I was really impressed with these guys. I called in the morning, expecting to have to arrange something for the following week, but was told someone could be there in an hour. He was, he got right to work, and finished promptly. It was so easy, I couldn't believe it. And the price seemed fair to me.

I called him on a Thursday and left a message. He called me back multiple times that day to try and get in touch with me and we touched base on Friday (the delay was my fault, not his.) He was very flexible and came out on Saturday morning at 8:30am so that we could have the house secure before we moved in (we were having scheduling issues because of a hardwood floor refinish, and Nick helped us work around them.) I was very impressed by how quickly he worked.

Nick showed up on time, was friendly and knowledgeable, offered me options that would lessen my cost. He explained a defect in the way my door closes and offered to fix it for an additional fee(which I declined). While his fee seemed reasonable for this repair which has bothered me for some time, I decided to wait until I do other expected repairs in the house. He replaced the defective deadbolt I had called about and re-keyed the lock so I could use my old key. He gave me several color options on the new lock and did a thorough and excellent job overall.

Fabulous. They were the only ones who responded to my message within 10 minutes of leaving it. Others called me back, but much later. Secure Lock not only called me back FAST and over a weekend, they had someone come to my building within an hour or so. It's a great, reliable company with a real person who owns the company overseeing it all.

Secure LA's response was swift (next day after call) and work was excellent. Cost was less than I'd anticipated. Noise from slamming gate and pool safety were issues, so we particularly appreciated the quick response. Contractor advised that repair of the unit would probably not be practical since we had significant fluid leakage. Replacement turned out to be the best-value approach. As homeowner's association Chairman and Angie's List subscriber, I selected two nearby, top rated vendors who listed "door closers" within their areas of expertise. I gave the names and details to our volunteer HOA Maintenance Director, and he selected Secure LA Lock & Safe. Rated "B" for professionalism because locksmith did not want to deal with a HOA and thus required extra effort from our Maintenance Director. In setting up appointment, Director (a small business owner himself) told locksmith he would pay by personal check and hand deliver it. He ended up driving to Secure LA's business address to deliver check, but the address turned out to be a mail drop. Director had to call Secure LA owner who came right over to meet him, so Director didn't have to wait long. So, quality of work and price were great, but notch lower on "professionalism" scale because Director had to go through all that (and then request reimbursement for HOA). Our HOA uses and administration company and has a great good record of paying our vendors, but I imagine Secure LA has had problems with other HOA's.

Called for estimate, said they would have to come out and see what was needed. Showed up less than an hour later, looked at the door and recommended what locks would be appropriate and gave a ruff estimate. Installer had parts in truck and got right to work. Experienced some trouble drilling hole in door jam for new dead bold, concrete wall. Installer ran up to truck got a bigger drill and a concrete bit and finished the job. Tested the door to make sure all was working. Bill came in a few bucks extra for extra labor in getting through concrete, but was happy to pay since the job was well done and fast! Now I feel secure!!

Nick, the owner, called me back within minutes of my message. (He called me back faster than all the others did). He completely understood why I was so panicked (lost box of tenant keys!) but couldn't do the job himself. So he sent another guy, Mike, out to my property. Mike was great, too.

Nick had a locksmith at my condo the next day (which was my earliest convenient time). His employee was punctual and professional, and within twenty minutes I had the storage lockers opened up and two new keys. I have used Secure LA Lock & Safe multiple times since moving into my condo last year. The professionalism has been impeccable and Nick has been very accommodating to my busy schedule. I recommend this company highly.

They came very late. She couldn't fix it, but it wasn't her fault. She didn't charge me for what she had tried. She wasn't very friendly with us, she told my tenants to stay back in a forceful tone of voice.

Great - this is the second time I've hired them and again I was very pleased with the service. Nick, the owner, came to the property on time, with all the materials needed and did an excellent job with a professional and personable manner. He even performed a few additional tasks that were needed on some other locks and completed those to a high standard. He's very knowledgeable and reliable.

It turned out that Nick often sends a sub-contractor to perform services. We got Mike (I can't remember the other company Mike works for as well). Mike phoned ahead to confirm the appointment shortly before the scheduled two-hour appointment window, but we didn't have cell service so we returned the call late. This resulted in a delayed start time of about an hour, which was not a problem for us. Mike was very professional & mellow. He alerted us that one of our locks was broken and needed replacement. This caused a situation because it needed to be keyed the same as another lock, & the brands of the locks made that impossible. So, rather than buying one new Schlage lock, I was in for two (or a ring full of keys). He also advised how to secure an interior door with at least three alternatives, each one he was willing to facilitate. This door was not a high priority, so we decided to deal with it later. Mike spent at least four hours, maybe five, attending to the locks & sticky gates. He was very courteous & alerted us when questions came up. He also make sure to inform us of price and to get our approval and double check our approval on particular locks, finishes, and keying before proceeding with work. When he was finished, I did not check to make sure all of the keys and latches worked. After he left, I discovered one gate was stuck shut, and there was another lock that needed adjustment. The gate lock likely jammed when Mike fixed the gate (which had settled over the years) such that the bolt was true to the strikeplate. I called Nick, and he contacted Mike right away. Mike was unable to come that evening, but returned the next day, about an hour after the scheduled time. This was not a problem for us. He adjusted both situations I had questions about. I was very appreciative that Mike stayed so long to fix our locks, even though I had grossly underestimated the job. I assume the reason he was a little late on Sunday was that he was giving an earlier customer equally attentive service. He also called in advance to confirm that appointment, too, but I was hardly able to talk to him due to my cell service. If your time is at a premium, I would suggest scheduling the first appointment of the day. I asked Mike about the Angie's List discount, but he didn't know anything about it. Since this would have saved me $28, I will be asking Nick about it. I could not talk to him the same day due to cell phone reception problems with my phone. Tips about locksmithing work, a double-key lock will be charged as two locks if you are re-keying both sides. To verify a locksmith's business, look up his or her license number online with the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS). Scam locksmiths often will give a fake license number. Check to make sure all of the keys work the way you want them to before the locksmith leaves. This seems obvious, but I forgot, and that caused both me and Mike unnecessary extra time.

I was impressed with the speed with which I received a call back, and was surprised to see them immediately drive across town and do an estimate on site without delay. The work performed took about a half hour, and then the additional welding that was suggested by the Secure LA representative was done on a Saturday morning without anyone from my company required to come in on the weekend. When we returned to work on Monday the work was completed as it was described and our facility was more secure and the work was performed in a clean and professionally manner.

Nick was awesome - came quickly, explained what I needed and didn't upsell. Additionally, he called to say he was running late and he follow up afterwards. Good guy.

I called him on a Sunday afternoon, a 3-day holiday weekend, reached him personally, not an answering machine, and he came right out. He changed 15 locks at my house (each double-sided dead bolt counted as two locks as each side had to be changed separately) changed the locks on the deadbolt on my driveway gate, provided and installed a locking doorknob on the door to the basement, and fixed a lock that no longer worked. He gave me 12 new keys. He was efficient, personable, told me what it would cost before he came, and even told me when I first called him how much cheaper it would be if I waited until Tuesday, i.e. after the holiday weekend, to have him come do the job. I highly recommend him and he will be the first person I call if I need a locksmith again.

Nick of Secure LA Lock and Safe answered the phone in person when I called, so that I did not have to leave a message and wait for a callback. I called at 2pm and he said he could come to my house between 4 and 5pm and he did. I needed one lock rekeyed and he quoted me $60 on the phone and that is what I was charged. He gave me three new keys. Nick was friendly, efficient and professional. This was the first time I used Secure LA and I will call them again when I need a locksmith.
