Description of Work: It was advertised as a "system" which left me with the impression that it was a computer program that I would download and install on my computer. I thought it was a program that one could input various factors and the program would guide and organize me in dealing with contractors and overseeing a remodeling project. However, the deal only provided a website where one can download various Word and Excel documents that are basically just forms that one can fill in, etc. The site also had a few videos with simple guidance on various aspect. All-in-all, it was not what I expected and being disappointed, I set the matter aside. Then realizing my 30 days were about up, I requested from Angie's List a refund according to a satisfaction guarantee. However, they thought I wanted to cancel my Angie's List subscription and did that instead of the item purchased. Another problem in the begining was that I paid but never got the email to access the site. After calling their phone number, the guy who created the site called me back and appologized for the mishap and quickly made sure I got the access email. He is a nice enough man, and seemed like a fair and honest person. The site does offer forms and some video guidance that, for someone who has never dealt with construction and/or remodeling would find helpful. However, for me, having done such work in the past, I found the overall "system" to not be worth the price, even though the original price was posted as $197 and I paid $99. Perhaps $49 would have made me less upset about the value of the purchase.

They usually send me a notice seeing if I will allow the refund when it extends past the noted 30 day mark. The reason we do this is that it allows our users to access the information 24/7/365. While having a class might be helpful, it is a one time thing. Having the information you would get from a class at your fingertips anytime you want it, and forever as you get lifetime access, has been significantly more valuable for our users.
