We were able to make the cord situation marginally better but not much improvement. He was not familiar with the file sychronization program or the security program I was using so it was difficult for him to determine if they were running properly or not. As far as the printer running on the wireless network, it did but then it would not scan documents for some reason so I had to plug it back in. All in all, not much progress made.

I got the Big Deal for two hours of computer labor for $69 (half price). Dan arrived promptly and did everything I needed, including unpacking the new computer and monitor, and lifting the old computer and monitor off the desk. Some big tech companies won't help you in this way, they insist that you clear off the desk first. He connected the computer, monitor and speakers, connected the computer to my existing printer, and downloaded the printer driver (including printing a test sheet). He made sure that the software that I had purchased as part of the computer was on there, and installed one additional program from a CD that I'd purchased. He copied all my backed up files from my external hard drive onto the new computer, and installed the antivirus software I already had onto the new computer. He also went to a website where you can download a lot of the popular free programs (like Skype, Google Earth, etc.) all at once, asked me which ones I wanted, and did the download. I had a lot of questions that Dan answered, but beyond that, he gave me some tips about websites that have good products for security and backups, and services like tutorials. He also gave me advice about faster internet providers. This job was more complicated and time-consuming than I thought, and before we knew it, four hours had gone by. But Dan only charged me for one additional hour ($65), not two. He even took away my 15-year-old monitor to be recycled, which he had offered to do, I hadn't even asked him. When he left, a couple of programs were still downloading because of my slow internet speed, but he called me the next day to ask me if they downloaded OK. I also e-mailed him with a couple of questions later in the week, which he answered right away. I would definitely hire Dan in the future and recommend West L.A. Computer fix to others.

He did a really good job, if something goes wrong I am going to call him again. He has relatively good prices.

Tech came on on nest day after we spoke to him about our issues with Microsoft and Exel. He is very knowledgeable and very helpful.We have called this gentleman on several occasions and have been very satisfied with his his work.

I have not used it yet. However, he has been personable and I found him knowledgeable.

Our main business computer would not turn on. After reaching out to several tech companies who could only get us in "tomorrow", Dan offered to be there THAT afternoon. He came on time, diagnosed and fixed the problem, and was gone within the hour. He was fast, professional, and courteous. I HIGHLY recommend him.

He arrived promptly to help me set up a laptop. Very helpful,knowledgeable and patient. Answered every single question with ease and everything is working great. Will absolutely use him again when I need computer assistance.

I purchased Dan's services as an Angie's list big deal. Dan was punctual and professional. He found that my computer had other problems, most notably corrupted files. He stayed two hours and tried to correct the problem . After two hours, he told me he needed to return to resolve the issue. I asked him to come back the next day as I was desperate to get my printer working. He made time for me and gave me an appointment the next day. He found the problem. I have my computer and printer working perfectly now. I hired two other computer technicians who charged me a lot of money and did not correctly diagnose the problem. I am very happy with West LA Computer Fix and would highly recommend this company to friends.

Dan was punctual and professional. He did exactly what we needed.He also has set up my computer so he can help me back up everything (software included) remotely.

Dan is excellent. Extremely responsive and responsible. Fixed the problem. And he knows all the right outside resources (such as, data recovery).

He did a very good job and was very knowledgeable, but my computer was unfortunately beyond repair. Dan was very professional, punctual, knowledgeable, and helpful in answering my questions, though. I would recommend him to anyone else in need of such a tune-up.

my computer and printer were totally screwed up--Dan came over and fixed both perfectly--then we had a problem installing a MS upgrade--he worked on it at my home and via remote connection--thing just would not take (probably due to some nonsense in my pc)--anyway Dan kept trying but due to the long installation time we agreed to do that bit sometime later. Everything he did was great, on time, knows his stuff, very professional--could not be happier to have found him and would be very happy to use him and will use him again!

The service was fine. He came out right away and we even had a problem later and he came right out. We will be using his services again. The price was great and his response was as well.

Although he was late, he called ahead to notify me and , once here, he ignored the clock and focused on the work at hand. Not only did he run over the alloted time, he followed up with me that night and again the next day! I am very impressed.

Due to receiving a message about running out of disk space on my 6 year old Dell desktop, I searched Angle's List for someone that I could call for assistance. I noticed all the excellent reviews that West L.A. Computer Fix had received, so I called Dan for assistance. Even though I am not in his service area (I am in Glendale), he had no problem with coming to my home. We made an appointment for the next day, and Dan arrived on schedule. He immediately went to work on my computer. When he was able to ascertain the problem, we decided that it would be best if he took my tower back to his place of business to run multiple tests on it. Dan called me the next day to tell me that he had done the following: - Imaged the hard drive - Installed a new WD internal hard drive (500GB) - Installed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware rogue scan - Scanned and performed disk cleanup We made an appointment for the next day, and again Dan arrived at my home right on schedule. He reconnected my tower, and checked its performance once again. I know that I need a new computer, but Dan has certainly bought me some extra time, for my old computer is new again! Since Dan had made two visist to my home, plus fixed my computer, I felt that he was not charging me enough. I asked Dan to raise his fee, for his service was worth every cent! I certainly recommend Dan and plan to use his service for all my computer needs.

Our 11 year old PC was definitely showing its age. Dan came out and looked it over. He noted that our operating system (Windows XP) was close to its official "end of life". Based on his analysis, we chose his option of building us a new system, which is, of course, faster with more memory and disk storage. He migrated our data from the old system to the new one with just a few technical hiccoughs along the way. When it turned out that our old speakers wouldn't work with the new system, he went out of his way to pick up a new set, saving us a trip. He got us oriented to the new operating system (Windows 8.1), which does take some getting used to! My non-technical wife appreciated his patience in helping her find her way around the new user interface. All in all, we had a good experience with Dan.

Great job. Not an easy fix; demanding client.

Checked out PC and made a suggestion to replace motherboard.

Dan has made house calls several times for my Dell tower, with good results. We keep in touch by e-mail about any issues that come up. A recent spate of blue screens occurred and Dan suggested a remote session where he accesses my computer from his computer long distance and can make changes to help the problem. It went well, with no inconvenience to me at all. He still has an on-site change to make, so we will schedule that shortly.

In late August 2013, my Dell computer with Windows 7 died & I couldn't get the PC to load Windows. Since I had a 2 year warranty, I first called Costco's technical support to resolve the problem and after doing various diagnostic tests, I was told that I would have to restore the operating system to factory defaults. I was concerned that my last backup didn't work and I wanted a local computer technician to make sure my files were backed up and fix the computer. Based on the great Angie's List reviews, I decided to call Dan Zivetz of West LA Computer Fix and purchased the "Big Deal" for two hours of on-site service for $75. Dan was very responsive and he was willing to come to my home and work on Labor Day. Dan arrived promptly at 11am and performed a series of steps to try to fix the dead computer for almost 2 hours. Then he left for a lunch break while the System File Check ran for 3 hours. He came back to my house about 4:15pm to continue more steps but the computer ended up in a Windows 7 "start repair loop". After 2 more hours we both agreed that I had a bad hard disk. Dan was able to backup my files onto an external drive before he left for the evening. I had to ship my computer to Costco's Repair Center where it was discovered that my PC had viruses and a corrupt Windows 7 operating system. Once I got my repaired computer back from Costco, I was able to install all my files that Dan had been able to back up. In early November, I called Dan to assist me with recommendations for backing up my files and suggestions for anti-virus software and malware. He was willing to work on a Sunday and spent 2 hours with me to download a free trial of backup & recovery software. Overall, I was pleased with the Big Deal purchase. I'm happy that I found a computer technician that lives in West LA, and is willing to work on weekends and holidays. I have used him two times and will use him again. He was an A in just about everything. I ranked him a B in professionalism because Dan showed up for the first visit with remnants of shaving cream still on his face. But that was really not an issue because Dan has the technical expertise to resolve problems with your PC.

He is easy to work with and I would hire him for any computer problem.
