We did not use him because despite us coming back and clarifying what we wanted, he recycled most of the same old proposal that was not responsive in the first place. So we cancelled ... outside the 30-day window. And then the fun began. The people at Angie's List apparently have no clue what the contractors Angie's List send have to provide. And then they argue with the client ... who is a lawyer and knows how the law actually protects homeowners. I will never buy one of the Big Deals again because all it amounted to was a waste of time and a big hassle with Angie's list. BTW Angie's list has sent another contractor for a totally unrelated project last year. That guy never even bothered to give a bid because he realized that he could not B/S the owner (me).

They did a great job on mapping out my front yard for a desert landscape just that the price was to high for me to do the job at this time, overall good to work with.

Yosi was easy to work with knowledgably with not only plants but also the current regulations re: DWP issue-. accommodating. Prompt and professional. His crew was also very punctual, knowledgeable, hardworking, consistently left the area cleaned up at the end of each day.

They have 3 guys. They were honest, said that it was going to take 4 days and it took 5. They went went above and beyond what was expected. They cleaned up their mess and were very clean throughout the process. There was no extra charge for the added day of work. The end result looks like you would find in a magazine.

Workers were polite and professional, and did a great job. Owner traveled back and forth several times to make sure everything was proceeding satisfactorily. Asked me for specifications so as to make sure that the work met with my approval.

I purchased a coupon through Angie's List. Owner was quick to set up an appointment to go over the project.. He followed with contract and plant lisr, we agreed to the terms (coupon plus some additional costs). Owner thought he could do demolition and installation in about three weeks. After three weeks II contacted him and he said it would be another two weeks. Called me about two weeks later to schedule. Said the crew would arrive around 8am and it would be a one-day job. Everyone arrived on time, immediately got to work and except for appropriate breaks, work hard until the job was finished. I am so pleased with my new front yard. The plants look very healthy, the river rocks are a lovely dark gray and look terrific against the mulch. I would recommend him enthusiastically and would use his services again.

The guy showed up onetime which was a good first impression. He had brief exchange and then he began to walk the yard. I did not see any measurement devices of any kind. In face, it appears that he was counting the yards based upon his shoe size. If this works than so be it. When he was done I explained some of the things that I'd liked and showed him some pictures that Ive been saving. He told me about the California drought issue and explain why i could not have a wall in the front yard and gave other logical suggestions. I felt good about our conversation and we parted. He told me he would draw up the specs and have them sent to me within the week. Two weeks later I called him. Where are my specs. He said he forgot and then said he would ship them out as soon as possible. I was little upset by this but waited for the package. Let me just say the package was so unprofessional that I could not have believed it. It was a mix of pictures from google laid on-top of a very grainy picture of my backyard that he took from his phone. In addition he provided an astronomical itemized list of services that were marked up way above something I could get from a nursery or HomeDepot. I'm so glad this experienced only cost me 50.00. The materials were low end, the prices were inflated and I never received any 3d rendering or blueprint. I personally would not ever, ever use this company or recommend him to anyone.

Josi and his Rain Forest crew showed up on time on the first day to start work. The first step was to remove all the trees, ivy, fences, bushes, concrete, steps, an old incinerator, (for those that don?t know what this is?it was a brick oven that was used back in the 1940s to burn trash) and anything else that didn?t belong. The same crew, who were extremely courteous and very conscientious arrived everyday at the same time and worked all day until quitting time. I can't say enough good things about this crew. Hard working, polite, and friendly these are the men were extremely dedicated and skilled in what they do. Our project required the dismantling of an Ivy covered divider between our property and a neighbor which the crew handled in a way that did not disturb our neighbor. We experienced no problems with this crew who did all the removal, installed fences, plants, retaining walls, lights, and a new irrigation system. Josi was the true visionary of our landscape project. There were no plans other than our initial discussions of what we were trying to achieve. Josi and his crew delivered on every item that we had agreed upon as well as implementing any changes to the original plan that we discussed. There was flexibility to change the plan when necessary but the project was never slowed or stopped by a change order.

The workers were great. They were on time getting to my house, and finished in one day. The yard looked great when they were finished.

Yosi is very professional and knowledgeable in his field. I'm sure the quote he provided was appropriate to our size yard; however, we we just not able to do the work at this time.

His schedule was very limited. We made an appointment for about 10 days out for a Wednesday, but he showed up on Tuesday. I was not home, but he took pictures and we spoke about what changes I wanted to make with the yard. A few days later he sent some computer generated drawings. The landscape plan that was sent had zero creativity. The $49 paid for the plan was a waste of money.

This spring (his busiest time all year) I contacted Yosi about getting a landscape design for our front yard to remove all grass and replace with California friendly, drought resistant plants. He was able to meet with me and discuss options within one week from my call. He was patient and able to answer all of my questions about how and when, and all options available. In less than five days he emailed a detailed drawing of our property with the design we discussed that included pictures of plants to be used, decomposed granite walkways and a breakdown of all charges, plant types, numbers and sizes. It included a breakdown of day by day completion dates. He had taken all of our ideas (and there were many!) and was able to put them on paper so we could see the whole plan. It was everything we talked about! However, once we saw what we had asked for we realized it wasn't what we really wanted. We explained this to Yosi and he then changed the design to be much more functional and uncluttered (he did not charge for the re-design). He just smiled knowingly and we agreed on the money and our project start time. On the appointed day his crew arrived and went to work removing all the grass and preparing the yard for the decomposed granite pathways. Once the ground was ready, he took us to the wholesale nursery to pick out our plants. This place is HUGE! He spent four hours with us picking types, colors, and sizes of every plant. He made sure we got the correct plants for the different areas of sun and shade, always able to explain the type of plant, how big it will be at maturity, blooming seasons, and of course colors of blooms/flowers. From start to finish Yosi was professional (as was his crew), on time and acceptable to our needs, questions and changes. Our next door neighbors liked what Rain Forest LA did to our yard so much, they also hired Yosi to do their yard as well. I highly recommend Rain Forest LA to all Angie's List users.

I met with the owner (who arrived late.) My project could be done with 3 x 8 hour days, as advertised. Instead he sends 3 people to work the same 8 hour period simultaneously, so he can up sell the hours necessary to complete the task. Misleading. I'm cancelling the order.

Fabulous!!! Wish there where more contractors like Yosef!!! He and his crew were wonderful to work with. Very happy with the job they did.

We used Rain Forest LA. They removed all the shrubs,herbs and bad trees. We were happy with them. I've use them a couple of times.They were pretty good. They were promptly and professional. I highly recommend for landscaping and landscaping.

"Plan" looked as if images of five or six different plants were just copied and pasted around with no thought to size, flow or color. THAT I can do for free.

It worked out beautifully. We applied for the city rebate to have our lawn replaced - it was easy and we did it at the same time as our next door neighbors. Together we interviewed landscapers. We had seen another front lawn replacement done by RainforestLA on the next street over and liked the way it looked and Yozi was the most experienced and professional choice. After they removed the turf, he took us to a nursery and helped us pick out plants. They installed an automatic drip system and mulch in addition to a decomposed granite pathway and sitting area. It looks great and people are stopping by to ask who did it. This was much easier and more pleasant that we expected and I'm delighted we went with Yozi and RainforestLA.

The work was beautifully done, everyone who comes to the house admires it. Very good choice in the types of plants and the landscaping looks well-balanced.

The estimates were very high. The provided seems more interested in getting in and out of our property than asking about what we wanted for our yard.

The landscape job was incomplete, I.e., not one plant was named in the design. If I signed up for further services THEN I would get the names, which seemed like he was holding me hostage. I was very prepared with examples of yards I did and did not like so we would be on the same page. We were not on the same page at all. He put in flowery plants and a mixture of "thirsty" plants and some plants that could be drought tolerant (but I couldn't be sure since he wouldn't tell me). He didn't hear me with plant placement . He also cut and pasted a design without regard to my house color-a gray/black house with...brown and rust...really? I would never recommend this person to anyone I knew. He was professional in that he arrived on time (a little early actually) and responded to my emails. He also sent the "design" in a timely fashion. Still, he didn't seem to be interested in providing what I asked for. I was disappointed in the service. Since this was my first experience with Angie's list, I am a little leery and my husband is definitely off using it again.

Basically, he took a photo of my back yard, then found some random images in Google images and pasted them on top of the photo not to scale and way too busy. As an art piece its interesting but from a design perspective the design he sent me was not useful at all.

Perhaps it was my fault in not communicating exactly, and not being present while the job was being done. I said that I wanted to use all of my pavers, and I had more than enough pavers for the project, and when the contractor said there would be space between them, I assumed perhaps a half inch. When I arrived home and saw the finished project, where the path was mostly filler (sand/mortar?) with HUGE spaces in between the pavers -- four to six inches in places -- I was surprised, to say the least. The effect was definitely not that of a path made of pavers. I now still have enough pavers left over to make another path!

He was punctual, had few ideas and the ones he had for my front yard were dumb. A splash of color is a good idea a leaf dropping tree or a dirty mulberry is dumb! I was to get a plan and got a cut and paste of color no plant names. Clean up bid was fine but sprinklers and lighting were high since he had no idea what I already had? I am ready, willing and able to get my yard work done but a $5000 bid felt more like a hustle and the $49.95 I paid was for him to drive here which was dumb. I doubt I will avail myself of any specials in the future, probably will shy away from your list ..........

It turned out not excellent. I feel like his design was pretty basic, so I guess he is not a landscape architect. He was coping and pasting pictures of some plants on a photo of our yard. That was not a landscape architect design, no measurements and no actual drawings. We thought we would get a design. We bought landscape architectural design and that was not provided, we got a photo of our backyard.

They provided me with a beautiful presentation. He did very well and sent me the pictures and the cost of the new landscaping plan.
