Description of Work: I needed some help figuring out why my electrical system seems to come and go, and in particular the electrical connection to the pump for my fish pond. I told the men who came that there was something wrong with the pond connection but they checked it once, it worked for them, so they dismissed me as the dumb woman (I actually am a competent lawyer; but must admit my knowledge about fixing electrical problems is extremely limited). So they took their check and left. Since then, I have had at least four major issues with the pond pump stopping and I have to worry that I may not be able to get it going and my fish will die. Fortunately, the company that cleans my fish pond has been more responsive and so far, we have been able to get the pump to restart. It turns out that I was correct and it was is a problem with the GIF. If the Electric Connection had bothered to consider that I would not hire them if I wasn't having problems, they would have checked it out more thoroughly. I do not recommend them at all unless you are having the most obvious problem that anyone could spot it. Apparently, these guys are not trained to deal with the less obvious issues. I do not recommend them at all.

From my initial call to the end of the job, everyone was friendly, intelligent, & willing to explain stuff. Prices were the best from any electrician I've used in past, and Robert & Julio were such fast and intelligent technicians that I ended up adding more work to the originally requested, minimal work! All done in one day!
Description of Work: IMPORTANT; ANGIE'S LIST SHOWS SIMILARLY NAMED COMPANIES. THIS ONE IS IN TUJUNGA AND HAS NO 'S' AFTER THE NAME 'ELECTRICAL'. Work done: Moved hall light switch further down hall wall (we're installing a pocket door and needed the wall free); replaced many light fixtures; removed one; installed two new outlets ("receptacles"); replaced recessed light ceiling trims; replaced front porch light switch with a timer. MY PRIOR ELECTRICIAN WAS GOING TO CHARGE ME MUCH MORE THAN THIS ONE. Ditto for others I called.

+ 1 moreI sent an email list to the company and got a quick, very detailed response from the manager, with an estimate they ended up sticking to. I also talked on the phone with Kim the owner, who answered more questions. They were able to schedule me soon, and called before to confirm. They sent a point person (Ramiro) and two other workers. The work took two days (they'd expected possibly one, but they uncovered additional safety issues), and they worked efficiently and cleaned up as they went. They were competent, responsive, respectful of my house, good communicators, and patient with questions. I'm a very new homeowner, so I don't have much to compare them to price-wise, but the internet research I did indicated that they're competitive. I would recommend them (and don't forget to print out their coupon on Angie's List).
Description of Work: Solved many existing electrical safety issues (overfusing at panel, insufficient wiring, replaced circuits, etc), installed 3 ceiling fans and 2 outdoor security lights, extended power line to outdoor light source and installed additional outlet with bubble cover, installed track lighting.

The work was completed in a professional manner, thorough and clean. Their pricing was not the lowest in the list, but I've had problems with lower priced electricians. Their professionalism won me over. No complaints. I'd use them again.

+ -1 moreThere arrived outside the specified time window BUT HAD THE COURTESY OF KEEPING US UPDATED as to when they would be with us. It was a rotten job as the lights were custom made and quite fiddly to hang but the guys were pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, and worked well into the evening (past 7:30) to get the job done without any additional cost to us. They stuck to their original estimate to the $. They used drop cloths and covers and the rooms were left tidy and orderly, I would have no hesitation in hiring them again.
Description of Work: Installed two new ceiling lights where there previously were none. Ran all the wires, in the loft, installed switches, dimmers for these lights + other dimmers, switches to other lights in the house as requested.

+ -1 moreThe office staff, especially David, were very helpful in determining what I needed to do to get the results I wanted. David was also very up front about what range of money I could expect to spend. When the electricians showed up to give me an estimate they were very thorough and had suggestions on how to best do the work. They gave me a detailed estimate, which was very close to what David had indicated, and scheduled a time to do the work. They called the day before the job was to start and confirmed the time. The two electricians were the same who had done the estimate and they were excellent. They were organized, professional, polite and knew what question to ask and when to ask them. They performed the work quickly (less than two days), did not leave me without critical power at any time and were hard workers.
Description of Work: I live a house built in the 1930's which was more than due for an electrical service upgrade. The work included installing a new electrical service panel and support column, separating and running several new circuits in my kitchen and on the patio area. I also had a 230v service installed the garage to service my table saw and other tools.

+ -1 moreWhen I called to make the appointment, I asked for an estimate. They connected me to their ''in house'' guy, who asked me to explain the problem. After I explained it, he diagnosed the problem as being in the fixture's WIRING. He said he could rewire it for over $200, or they could just install a new one for $64. (Since this was a $40 fixture, plan B seemed in order.) I was VERY happy to have this phone consultation in advance, because it enabled me to go out and buy a replacement fixture, so it was ready for installation the next day. Had I not spoken with him in advance, I would not have known. The only downside: although I told them I'd found them on Angie's List when I made the appointment, I forgot to print out the coupon and was charged the full price. Be sure to print out that coupon!
Description of Work: They removed a broken light fixture from my kitchen ceiling and replaced it with a new one (which I had purchased).

They come on time, put down drop cloths, stayed in great communication with me about every aspect of the job, and cleaned up after completing the work. They were super nice guys, and did quality workmanship at a fair price. Plus, they have a lifetime guarantee on all their work. I will definitely hire them again if I need any more electric work.

+ 0 moreAlex came out with one helper. They arrived at exactly the time they told me they would, I had received a confirmation call the evening before. The two men were informative- when they hit a stud and a light had to be moved 2 inches they checked with me to make sure that was okay. They covered everything in the room with plastic and tarps and left everything immaculately clean. I would definitely call them again.
Description of Work: Installed two overhead lights (where there were none previously)- one four-way switch, one three-way dimmer, and one regular switch- and patched all holes.

+ -1 moreThe Electric Connection did an excellent job at my house. The job, because of the length of the run was almost like a commercial grade installation. The initial estimate was shockingly expensive but realistic and competitive. Running 400ft. of 2 20 amp lines is just plain expensive. In order to make this affordable the electric connection was willing to split up the job. They were extraordinarily flexible by letting me buy the bulk of the materials direct from wholesalers (even gave names of places to call) and let me do the portion of the job I was qualified to do (dig trenches!). It ultimately dropped the price of their involvement by almost $5000!!!! And made this whole project do-able. The gentlemen that came to do the work were professional, courteous and cleaned up at the end of each day. I will certainly be calling them for future electrical work and would recommend them without hesitation!
