 + 0 moreThe work required two electricians. They arrived a bit late but called to let me know. They had to drill quite a few holes in my walls to run the wires. The moved and covered all of the furniture. Did a great job and were extremely clean. They worked fast and I was completely happy with the work they did. They even patched the holes the made in the walls. This is probably the 10th time I used The Electric Connection and I have always been happy with their work. It is why I use them again and again.
Description of Work: Wanted two runs of track lighting installed with switches. It is an older home (1926) so the guys had to run new wire. I also wanted a new outlet and a few ditches replaced.

 + -1 moreManny (and his assistant Jimmy) did a fantastic job. I was very impressed with the quality of work. They arrived on time both days, went over everything with me. Manny explained what they would be doing, and then did everything in a timely manner. On the first day, they installed the new box on the outside of the house, and did all of the grounding and wiring necessary. On the second day, they wired everything in the house. They cleaned up afterward so well that you couldn't even tell they had been there. They were very efficient, polite, and pleasant to deal with, and answered all of my questions and gave me recommendations for the future (for things I asked about). I recommend them very highly, and will be hiring them again in the future.
Description of Work: They installed a new electrical box to upgrade from 60 to 100 AMPS (it's an old house) , and rewired the house and garage outlets with ground wires (house wires were previously not grounded). They also added two new dedicated circuits - one in the living room and one in the kitchen.

 + -1 moreFirst off, I'm not particularly familiar with electrical work and what reasonable costs are. Unfortunately, my realtor was unavailable for this electrical inspection. But the guys came out and spent some time looking at the place. They ran a few numbers by me that seemed very high, but I deferred to them and asked them to put everything down in writing. I had to rewire the entire home, move and upgrade a panel and do some other work outside moving/eliminating some overhead wires. My realtor's jaw dropped when I passed their estimate along. He immediately balked and had us schedule someone else to come out. The next electrical company came up with half of their estimate (in the $8K range rather than $15K) to do the same work. My guess is that they were testing the waters with me initially, and realized when I didn't nix an outrageous number that they could ask for whatever amount they wanted to do the work. Thankfully I had a realtor who knew their estimate was astronomical.
Description of Work: I requested someone to come out and do an electrical inspection of my potential new home, after the physical inspector recommended it. The home was built in the 1920s so I knew there would be a significant amount of work. They sent two guys who inspected the property and put together an estimate of the work they believed needed to be done and how much it would cost.

Description of Work: Update: I received a letter from this company explaining that they took down the call-back number incorrectly, including a copy of the call back request showing me that they took the number down wrong. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and changing the rating to a C. Original: Contacted the company by phone. The girl said that Luis, the person I needed to speak with was busy and that he would return my call. That evening at 5 I still hadn't received a return call. I called them again and left a message explaining that no one had contacted me concerning my query, looking to install a stand-by generator. Never heard anything back. Seems strange since they have such good ratings!

 + -1 morethe installation was easy to schedule; they were able to come the following day. the electricians arrived on time. luis was extraordinarily personable, knowledgeable and professional. despite the absence of an instruction manual, he was able to put it together beautifully, and he and jose took time to untangle each strand, using gloves so that they would not dim the shine of the crystals. the work was completed within the estimated 2 hours, and they even accepted a coupon from angie's list that reduced the price by $25. the chandelier looks stunning. excellent, professional work. i'd use them again.
Description of Work: I needed to change out track lights for a chandelier from my parents' home. the chandelier is extremely elaborate, with handmade crystal pendants that dangle from the candelabras. each one needs to be attached separately, by hand. because the chandelier is an heirloom piece, no manual was available. i also needed a dimmer switch installed.

Description of Work: I I did not use the Electric Company.I called them 3 times. First time was terrific. Louis who helped me explained what needed to be done. He sounded sincere, knowledgeable and honest. I had to cut the conversation for I was running late to meet with my grand daughter. I told louise i would call back shortly. when i did he wasn't there. i left a detailed messages that i wanted to proceed with the job and he should call me in the morning. he did not call, i called and left another message that i wanted to proceed. he was on the phone. I called the next day and he was not there. i had it. this was a thousand dollar job and i was turned off. i told this to the person on the phone and explained he/they blew it. i got their number from your company. He never called me back. I had wasted so much time. I tried another company again through your company. I phoned ADI. Oh my! I fell in love with Ron, and Avi. Their professionalism couldn't be beat. These guys treated me with such respect and sincerity. I felt like a member of their family by the way they acted towards me. They cleaned up beautifully after themselves. worked in a timely fashion and were very neat. The job was over in one day. I now have 6 new recessed lights installed in my my kitchen at a fabulous price. These guys were so fast and so good at what they did. I thought I would be left with a zillion holes in my ceiling. On the contrary. No holes showed. They patched what ever holes were not used and put the ceiling in good shape., I am fussy and they really went over the top with my expectations. I highly recommend using ADI for it is a family run business that has your best interest at heart.I give them an A+

 + -1 moreIn the beginning, I had no problem dealing with them on the phone and with the supervisor. Even after the main breakers job, there was still no problem. The issue came on the day that they supposed to put the placard and help me fix the ufer ground issue. I greeted the technician politely when they came to my house but one of the technicians was not very happy that morning and was quite rude to me. The way he responded to me was in a very unfriendly and offensive way. He denied everything I said. Very irresponsible and told me that he was doing me a favor on this job. I was very very mad by his attitude. I told him not to touch my house and don't perform anything. He charge me $64 for the service call even he did not do the job. I complained to the supervisor and he compensated this by waiving that service fee and offered to assist me again. I rejected the offer. Although this was only the case of one technician having attitude problem, I was still very mad and disappointed with this company as I had been waiting for a week to wait for this guy to come to solve issue but he totally ruined my day! No, I would not recommend them to anyone as i don't want my friend to have this unpleasant experience.
Description of Work: Obtained load schedule for two houses, changed main breakers and applied placard (stickers) on main panels.

 + 0 moreOn New Year's Day, there was an electrical burning smell in my home office. The breaker switch was not responding and the face plate on a wall socket was burnt. I went to Angie's List and called Electric Connection because they had such high marks. They were closed for the holiday but I spoke to them the next day and they sent someone out within a couple hours. They called a half hour in advance to let me know they were on the way. Alex and his assistant were professional and knew exactly what had happened. The contractor who built my office did not install the light plug safely and the wires were touching and creating heat until it started to burn and melt the light box. Fortunately, the heat sent a signal to the breaker switch and it shut off. The box was replaced and a new face plate was large enough so I didn't need to patch up the opening. While the assistant worked on the plug, Alex fixed a light in the chandelier that had been broken for years. Other electricians had tried to fix it, but failed. He meticulously cleaned the socket and got it to work. He was also nice enough to replace a broken light socket in a table lamp. They were in and out in less than an hour and honored the $25 discount on Angie's List. We were very pleased with the work and would recommend them and hire them again.

 + -1 moreWe were called in advance to confirm the time. The workers showed up exactly on time. The price was exactly as quoted. This is definitely a trust-worthy firm.
Description of Work: Had a new outlet installed in kitchen. This required breaking tile on the backsplash and routing wires through the attic crawl space as we live on second floor of a building that dates from 1933. We now have a dedicated circuit breaker for the new outlet. This was a lengthy job that involved several components, any of which could have created a minor disaster. But everything went perfectly. The tile was broken in an extremely neat way and no patching is needed around the outlet to cover anything. Holes that were made inside cabinets were patched and we were able to replace all food and dishes immediately. Luis and his co-worker were efficient and polite, explained all the possible risks, but took great care to do the job neatly. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves as well. We think the price was on the low side given the complications of the job and the amount of time it took to complete.

 + 0 moreHugo came to our house to give us a quote on the job and made some helpful suggestions that we followed. We had intended to have an exhaust fan installed high up on the wall in order to prevent the accumulation of moist, warm air in the top of the ceiling which was causing some mold problems. Hugo suggested that a ceiling fan would solve the problem and it would be quiet and more attractive than the utilitarian fan we had in mind. We are glad he made the suggestion because the fan looks great and it completely recirculates the air in the room and the ceiling fan is silent. When we were ready to proceed Bob was able to schedule a crew for the next day and they completed the job in less than four hours which is impressive when you realize that the beam is 12 feet up and they had to chisel out a recess on the underside of the beam in order to install the electric box for the fan. Ramiro and Julio did an outstanding job with the installation. They covered all the furniture, bookcases and floor with protective plastic before beginning anything. They were on time for the installation and were very pleasant and easy to work with. They worked quickly and neatly. We look forward to working with them again.
Description of Work: We asked them to install a new ceiling fan on the central beam in our cathedral ceiling and also to add an outlet in our master bedroom closet.

Description of Work: I had used another provider from Angie's list to GFI some old electrical outlets in our old home. The original provider was stumped on one of the outlets, couldnt figure out how to fix and left it open, wires hanging out, and not operable. I called The Electric Connection. Customer service was so professional and straight forward. I felt better already. He explained their cost guidelines, and sent out an electrician within 3 hours. The representative even arrived earlier than anticipated. Electrician was fabulous: knowledgeable, efficient, courteous (no bad mouthing the previous shoddy job)....just went about solving the problem and fixing. I would recommend to anyone, anytime. It pays to hire a PROFESSIONAL!

Bob handled the back office paperworks while Alex (onsite electrician/supervisor) took care of all onsite preparations and executions. They are the A-team in my book. They walked me thru the process and made an extra effort to address my concerns with professionalism. They understand that not everyone knows the electrical jargon stuff and that they are prepared to take time to explain it in layman's terms. This is the first electrical project of many that I'm planning on and looking forward to working them again soon.

I contacted the Electric Connection and they were out within 2 hours. I called them in since I needed a second opinion. The first electrician wanted to do a quick fix and run wires to circumvent what he thought was the problem. Luis from Electric Connection throughly figured out the problem and then recommended a solution that solved the problem and just wasn't a quick fix. He did it for less than the other company was going to charge also! His level of professionalism was excellent and I would definitely use his company again.

 + 3 moreKim was amazing in the initial phone call. He was easy to talk to, friendly, and informative. He put my anxiety to rest. I met with Hugo for the quote and had previously received two others. Hugo was so thorough and included me in the walk through. He opened up outlets, showed me some cloth wire that we didn't know existed! Super fair. We scheduled with Bob, who was always able to be reached and super friendly. We were not moved in yet so they did the work on their own. We checked in every night and they worked clean and did a great job. They ran across a couple of issues that Ramiro called me on. We worked it out and also hired them to run electricity to my driveway gate for a motor. They even came back after a week of being done to finish digging the trench. Really great work overall!
Description of Work: We just purchased a new home and had to upgrade the electric to todays standards. We had an old fuse box inside, a switch box outside and only 50 amps. We wanted to consolidate and increase to 200 amps. We also wanted motion lights, added receptacles and a ceiling fan installed.
