows this job takes less than 5 minutes to pull an old stem and replace it with the new stem. The standard Pfister stem at Home Depot is $11.97. I called for a plumber NOT because I couldn't do the job, but I have been ill and would have happily paid up to $60.00 to have it done. I have used Discount Plumbing over the years for many projects I didn't have time to do myself. The last was for a flange replacement on the toilet for $300. This was last year. $300 was very reasonable for that particular job, and they did a fabulous job! However, $251.40 for a stem replacement? Seriously, I booted them out of here with an and quot;Are you SERIOUS? For a 5 minute job and a $10 item?and quot; They gave me the cacamamie line about how they have NEW MANAGEMENT and have to charge for loading their trucks and stocking items........ WHATEVER. This is a PRIME example of a company trying to take advantage of a homeowner. I will not use them again. The employee said, and quot;I'm just the messenger.and quot; I opened the door and sent them on their way. I didn't mean to be rude, but I was very angry at their lack of professionalism and their willingness to rip off a customer without even consulting their company to check and see if their pricing list might have been printed with errors. I did call the company and was not allowed to speak to the Supervisor, but their Operator Britney said she would file a complaint and the Supervisor is supposed to call me. I had my daughter drive me to Home Depot where I bought a new stem and replaced it AND the seat in less than 5 minutes. I don't blame the employees who came to give the estimate, but I do blame the Owners and their Management (probably the same people), for thinking we are all stupid people and wouldn't know the difference. Shame on them all.

Good, he was on time showed me what needed to be fixed and how much it would cost. Then he was quick and cleaned up after himself and showed me the completed work.

The toilet in my rental apartment property overstressed the sewer, and I called a Home Warranty company I use for repairs. They sent another company out who did not repair the toilet and could not assess it because the water had been shut off. Without the shut off service, the apartment would have been totally flooded and it had to wait for the cleaning of the sewer line to be completed. So, they called and said they could not address the sewer problem. The warranty company searched and could not find anyone to come out that day. I called Discount Plumbing who originally said they were overbooked and would call if they had a cancellation. They called immediately when they had a cancellation. This was great. They did fix the sewer problem but again, even though I had talked about the toilet, they did not check it out. Then, when it backed up again on a Saturday ( the next day) the said they would come out both to me and the warranty company. We waited ALL DAY and I finally called them when my tenant called and had not heard anything. They then said when I called them, at 7:00 P. M. that they do not do service on the weekend for the warranty company. This started at 10 a.m.! The entire day was lost and I then had to start all over for a Sunday service for the toilet and the tenant and young grandson were without for another 24 hours. The tech claimed he tried to contact me, but after I had originally corrected him with my correct phone number, he apparently kept calling the wrong one, using the wrong area code. He did not contact the warranty company to find out the problem with the number, but rather, just blew it off as my being non-responsive. These were all the wrong answers. As I said, I have used them in the past, but probably will not in the future.

Just goes to show - if there is banging on the valves, kick them out - they don't know what they are doing

I had no water. The plumber repaired the pipe in 2 hours and did a wonderful job. It was an excellent job.

I was very happy with my service from Discount Plumbers. The tech came out to fix our problem promptly and was very professional in his demeanor. There was a small issue that arose afterwards and they came to fix it at no additional charge.

Ours broke in the middle of dinner service and they came out right away. They weren't able to fix it that night because they couldn't get the water heater that night, but they were out the next morning and had it fully operational by lunch time. They really worked hard to get us back up and I really appreciated it.

Really well. They got right out and even told me about an online coupon I could use.

Good thing I called them! The master plumber (Rodger) showed up on time, and got right to work. He was able to cut the lock off of the yard gate (realtor failed to take care of this, but that is another story) and access the main drain, the kitchen drain, etc. There was no drain cover and he found a tennis ball, a large rock, and part of a sprinkler head in the drain. I left him to do his job and was able to return to work. Great service, peace of mind, and I highly recommend them.

I called them when a pipe underneath my house broke and water started going everywhere. It was an emergency and I needed someone right away because water was going everywhere. The office person sent me an email confirmation and a second email came with a picture of the plumber coming to my house (I thought that was pretty neat because I am a woman and live by myself). The plumber, Roger, showed up in uniform with a company photo ID badge and got to work right away. It took him several days of going under my house to fix/repair everything but he did a wonderful job and was very personable. A week or so after he was done the office called me to make sure everything was okay and that I was satisfied, I thought that was pretty neat too. I don't call plumbers often but this was a good experience. The only thing I didn't like was the price, but they did a good job and made me feel comfortable. I would highly recommend them.

I had tried to make this a quick do-it-yourself repair with a plunger and a flush method. Didn't work. In fact my efforts to flush with a garden hose overflowed the sink in the other bathroom--gray water everywhere! The plumber came and looked things over. He tackled this by snaking the shower drain. He did not have instant success. But, after much labor with the snake, the drain was again handling the flow.

Work done was fair but way over priced. Would not use again!

The plumber came out within the time I was quoted, and he was able to fix the problem immediately. I was very happy with their service and will use them again if needed.

I had used this plumbing service twice before and the plumbers that were sent out did a good job and were very personable. The plumber that they sent out this time was very personable also. I did feel that they were expensive but how does one compare prices when you really don't know what is going on. I called them because I had a leak under the sink and I'm alone and have no one to give me advice on these matters.

This by far is one of the best plumbing companies I have come upon. Two weeks ago I was hanging out at my cousins place in Lodi, and all of the sudden her sink backs up. This was a huge disaster since we were expecting a dinner party within a few hours. Both of us were frustrated and just wanted to get the problem taken care of immediately. I immediately looked on-line (I don't trust the yellow pages, too much drama and not enough sufficient info) plus the Internet provides instant reviews and easy access. I called Discount Plumbing (they had a cute superman logo)and they were out within 40 minutes. The tech was very knowledgeable and professional. He not only explained the problem but also gave us in detail of what may have caused the problem, once he fully examined the problem he gave us a few options. (which I loved! It's always good to know what your options are) At the end, Discount Plumbing saved the day and did an awesome job. I would definitely use this company again.

I was very happy with the company and Tony, my plumber. While Tony was willing to work in the water and mud under the house, he explained how it would take additional time and expense. He suggested the second visit once the area was dry to save me money. Thanks Tony.

The plumber took three lengthy cell phone calls, and fiddled around a simple pedestal sink for 90 minutes. He kept showing me more pieces and telling me that "everything had to be replaced." I was charged almost $400.00 for a minor job that involved less that one hour of work. The cost rose three times while he was working on the bathroom sink. Finally getting really angry I stopped payment on their check. Only then did anyone at the company respond to my previously ignored complaints. The original plumber and two supervisors came-out and re-did the job at no additional cost. Three months later the sink leaks again. Now I am told that there is no warranty on their work. For an outrageous price, and a big headache, I got three months out of my bathroom sink. The job has been redone by an excellent Handyman for less than $100.00.
