The Electric Connection

I bought a home that is in need of serious work. I scheduled 8 different contractors to come and give estimates on the same day. Unfortunately, it was the day that AT&T's cell service had major problems. Every contractor, all from Angle's list, showed up on time, except The Electric Connection. To their defense, they called to see if I was home. With AT&T being down at the time, I didn't get their message until two days later. The big bummer was that there was no attempt to follow up and re-schedule. Luckily, a week later, the one electrician that did show up to give me an estimate, is nearly finished with the new panel, whole house rewire, and sub-panel in the garage.

The crew was efficient and punctual, but I was surprised at the extra expense for the extras I required. The Angie's special was $1,685 and I spent an additional $1,619 to get everything that I required. They did a professional job and carried out the extra work required by the DWP to past the permit test. Everything is working fine. I wish that they could have also repaired the stucco removed with the old panel, and I am still trying to get my house painter to come back and touch up the area around the new panel. 5/23/13: After the vendor read my review several months ago, they came out and repaired the stucco which had been removed with the old panel and also painted the stucco the next day after letting the stucco dry. It looks like new and I am now very satisfied. The person responsible for the incomplete job is no longer with the company.

The person that provided the estimate, was knowledgeable of the required codes. The workers,Ernie and Juan, were on time every day and informed us when they would arrive the next day. They also cleaned up after every shift. I could tell they were well organized and had a system to get the job done on time. They also made sure we were asked about details throughout the project. No question was to trivial for them when asked. They were flexible with there schedule and accommodated ours. Bob in the office was available to also address any concerns. Their pricing was competitive.

Great experience and Luis answered all my questions and even inquiries for future jobs I may have.

I am looking to have a generator hooked up for emergencies (think Sandy, earthquakes, etc.) so I discussed what I thought I wanted with Kim and he dissuaded me from spending all that since it wasn't needed. That's a pro.

My experience with this company was excellent. I will be using them again in the near future. To start with the communication and follow up was excellent...I was called and kept in the loop about each detail before the initial on site ever happened. Lewis and Bob in the office were great. The electrician, Manny who came out to my home was dressed professionally and again communication was excellent. The estimate I received was much lower than other inflated prices I had gotten previously. On the scheduled day Manny and his assistant Jaimie were on time and working away and handled the entire replacement and upgrade of our electrical, we had a laundry list of things we needed them to alter and they handled each one correctly. This whole experience felt like I had gone back in time, a time where customer service ruled.

The technician came out and discussed with us the problems we were having. He then inspected the entire house with his partner. He then listened as we told him of our renovation ideas and needs. He gave us his opinions and advice as well as a written quote for the work we discussed. We ended up not needing the work we thought we would and made a couple of changes based on his recommendations to solve the smaller issues. Great expereince!

It went great. They were helpful and answered all my questions. They had to replace the wires in a kitchen outlet, even crawling underneath the house to do so. They found a few other outlets that didn't work and finally got the breakers working again. Both technicians were super nice and professional. As a woman, I felt comfortable having them in my home.

This is my provider of choice for my future jobs...I have a few. The work was started by unpackaking the fans and set up. He know exactly what he was doing. He even asked how I would like the blades installed to ensure I would be happy with the end result. So, professional and friendly. On completion, the blades were cleaned and the fans checked with instructions on how everything worked. Just the best service; superior and outstanding. Take my advice, if you want a job done well, with a friendly, professional and techincally savvy contracter, you know who to call.

Their entire team was professional and responsive, from Luis in the office, to Bob the dispatcher and finally Ramiro and his entire team of technicians. They were prompt and very knowledgeable, answering all of my new homeowner questions! We will definitely be using their services in the future with all of our planned electrical requests.

The company scheduled the service promptly, and explained the costs clearly. One of the smoke alarms was at the top of a flight of stairs, and I e-mailed a photo of the situation to be sure there would not be a problem. Bob and Luis were very responsive and assured me there would be no problems. The workers arrived on time, completed the work quickly, and even helped me out by removing a dirty handprint left high up on my wall from a workman who had been in my home the week before. Very satisfied.

The first job came about during first use of a washer and dryer that had just been installed by a contractor that we subsequently fired. Manny came and troubleshot the immediate electrical issues. He assessed and fixed our safety concerns. Then he was able to make our entire electrical situation safe until we could have a full team come out and do a more extensive job. The men in the second crew were Jerry, Juan, and Ernie. They were all extremely competent and professional, and worked well together, like a well-oiled machine. The job was big, and was expected to take a day and a half to two days. They finished in one day. Their work was meticulous, and they took our concerns about safety very seriously. This is important. We bought a house that was built in 1926, and the whole house and garage still had the original wiring. This was all supposed to have been changed out by our contractor, but the team found two outlets that were still connected to silk wiring dating back to the building of the house. By correctly identifying and fixing this situation, Ernie possibly saved us from a house fire. Ernie's attention to detail was very reassuring in general. He went over the wiring, outlets, and switches with a fine-tooth comb. The situation with the exterior conduit was particularly delicate, but he handled it in such a way that no damage was done, and repairs to the concrete will be minimal. He not only thought about what he was doing, but also about what would have to be done by someone else to repair the exterior concrete. Juan did some of the repair of the junction boxes and rewiring. We were amazed that he was able to take the mess left by the contractor and turn it into a streamlined, attractive, and above all safe, installation. He also installed a chandelier on our wooden patio so precisely and carefully that it doesn't even look like a light fixture. It literally looks like part of the patio structure itself. Trully wonderful. Jerry also worked on the junction boxes in the garage, and was just as careful as Juan. On the front porch we placed a light in a location that had never had one. He worked meticulously to place the light box so that no damage would be done to the concrete structure. As viewed through the arch facing the street, and also from the side entry to the porch, the placement of the light was so precise that it appears to have been done by an old-world craftsman. This same craftsmanship was used in our patio where he installed a side garage light, once again in a location that had never had a light. He literally chipped rice-sized pieces of concrete out, one at a time, so the hole for the light would be not even one millimeter bigger than it had to be. All three men did more than just the things described above. What we described are the highlights, the work that was most visible. They applied the same care and attention to detail to everything they did. There is more electrical work to be done on our house. This is our company, and we'd be delighted to have this crew back to do it all.

This was a great experience. I purchased this service through the Deals section on Angie's List, and I really liked getting a fixed price on a small job. Even better, the guys came out the very next day and finished the job in under an hour. The outlet works great and I'm very happy with the overall experience.

They were very affordable and did good work. I thought they extremely fair. They were on time and did the work promptly.

These guys were excellent. Not only did they come out the same day of the call but diagnosed a larger issue about the wiring situation of the condo. In less than an hour they fixed the problem and we were back in business. Luis and his partner were extremely pleasant, professional and prompt. My fridge is working again and the circuits are now wired in a more sensible manner. I'd definitely recommend them.

It went great! I searched Angies list and did the research on a few electric company's and settled on The Electric Company. There were a couple of disgruntled customers, but having worked at a service company I know things sometimes happen that make customers unhappy no matter what your do. I made the initial call for an estimate with Lewis on 7/12/2012 and he had his supervisor Hugo come out to give the estimate on 7/19/2012. Because so many of my wall plugs were out The Electric Connection moved up my start date to Saturday 7/21/2012. Manny arrived at 7:00 a.m and had the new panel in and running on a temporary connection by noon. The city inspector came out on 7/30/2012, and the DWP rep came out on 8/17/2012 to make the final connection. Because the new panel is much bigger than the old one some plaster had to be removed to get to the power underground power lines. The Electric Connection had the plastering done on 8/17/2012. Most of the down time was waiting for inspections. I wasn't inconvienced because I had power the whole time. I'm happy!

The technicians showed up on time and did an outstanding job.They spent most of the day replacing the panel and performing some other jobs.They finished as scheduled and cleaned up thoroughly.They were all polite, courteous and very professional.It is definitely the best experience we have had with an electrical company for a long time.THE ELECTRIC CONNECTION is the best company I have worked with for a long time. The came out when first called to look at project. I called them a couple of weeks later inquiring on the estimate. They said they would call me back with it, but didn't. Finally I got to speak with Bob after calling again and then I got the estimate and the schedule for the work to be performed.

The Electric Connection more than met our expectations in every way. They were flexible relative to changing appointment times, punctual, and professional both in terms of the work done and also in their communication. Luis was an outstanding ambassador for the company. Bob, the Operations Manager was extremely valuable to us as a customer relative to sourcing the items we needed. The honesty of this company was extraordinary - they are loaded in my i-phone for future reference.

They were professional and efficient and the patch work seems to have been done well.

The electrician arrived on time, politely introduced himself, and quickly began troubleshooting the problem. He quickly found the root of the issue and explained in great detail the cause and his plan on resolving the problem. In a timely manner, he replaced the non-functioning receptacles and ran a few tests. I was extremely satisfied with the work performed and the promptness of the work performed.

Hugo, the company's estimator, came out to the house on time and was courteous and professional. He actually advised me not to install certain lights in a certain area because he knew they would not work properly. He did a thorough inspection of the installation sites and then wrote up an estimate. He then called the company dispatcher and found out there was an immediate opening and the next day a crew of three arrived on time and ready to work. The crew was headed by a gentleman named Alex. They were professional, neat, polite and did the job extremely well. I would use this company again and I have already recommended them to friends and neighbors.
