Stanley Pest Control (LA Office)

The service for the big deal from Stanley Pest Control was not so well. They came for the first time on November 26th. They had to come out 4 times within that entire month because the fleas were not going away and I had to actually lease my property because I could no longer stay there because I was getting bit. I was really unhappy with their service all in all because they didn't really manage to find out where the infestation came from and fix it. So I ended up having to get another company who did a different treatment and since then I haven't gotten any flea. The last time they came was on December 31st, they came out 4 times to my house between November 26th and December 31st. Besides the service I had purchased through Angie's List I had to purchase an additional service when they were there because the service for the offer that I got through Angie's List was only for the outside of the property and I had to pay an extra 189 dollars so that they would treat the inside and then they had this 30 day warrantee and so within those 30 days they had to come 4 times. They came 4 times in total. It ended up with me getting in touch with their manager because you can imagine that after four treatments you would think that the pests would be eradicated so they came back on the 31st with their manager who inspected the place and recommended I did a rat treatment because they felt that the source may be rats which they never mentioned at first. When they did said that they would recommend a second treatment for rats they wanted to charge extra since originally they weren't called for rat but for fleas. My feeling with all of that is it is for them to figure out that the fleas might be coming from rats, they know that there was a rat species in my basement and in my attic and those species were there from the very beginning and they never mentioned anything until I got a second company coming over and looking at it and this is the first thing they said. They said you have rats, not infestation but there is rat activity for sure and this is probably where the fleas are coming from. I ended up stopping using Stanley Pest Control and started using a different company and they did a treatment and since that treatment I haven't seen any fleas in my house. There were no other issues than they coming out 4 times, not really. I didn't think that the person who came in 4 times, his name was Pat was very attentive and he seemed, a couple of times, he wasn't paying attention to all the things and one times he lost a glove in my house and spent 15 minutes trying to find it and didn't and left, 2 days later I found the glove that he had left on the couch. I didn't feel like the service was really, really great. I got their manager, his name is Tim, and he came down on the 31st, also my landlord and just pretty much said, it seems, off just hand that there was rat activity and that would be the source of the flea infestation and then he said I will provide you with a quote for rat infestation because once again this is not rat we worked for in the beginning. Then my landlord and I just decided to stop the services with them and we informed them that we would no longer use them on January 3rd and that's it. The price was correct. It is like pretty much the same price and I had called around other companies and it was okay.

He came and he did the work. Everything work out just fine. I would recommend him to anyone.

Very effective, knocked out the ant problem that we had.

Juan Mora, the Field Representative, called ahead and arrived within the 3-hr window. I was afraid my son had brought bed bugs back from Nicaragua because he got bites in bed about 3 or 4 days after returning. I was completely freaked out. Juan was very, very thorough and really knew what he was looking for, and thank goodness told me there was no evidence of bed bugs. But he didn't stop there, he inspected the whole room and ruled out fleas (we have a dog) but found evidence of spiders - cobwebs up in the corners by the ceiling and behind a picture hanging on the wall (yes - he took down every picture and inspect the back with a flashlight). He told me to do a thorough cleaning and vacuuming, including underneath the bed because the cobwebs are pretty invisible unless you are specifically looking for them. The spiders likely came through the screen during the hot weather because we have bushes up against the house on that side. He spent a good 30 minutes in a 10x12 bedroom, turning everything over and upside down, etc. He said there was no charge for the inspection. He gave me his company card which also had his direct number, and said that I could call him directly if I had any other concerns. He said he services this area, so anyone in Santa Monica might also be able to get him to come. I highly recommend this office and especially this Field Representative. By the time he left, I had real peace of mind.

We had a fairly sudden and uncontrollable invasion of bedbugs, primarily in our living room couches. Our choices were to do extensive spraying of the couches, but then we would have had no security that the bugs might not be in other parts of the house, We have cats and they roam the house so they could easily carry eggs or bugs into other rooms. Our service man Thomas strongly advised us to tent the entire house to be sure that all bugs would be killed, and he thoroughly explained the entire process. He also said that there is more tenting done for bedbugs these days than for termites as it is a very widespread problem. We were given detailed instructions what needed to be double-bagged, how long we had to move out, when to get the gas company to turn off our gas - and the whole process went exactly as planned. They showed up on time, and did an excellent job preparing the property and also cleaning everything up after the tent came down. It was explained to us that while the company guarantees that all bugs are killed at the time of the tenting, that they cannot provide a guarantee that there might not be a future infestation - so you do not get a warranty like you might with termites.

They did a great job. Have had very few ants since the treatment. The representative was prompt, courteous and professional. Will use them again.

No bugs. The price is average.

It was good. I have a contract with them and they come every other month. They just show up. If I have a problem they will come back.

It was fine. They call before they come so we can bring our dogs in. They are fairly reliable.

It was really good. He is very prompt and calls ahead to schedule an appointment . He is very quick and efficient. He advised me on some other issues and was proactive.

It was fine. We are very happy. I like the results. The guys that come out are very professional. I don't even have to be here and they make sure to close the gate. They call 2 or 3 days before to schedule an appointment. If there is ever a problem they will let me know in advance.

After spraying the yard, the ants came into my bathroom with a vengeance. I called them and they came back (at no charge) and applied the application again. Also, I have a dog but forget to mention spraying for fleas. On the second visit, I mentioned the fleas and he said that if I didn't specifically ask it would not be done. He said that would be a different application (understood) and he went to his truck and applied a treatment for fleas. I have used this company before and they seemed to have been much better then. However, all in all, they were ok and I will probably continue with them.

I had fleas in the back yard. Carlos from Stanley Pest Control arrived on time. He identified the source of fleas right away. It was from the raccoons living under the deck. He provided several recommendations, including hiring animal remover to get them out of there. He then sprayed the pesticide in the area. He also sprayed pesticide inside my house since the fleas also got inside. However, he was not able to honor the original cost of $40 I was quoted on the phone when I made the appointment. Mr. Carlos was polite and explained the issue clearly. He also answered my questions and provided good recommendations.

They were gone within 20 minutes. It turned out well. I saw an immediate improvement! We have problems with fleas so they sprayed the backyard for fleas and they also told us that the fleas were nesting in a couch we had in the backyard. They were very informative. We ended removing that couch.

It generally turned out OK. It’s the 2 nd time they were treating for ants. Scheduling was good. The technician was very good and helpful. They did send a bill after the fact and the service had already paid for.

The wasp or yellow jacket infestation had disappeared just prior to the worker's arrival. Will call upon Stanley Pest Control again when pests return. Was no charge - great!

They did excellent. Showed up same day, very professional and responsive. Explained the work in detail. Albert, technician, was very accommodating.

The service turned out well. They did exactly what the deal stated. They sprayed around the outside of the home. The technician was easy to work with and did a nice job. Scheduling was very easy.

It didn't really help. We had ants in the house. They sprayed the outside twice. I continued to see them. They came back the 2nd time without charging us. Albert, the technician, was helpful. It was not an effective way to treat the ants. It took several days to get back to us to schedule an appointment and to come out.

That was fine. I spent about $89 for their service. The job was fine.

Where he sprayed there are no ants. The technician didn't seem to have enough knowledge. He was only here a few minutes for the price I paid. He came our quickly and on time.
