The seller completely understood the importance of the repairs and could see that the sale would not go through without them. We had $12,000.00 credited back at closing to make the repairs. Sinai Constructions very professional evaluation make this process easier.

As far as the work went there were no issues. The works were on time, professional, addressed any questions I had. There were a few hiccups with paper work but nothing that was not responded to and addressed.

This was the second house that we had Sinai work on, of our 2-homes-on-one-lot property. About a year had passed since the initial estimate because we needed to save up money for the work. When we were ready, we contacted Gary and he was, as always, very responsive and patient. He sent one of his workers to come and inspect the foundation again to see if the scope of work had changed. It had not, thankfully. Gary answered all of our questions regarding what sections needed to be replaced and assured me that the new foundation would have adequate venting. Another one of our concerns was making sure the water heater, which was located next to a section that needed work, remained on throughout the job. Gary promised that his crew could move the water heater out of the way temporarily but still keep it on for our tenants. The crew started soon after and they were very professional. The site was left neat at the end of each day. I stopped by almost every morning to check in and the foreman, Juvencio, answered all my on-site questions. He explained the work that they were doing and kept me up to date on the progress. He also warned me about a few small plumbing leaks that needed to be addressed. The entire job was completed in about one week plus a few additional days to re-do the stucco above the new foundation and receive the final inspection. The job passed city inspection with no issues. For homeowners, your house held up on stilts with a big trench under it is a sight to be seen. I appreciate all the hard work that went into fixing our foundation and it has been a real learning experience. Sinai Construction may not be the cheapest, but they do quality work. Gary, the owner, is honest and makes sure the work is done right and to your satisfaction. He was also nice enough to help us out with partial financing, which we appreciated. Now that the work is done, I can sleep better at night knowing that my investment is on SOLID FOOTING!

They quoted me $10000. I only wanted foundation bolting done on my house, which is a 1920 craftsmen bungalow and their only solution was recommending completely redoing the foundation. After getting estimates from other companies and talking to a few more people about it, I decided that wasn’t the only option and to get it bolted was a much better scenario and way more affordable. They definitely seemed professional and knew what they were talking about but they were up selling me more than what I needed done.

Sinai Construction was responsive. The owner came out to view the site. He prepared the proposal in a timely manner. It was competitive. They quoted me for approximately $61000.

I wasn't confident in the person that Sinai Construction sent to my house. I didn't get a good impression from him. The price was excellent, it was right in line with everyone else. The overall complaint is that they just didn't seem to have an idea of how to fix my problem.

Gary's estimator was prompt and professional. The detailed diagram of what he felt needed to be addressed was very beneficial to understanding what they wanted to do. Because it's important to us to understand why the estimator felt this way I initiated several calls to Sinai. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the owner of the company was the one who supplied answers to all my questions. When Gary didn't have an answer at hand, he researched it and got back to me in a timely manner. Because deciding on a contractor for such a large and expensive undertaking involves many factors, we have yet to decide between the 3 companies from who've we've taken bids. Since, communication and responsiveness is a key factor I felt for all Gary's efforts and time this review was necessary no matter the eventual outcome of our final decision.

Gary came out and inspected the property. He gave us two estimates. One estimate was to raise the house to it's former position and the other was to keep it from sinking further. We opted for the second estimate. The men he sent out to do the work were very professional. They barely took a break all day long. The work took a few days to complete.

Most contractors over quote you and then under deliver, but not Sinai Construction. The guys are real craftsmen and pay attention to details. We had some estimates for earthquake retrofitting and also fixing some foundation issues and sagging floors. Their price wasn?t the lowest, but it was fair. What I was really pleased with was the quality of their work. They worked on everything like it was their own house. The retrofitting started on time and the crew works very well together. They were quite fast putting in the mudsill UFP10 plates on the first floor. 2.5 days and our old house was securely bolted to the raised foundation. While they were under the house, we had them brace up the floors and we also moved a drain pipe drilling through the foundation concrete wall. They also did some cement work to patch up the foundation ? great custom work - very smooth, very clean. Chris kept us informed and he also coordinated some follow-up with the guys coming over to fix up every last detail. The stucco was repaired to match our existing design. We had some custom modifications done to secure the access - very high quality work. Everything we swept up and washed down each day. So, we really didn?t have to do much clean up after them. These are the most professional guys we have ever had work on our house. And we have had quite a few contractors over working on our old house. If you need foundation work or earthquake retrofitting - these are the guys you want to call.

Overall I was very pleased with the company.

The service of Sinai Construction was actually a pleasure. The crew arrived on time and performed their job of retrofitting my homes foundation quickly and seamlessly. Wish all my contracting jobs went so smooth. Recommend them without hesitation.

due mainly to unexpected depth of caissons , it became more expensive than expected.. they and their sub contractors and crews were always very professional. the job was primarily to reinforce the downhill portion of the foundation .

I dealt with Chris, and he was responsive, and he set up an appointment to check everything out right away. Once he got there he gave me clear explanation and some options to fix the drainage issues. We set up the apportionment and work began. Everything went well, and Chris kept me in the loop as things moved forward. They discovered a few things once they started digging, but they were great at explaining it all. A few weeks after the work was done, i had a few questions and concerns. I called Chris and he came back to my house the next day, and gave me a full explanation and answered all my questions! Great job, ill use them again

The work took about 3 days. The workmen had to go under the house and work in the crawl space. I felt bad that they had to wear protective gear especially with the extreme heat. The workers were courteous and worked continuously throughout the day.

My basement flooded when sprinklers were left on in front of the house too long. First I had to have a company come in and dry out the basement with fans and a dehumidifier. Once that was completed I obtained the name from Angie's list and called the company to waterproof the basement. They were very prompt in sending someone out to determine what needed to be done and give me a proposal. Once accepted we set a date for them to begin the work and they were on time to do the work and complete it. There was some additional work that I had asked them to bid on. It took them a while longer to come back with that bid and to bill me for the original work done. The second job was more that I wanted to spend so I paid them for the first job.

Gary Sinai is the best contractor we have ever had. He is thoughtful, fair, reliable, and properly priced. Best of all, he has an 'eye'. He gets it. He understands what needs to be done in the context and provides creative, well executed solutions. He has excellent, compulsive staff who clean up after themselves every day and treat the job and the client with respect. I just don't have enough good to say about him. I understand he is limiting his work to foundation work now. All of the above applies.

The job was done quickly, and efficiently with minimal delays and excellent responsiveness. He communicated well with my other contractors and me and put my satisfaction above all. I have used Sinai Construction since this job was completed and will do so again when necessary.

Gary give me 4 scope of foundation works to choose from. I choose 2 projects that he said is immediattely needed. The project is done in 2 days. The workers came on time, organize and will answer whatever questions arises on the projects. The payment is not made until Gary explained all that was done in the foundation and showed pictures of the foundation before and after the work. Im fully satisfied with the job and will contact Gary again for future projects.

This was easily one of the best experiences with a contractor I've ever had. While I was soliciting estimates, one highly-rated contractor who couldn't take the job wrote me a long email recommending a couple of folks whose work he said was excellent and who offered estimates for free. Among these was Sinai Construction. When they came out to inspect the property, they spent nearly an hour under and around the house, and when the estimate was ready a few days later, Gary, the owner, didn't just email it to me. Instead, he came back out to the house and talked me through everything, showing me pictures of the issues under the house that needed to be addressed. I was comforted not just by the time he took but by the fact that his recommendations, and price, were right in line with what the other contractors were telling me. I ultimately chose Sinai because their price was fair, their manner was professional, and they seemed willing to take the time to make everything clear to me. They were also honest. Gary was very clear about what needed to be done immediately and what could wait. Gary's crew was fantastic. Every day they showed up right at 7:00 and worked hard the whole day through. They were friendly, competent, and impressively professional. There were no strange comings and goings, no unexplained breaks. When I had a question, no matter how ignorant, they answered it clearly and politely. At one point during the job, I needed to get something out of the garage while they were eating lunch. I hated having to ask, since a lot of their gear needed to be moved, but they didn't bat an eye. They moved everything immediately. There was one small problem that came up during the job, but in the end it just proved how impressive the company is. While trying to back into the narrow driveway, one of the workers damaged the front gate, shearing a piece of wood off one of the vertical planks. When Gary called me at the end of the first day to ask how everything went, I mentioned the damage. The crew tried to fix it, but it didn't look perfect. When Gary showed up the next day, he took one look at the gate and said, "Oh yeah, we definitely need to fix it. That's not good enough." The crew finished the job on a Friday--the clean-up, by the way, was immaculate--and the next Monday they showed up to fix the gate. I thought they were just going to slap up a new plank, but they went above and beyond. To my surprise, they unloaded a table saw from their truck and actually milled the redwood to match the rest of the gate exactly. And then they re-stained the entire gate! I was shocked. Believe it or not, I had to call Gary nearly a week after the job was finished to see if he wanted to get paid. I told him that he was the only contractor in the world who disappears after the job is done and before he is paid a dime. He laughed and explained that he was busy with some other jobs and with training a new office manager. He trusted that I would pay. The final invoice was exactly what I expected, and Gary assured me he would come back during the rainy season to make sure everything performs as it should. I have no reason to doubt him. A wonderful experience.

I have posted 2 or more reviews on this job. This was the most professional company I have ever worked with. From the very 1st phone call during the job, after the job, helping me with the finishing the extra needed repairs. The President, Gary, Vice President, Chris, Supervisors, foremen,labors,office personal were always well informed, helpful, courteous and kind. I am so happy I now have a professional company to compare any other to. They took the CON out of Contractor. Also I must say they left my garage cleaner then before they came...I will call them for anything I need help with because they only work with the best companys. All City inspectors told me what a great company I had chosen. I am very blessed to have found Sinai.

Daniel arrived on time and, after getting some initial information from me, went into my crawlspace to examine my foundation and take pictures. While he was in there, Gary (owner) came by to check on him and talk with me about the retrofitting process and his company's approach. Once Daniel was done, he came out with a floor-plan sketch of my crawlspace with detailed marks and notes on what he found. Before leaving, they discussed with me what they found and asked if I had any questions. The very next day, they emailed me a very detailed quote (descriptions of what they found, proposed work, and optional work). I called Gary to ask if I could see the pictures that Daniel took of my crawlspace, and he emailed them to me promptly. I am unable to hire them at this time, but I was pleased with their professionalism and in-depth examination/analysis of my foundation.

We were in the middle of a landscaping project that included replacing our brick entry stairway. The landscaping crew discovered that the cross boards below the front door of the entryway were crumbling from dry rot. As this was beyond the scope of their project and expertise, they suggested we look for a foundation company to complete the work. We turned to Angie's List and identified Sinai Construction. Fortunately, they were working in our area that day (a Friday), so they came out, examined the problem area, and also noticed the two large cracks in our foundation. They gave us a reasonable estimate and they were available to complete the work the following Monday morning. They were very professional and they completed the work as detailed in their estimate.

Sinai Construction was EXTREMELY helpful and incredibly honest. I recently moved into a home that is on extremely expansive soil, and I had a few different contractors come out and evaluate my property. I heard the same thing from most of the contractors, but Sinai went out of their way to offer me tips and advice to improve the environment that my home is in, the structural integrity of my home, and how to determine if underpinning is the right solution for my home. The estimate to complete the underpinning job is around $40K, and that's the same across all bids that I received. Since I just moved in, I don't have the cash on hand to do that kind of work. Sinai gave some advice on things I can do myself to determine if it is even WORTH doing that kind of work. Chris was very patient with me, and we talked about not only what I could do, but what he, as a structural engineer, would do (and it was not to run out and drop $40K on underpinning). I can't say enough about how helpful Sinai was, and I will definitely call them in the future. Thanks guys!

An inspector came and inspected the foundation of the property on Thursday, ans said an estimate will be e-mailed by next Monday. Didn't hear from the company until the Tuesday, when an office manager called me to make an appointment to meet with the owner of the company to explain the estimate. I asked to see the estimate first, which was supposed to be e-mail the previous day. They promptly e-mailed the estimate, which, for the particular repairs for which I asked for an estimate was higher than a very well rated competitor, and also included estimates on a myriad of other repairs, that Sinai thought I should do. Overall the inspector was courteous and professional, and provided a very well prepared estimate. However, I didn't like the turnover time it took to send me the estimate, and the way the company included a ton of other stuff in the estimate, that the owner wanted to explain to me. Their price was reasonable, but higher than the competition, so I went with the competition, and had a very positive experience.
