Description of Work: Secure LA did a great job at being responsive to my initial call. I called in the morning and they arrived to rekey my house that evening. I felt that their punctuality was great and they were helpful in answering the questions I had. My biggest frustration is that they advertise a discount to Angieslist members and that they accepted credit cards. I mentioned both of these when they performed the work and they said they would send me a bill and would incorporate the discount as well as the credit card. They did neither and this was extremely frustrating as I would not have used a company that did not accept credit cards. They kept giving me the run around that their credit card systems we're down and that I could only pay by cash. Angies list should update this section accordingly.

Description of Work: My doorknob is in the center of a 50 year-old door. The shaft of the deadbolt is about 1 1/2 feet long. The shaft became dislodged and the door would not open. Nick responded to my call immediately and came within 2 hours. It was a very tricky job and he figured out a way to fix it. It has been working fine since.

+ -1 moreThey were extremely professional. The locksmith made time in the day to come by on MY schedule, fixed the lock quickly and perfectly. He suggested we recess the door hinge so the door would fit better and then did the work on the spot at a very low charge. Doing that made it immediately easier to open and close the door, something I always struggled with! He was also very friendly and nice to my dog.
Description of Work: They changed out our deadbolt and re-hung the front door.

+ -1 moreI made an appointment to see him the next day at 10:00 A.M. The next day,unfortunately, I waited until about 12:00 to call him only to learn that he had forgotten that he had jury duty that day. I was (I think) understandably upset, but then called the next company on the list -- which was given high marks by a listing company -- and located in the Valley. A telephone answering machine assured me that they would get back to me in 20 minutes. I called again after an hour had passed. Again I got the same message. I called every hour for three hours after that with no response. I then quit UNTIL I got a phone call from Nick Mitchell apologizing profusely for not getting in touch. It was close to 5 in the afternoon, but he volunteered to come out anyway and do the repair. Using, what I consider real ingenuity, he fixed the lock and it has never worked so well. A big A for Nick -- F for the listing on recommending that outfit.
Description of Work: Repaired front door lock and advised us on future lock replacements.

+ -1 moreVery professional and friendly. When security locks were not immediately available in a finish matching my other knobs, he re-keyed the existing deadbolts for free so I would not have to worry about who else my have keys to my new condo while I was waiting for the new locks to arrive.
Description of Work: Replaced 3 deadbolts with security locks; replaced about six interior doorknobs that were loose, stripped, or otherwise damaged; installed deadbolt on home office door.

They gave me a rough estimate and said that it wouldn't be too much more, and were able to meet me at the time, which worked best for me. They called me when they were on their way and were even 5 minutes early. They looked over the job, stated the price and started on the work. They were done in less then an hour, serviced the locks and made sure everything was working to my satisfaction. I tried the locks, paid them and they left.
Description of Work: Secure LA Lock & Safe came out to my place and rekeyed and installed new locks on my doors. They also did strike adjustments on the doors and made all of my doors latch correctly. I no longer have to fight with my doors. Secure LA was on time informative and very professional. In a city where it is very hard to find reliable workers and feel comfortable recommending them to your friends. Secure LA, I would be more then happy to recommend.
