I deal with Mario Sanchez and Lynn Sherry; they are the proprietors. I have used them in a variety of capacities and try to use them as the house contractor for the building I have. I have found them to be conscientious and fair. They generally are experienced in the challenges of some of the German fixtures that we have here. The after-market replacement parts for some of our fixtures are hard to find so I use this company to work with some of those challenges. In this part of the city Plotke is one of recognized and most experienced installers of tankless water heaters. I have one and we had a particularly troublesome and complicated installation and I constantly come back and fine tune it as we have developed our mutual knowledge of how to make these things work. They are not cheap but their pricing is fair. They are very good about punctuality.

Was done properly and excellently, the first 3! plumbers that came out obviously were not familiar with the system, Lynn was, and was correct in his diagnosis, stuck exactly to the estimate even though there were additional items uncovered and repaired in process. Ceaser did the actual work, and was courteous, professional, and did a great job.

It was trouble free in every way. Quick and clean.

I have been searching for a great plumbing company with reasonable prices and after 15 years of being ripped off and overcharged, I finally found Plotke! I cold-called them through Angie's list after I heard some familiar warning gurgling in a downstairs toilet, signaling that our yearly root overgrowth was blocking our drains. To make a long story short - they needed to rooter out a few different areas in the house and down a long driveway (extra footage) they even came back a second time with two guys (at no extra charge!), were prompt, polite, neat, experienced and professional and I was extremely pleased and would highly recommend them. The last time we had to have this done, we were charged over $500 - Plotke did it more efficiently and at a much better price! They also gave me $10% off for being a member of Angie's List! Phew, my search is over! Since this has happened to us before, I knew how to describe the problem (ie bring the extra long rooter) - I think this is very helpful in letting them know who to send and also in making sure they have the necessary equipment. Past plumbers have said that due to the long driveway, they need to get a longer rooter, charge much more, etc - Plotke had the equipement and it was no big deal. I also want to add that the final price I was charge was spot-on the estimate (minus the 10% AL discount!)

They're a very good, reliable company and always very personable.

The job went great, he showed up on time, did the job and left, absolutely no complaints.

Plotke was very professional, cleaned up after themselves each day, and did a good job with each of the installations. Furthermore, their piping and drainage designs function better than the house's original plumbing. It was a pleasure to work with them. As an aside, I wouldn't recommend tankless water heaters. Keep in mind this opinion has nothing to do with Plotke's work, however.

I had another plumber install a line for an ice maker about a year ago. Told him it needed an T-Valve, not a saddle valve, as noted in the refrigerator manual (and later to find out L.A. Building Code requirements).Well, he didn't and the ice maker broke. Sears said before they would fix it, the line needed to be fixed, and there was no talking to the original plumber.That's where Plotke came in. The plumber (Danial) arrived on-time and was polite and professional.He told me that the work done was also not in code (see above) and got right to work. Now I have a working ice maker. No more buying ice from the market.

Arrived slightly ahead of the scheduled time, got right to work, unplugged the sink. We had a slight problem with with pipes, the tech jumped in and solved it.

I have used this company for several years now, and always been satisfied with their work and their professionalism. They recently replaced a broken water heater, which they did promptly and efficiently. They have done everything from unclogging drains to replacing broken sewage pipes. Always prompt, courteous, and good communicators. Will definitely use them again.

They were friendly and informative. I am satisfied with the services.

2 plumbers from Plotke arrived on time and were very professional and friendly. They were happy to show me what they were doing, as well as showing me how they were taking a DVD recording of the video camera inside my pipes. Communication with the main office was easy, and an estimate for further repairs was delivered quickly. They also were able to arrive quickly the day of the emergency, and that was appreciated. All signs point to this being a good company. Again, I don't know what the cost was, as it was sent to my insurance.

The batrhoom turned out great thanks to Mario & Lyn! We had some issues with the contractor and Mario, Lyn and their plumbers figured it all out and made us very happy with the end result. I would highly recommend these guys - they were professionable, very knowledgable and honest. They would also call back in a timely manner and would even make a trip out whenever I had an issue or question.

We had another company come by to look at it, and they gave us a price of $1800, lying to us about how there was no other way to fix it. I even explained that my wife had been laid off recently. No dice. They just wanted to take our money. We looked for another company and found Plotke. They were great. They showed up quickly and fixed the problem for 200 bucks.

One of my toilets started bubbling up one Saturday morning in December, a few days before I was scheduled to leave town for the holidays. The toilet flushed okay, and none of the drains backed up , but I was nervous about a blockage in the main line potentially causing problems while I was out of town. I called Plotke and left a message on their voicemail. They returned my call within an hour or two, and advised me that I could probably put off a service call since nothing was actually backing up. There were no problems over the weekend, and I was trying to sort out what to do when Plotke called me on Monday morning to see how things were going. I realize there was a marketing angle to the call, but I still appreciated it. I agreed to "preventative" rooter service and they sent someone that afternoon. Turned out there was something partially blocking the very end of my mainline. Service was good, price was reasonable, the only downside was that the plumber who came out was running over an hour behind schedule, and I got no warning about that. Messed up my schedule a bit. Otherwise, good experience.

What a great example of the dedication of professional plumbers. On a Friday night (of course!) our Takagi tankless water heater stopped working in our 4-unit apartment building. We called our regular plumber - American Drain Works - who were unavailable. Not surprising, as they're good and popular plumbers. Even though they couldn't help us in person, Connie in Customer Service got on the phone and found us Lynn from Plotke Plumbing, as Plotke is an authorized Takagi Service Rep. Even though Lynn wasn't available to come by in person, he helped us troubleshoot by phone. Meanwhile, Connie found us another Takagi rep who could come to our property. The story ends well as we got our water heater fixed and kept our tenants happy. I'm writing this report because I was so impressed with Lynn, who not only helped with several phone calls, he gave me his cell phone number in case any problems arose. He could have legitimately charged for his time and help, and I offered to pay, but he didn't. Great plumbers aren't always going to be available in emergencies, so I will definitely keep Plotke's number handy when American Drain Works can't help us. Based on the service I received that Friday night, I would highly recommend Plotke.

Both times he did a great job very efficiently. The installation looks great and works perfectly. He's just a great guy to have performing the work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Plotke to anyone.

i woke up one morning to hear water gurgling out of an overflow pipe on my property. hmm, that's not good! but yup, one of the showers was being used, and that water from the 3rd floor was spewing out of an access/overflow pipe on the 1st floor. (i am blanking as to what the actual name of the access pipe is.. they are on the outside of the house and you can pop the lids off and hopefully not get gushed in the face with water...!) i called the plumber i have used before via angie's list, michelangelo's. since i was told the time was up to 90 minutes, i checked around to see if there was someone closer to my area. i had actually used plotke before several years ago on a takagi hot water heater (tankless). i have actually called them in the past too, but i used them this time most recently b/c they had someone available the fastest. they sent 2 guys, one older (50'ish), one younger (35'ish). i *was* told on the phone the hourly rate. what i didn't realize when i later paid was, that was the rate per person. every other plumber i have worked with has only sent 1 person out, and that 1 person was able to work on some pretty big jobs efficiently and by himself. i did think okay they have 2 people... so should go twice as quickly. anyway, after a lot of checking around they decide they are going to clear the lines via this one particular access point. (the one that was spewing water!). they did have to check the ones below it, b/c it's not unreasonable to think that maybe *those* are the ones that are clogged. anyway they try it first with a thin snake. that doesn't seem to do it. they say we need to use the bigger snake, and the bigger snake cost bigger bucks. i'm a little curious at this point as to why i should be being charged an equipment fee. i mean doesn't the plumber now know he is going to use a snake when you tell them the line is clogged?..... i think the additional fee was $35. oh, there was also a hillside fee, since we are a hillside property and there were steps to climb. (note to plumbers: hire burly people who can carry equipment...) anyway after an hour or so of snaking, the clog appears to have been cleared. water seems to be flowing (and has flown since then) perfectly fine, thank heavens. the plumbers were nice. they were relatively quick. it was only when the bill came that i choked -- that was when i was told the hourly charge was per person. the reason i am still giving them a good rating is because the bottom line is, the work was good. i was NOT happy with the price, but i did not feel they did a crappy job. it is sometimes very true you get what you pay for, so believe me i am totally averse to getting a bargain basement price and having a bargain basement job done. i WOULD call them again if need be (probably not my first call, but my second). but i would make absolutely sure what the rate is, how many people are coming, am i going to be chared for a plunger (or whatever!) etc. they do know what they are doing. they will solve the problem. you will simply pay a lot for it. if they lowered the prices, i would simply LOVE them and they would be my first- and go-to plumber since they are in the area.

Mario arrived exactly at the appointed time and reviewed the process with me. His staff followed shortly afterwards. He reviewed everything with them. They began the process of removing the old water heater and replaced it with a Bradford high efficiency water heater and then, began the process of re-venting. After mutually agreeing on where the new venting should go, they proceeded efficiently. Excellent job, courteous and professional, as well. I highly recommend this company.

Excellent plumbers. Have used the company many times going back a number of years. Very busy company, so you may not get same day service for a routine call. (emergency would be different). Cost is up there with most top tier plumbing companies.

We've been using them for years and years. They just recently moved in the last year or so. They are very dependable and always do a good job. One of the reasons we use them was because we had a clog several years ago and the first company that came in immediately tried to make it a huge expense. We told them that we would think about it and we got Plotke in here. They did the same inspection and said it wasn't about pipe replacement; it was about keeping them clear. That was a huge selling point because they didn't try to rip us off. They show up on time and they call ahead to make sure it is okay to come and do the work. They are very quick and very clean. They come in and do the job and get going. We will continue to use them bi-annually. We have a contract with them.

Plotke was one of the first companies who were available to come out asap (others said i had to wait til next day due to the massive demand during the storm). Cesar put on his wellies & serviced the subpump. Great thing it was still working so just had to wait until the water drained out. He anticipated it will take about an hour+, and did not want to charge me for the wait time. So he returned the next morning to dry out the water heater control & made sure the pump was functioning. I've called them again few months later for other faucet changes etc & I've been happy with the service they provided.

They are a good company. They showed up on time and they were informative.
