Bruce was very responsive and squeezed in my work quickly.

I called Bruce because I thought I had a bad breaker. He told me to try something before he came out -- and it worked. He could EASILY have come out and done that -- and charged me... but he didn't. I wish I could give him an A+!

I can't say enough about how prompt and professional 5 Star Electric was for me.

I called 2 electricians from Angie's list regarding work on our home sensor backyard lighting. One did not return my call, but Bruce of 5Star Electric, returned my weekend call early the next Monday morning and left a message indicating he wasn't taking any new work because he was going on a vacation soon. He apologized for not being available but left his number if I wanted to talk with him. I decided to call him back to get another referral from him. When we talked I told him the specific problems with the lighting and he said it didn't sound that involved and he would fit me in for the following Friday. Tuesday morning I received a call from Bruce and he said he was in our area and had a delay, waiting on some framers to finish work before he could do an installation. He asked if I would be available later that afternoon and we set up the time. Bruce was prompt, both he and Hestin were professional, listened and communicated well, focused on the work at hand and immediately involved themselves in resolving my lighting problem. Initially, I thought his fee was high, but when I saw their work ethic in action, overall professionalism, I was fine with their charge. Incidentally, I live in Morro Bay and have learned the hard way not to hire a skilled tradesperson that arrives with a surfboard or fishing rod hanging out their truck. On several occasions I did not get a full days work out of those people. Bruce had a clean organized truck with none of the aforementioned distractions. He will be my resource for future electrical needs and I recommend him without any reservation.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. I had to pay for the part so it was an additional $35. He was a reasonable guy. I didn't have anything to judge the price against. I might possibly use him again.

I have used Bruce a couple of times. He is very honest and reliable. He works hard to find the problem and fixes it. He is for sure my go to electrician! I highly recommend him.

Bruce was accommodating and worked with the tenant's schedule. He checked out the fixture and determined the cause of the problem efficiently. He politely and thoroughly explained the problem. He went the extra mile when he caught an odor of gas in the house and determined that the water heater pilot light had gone out. He remedied that problem as well.

Bruce at 5 Star promptly responded. He was there early the following day. I was very impressed with his knowledge and skill. He made short work of finding the issue with my electrical problem. I have worked with electrical through the years,and after researching my problem on the internet most sites said that a dropped neutral could be very hard and expensive to find and fix. Within an hour 5 star was done. Best $100.00 dollars I ever spent I wont hesitate to call Bruce again and highly recommend his Co.

This is a "revised" review. Brian was responsive and punctual. I met him at my house at 3:00 p.m. as agreed upon. I have a fountain that has an egg lite that was not working. I was not sure if it was the fixture, the outlet or the wall controller. Brian was not familiar with the Insteon Smarthome product and called the 800 number listed on the box I had saved. After being on the phone for 5-10 minutes he attempted to reprogram the switch, but was not successful. He let me know that the egg lite was faulty and should be replaced. He left at approximately 3:45 p.m. There was a lack of communication at the end of the visit and their was no discussion about cost and the end result was a bad experience with Brian and 5 Star Electric and a poor "angie's list" rating from me. Brian made a point of getting in contact with me and we both took some responsibility in the lack of communication which resulted in a bad experience for both of us. I told him I appreciated him making the effort to get in touch with me and stated I would rewrite the "angie's list" review. He said it wasn't necessary, he just wanted the opportunity to try and make the situation right.

Bruce did an outstanding job. He knows his trade very well. He took time to explain what he was doing and why. On his first visit he took care of all of the major issues and gave me some simple instructions to see if we could figure out why I had one bulb that kept dimming shortly after it was turned on. He followed up shortly after and came back out and took care of that issue. I live in an older mobile home and he was very conscientious about checking wiring and making sure that it is as safe as possible. This was greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend this company. The customer service is great and the electrical knowledge is above any other electrician I have worked with. His hourly charge is fair and affordable.

We bought an Angie's List coupon. He emailed right away, and returned our call immediately, coming out to our house the same day. All installation was done 2 working days after. Excellent job.

He is prompt and came out as promised. He was very helpful, not just in fixing my electrical, but advising me on the next steps I needed to take. He is efficient with his use of time. The cost was much less than expected. I will definitely use him again.

He came the first weekday after I contacted him. and I was very pleased with everything.

Bruce responded to my house the same day I called. He was was dressed in a clean professional manner and his work truck was clean and impressive. He was a pleasure to talk to and work with. I was present while he did his assessment of the electrical problem and he talked me through his assessment and explained what the problem was. He took the time to explain what was going on and what needed to be done. He never made me feel like I was wasting his time while he patiently explained everything to me. He was cheerful and positive throughout the entire process.

Bruce Singh, was excellent in responding from the first call. He came and saw what was needed and made suggestion as to how many lights were best for the proper ambiance. We agreed to install the lights Monday after his initial estimate on the prior Thursday, he came promptly at the agreed time of 9am and had completed the installation by 3pm. What sets Bruce apart from most other contractor is that his honesty, cost saving ideas, and his commitment to his word is refreshing in today's general attitude. I would rate him 5A plus. Bruce is awesome! We initially called him when I blew the power to our hot tub at 8:00 at night. We called him after hours and he called us back quickly. Came to the house the next day, and ended up not charging me when the fix to the problem was pretty easy. He then helped me solve a problem we had with an outlet we use for our fountain. He came up with good ideas, was prompt in responding to calls and texts, and worked very efficiently. He also seems to be a very nice person. Would definitely recommend to other people.

The provider showed up a little bit early and went right to work. He was fast, friendly, polite and professional. I feel I got a lot of bang for my buck and would use 5-Star again. In addition, he was pleasant to deal with and I always felt safe with him in my home.

Wow, Bruce showed up exactly when he said he would and discovered the problem right away. He was nice, professional, and knew precisely what was wrong and fixed the problem. He discussed with us what was wrong, what he recommended, and what had to be done.

This is the third time that I used Bruce for helping at my home. He is very nice, effecient, knowledgable and affordable. I am very picky about who I work with and it was a wonderful experience each time. While completing an electrical project, Bruce detected a pipe leaking in my home that would have otherwise gone undetected and ths saved me thousands of dollars of potential damage. He is honest and easy going which helps me to feel comfortable asking for his help. All of his work is high quality and he has been the most reliable person that has worked on my home this year.

Bruce determined the wiring was correct and to code. He put some additional screws in the assembly to discourage it from vibrating. He called back twice to determine if the fan had come on (thermostatically controlled) so I could determine if it was quiet enough. Oh yes, without my asking he took several pictures of the fan, housing, and electrical hook-up and emailed them to me. Top notch service!

Bruce showed up on time (actually a few minutes early). He did the work in the time he estimated it would take. The total cost was a little lower than the estimate. Basically everything you want in a contractor. As far as the quality of work, I am not an electrician but I tried out the welder and everything worked well. I would definitely use 5-Star Electric again.

UPDATE: 10/20/13 - Bruce was kind enough to settle this matter out of court and satisfied my concerns - and was very professional in doing so. Many companies would not have done this, so I do give credit to his follow up and wanting to make things right. ------------------------------------------------------------ I was going to do this myself but when I got into the attic there were some areas that I didn't feel comfortable in, so I thought I would just call some professionals to do it for me. Disaster... Bruce and his brother are nice guys, I'll give you that. But they just don't seem to be very experienced. While they were in my attic, they broke an AC drip line which damaged my living room ceiling with water, they drilled a hole through my master bath ceiling (they "missed" the wall they were trying to drill into), and they also drilled into multiple wires for my alarm system which caused my alarm not to work. I had to call my alarm company who repaired the damaged wires - cost $326 to fix. I also have estimates to repair the hole in the bath ceiling and the water damage which will cost about $1300. When I asked Bruce for (only) a refund of his services at first, his exact words were "...we both were/are aware of the consequences drilling into walls..", basically saying it was as much my fault as it was his. RIDICULOUS. I hired what I thought were professionals to avoid these types of problems! He "knocked off" $75 because of the hole in my bath ceiling, which isn't near enough to have it fixed properly, not to mention the other $1626 to fix the alarm and water damage. After I get one more estimate I will be filing with small claims court since Bruce is unwilling to discuss this further. Beware.

Everything was great. Bruce did a quality job, was easy to work with, and charged reasonable rates. Furthermore, he was very professional and arrived on time.

I can't say enough good about Bruce and his work ethic. He showed up exactly when promised, worked hard, asked when there were options to consider and just did a really good job. I'm very pleased with the work that he did for me. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again or recommend him to other people.

When my smoke detector failed Friday in the middle of the night, I assumed that I was going to have to wait until Monday to get it fixed -- and didn't look forward to dealing with it going off in the middle of the night again! I called 5 Star Electric on Saturday morning and was pleasantly surprised to have a real person answer the phone -- and to tell me they could be out within a couple of hours.... I really like to work with locally owned businesses - and especially with young businesses, so it was great to meet Bruce and experience his professionalism, expertise, and great customer service. It's also good to know that I now have a trusted local electrician when I need one! Highly recommended!
