Description of Work: I hired Elite Moving and Storage for full-packing and loading service from my old place, moving, and unloading service at a storage in a town I have just moved. My overall experience with them was not bad compared with all nightmare moving experiences I had in the past. | |First of all, the service representative I worked with, Mary, was excellent. It was very easy to communicate with her. She was professional, clear, and very responsive. I would love to give her A plus. | |About the price, I do not think Elite Moving and Storage is one of the cheapest. Yet as a person who believes "You got what you have paid," I cannot complain of their price. | |About the movers who did packing and loading at my old place, they showed up on time and did decent job in packing and loading. However, in spite of my contract of "flat rate not to exceed" based on visual estimate, the movers (who seem like subcontractors) constantly intimidated me saying there were more stuffs than the estimate. They charged me additional $750 when they finished packing and loading. So I paid about %40 of moving cost based on their bill or whatever. They were also rather slow. We were supposed to finish and leave at 5 pm. or earlier, but we could leave around 8 pm. Several days later, I got an email from Elite Moving and Storage with an invoice. I was shocked to see it showed more additional charge than $750. I called and talked Mary. She recognized their error and sent me a new invoice based on the original "Flat Rate Not to Exceed." No extra charge whatsoever! The subcontractor's claim of additional $750 or more was nothing but an outcome of miscommunication or his tactic of me throwing away as many goods as I can to avoid huge extra charge. | |The trouble with the subcontractor of Elite Moving and Storage happened again when the moving truck arrived and started unloading at the storage. The truck driver who is a subcontractor called me the night before his arrival and arrived on time at the storage. Yet he began complaining the location of my storage unit that is on the 2nd floor of a building. His truck could not access right in front of the elevator. So he demanded me additional charge of $225 in cash for elevator and long carry. My contract already included the charge on elevator. Also I was not sure how he communicated with Elite Moving and Storage. So, I tried to call Mary of Elite Moving and Storage before I gave him the additional charge he insisted. But he said he would stop working until he got $225 in cash and might charge more for delayed hours. Luckily I could reach Mary quickly and she explained him about Elevator charge. Long Carry charge was not included in the contract; therefore, I paid additional $150 in cash. I was rather upset not because of the additional $150 charge for Long carry but because of the truck driver (subcontractor)'s intimidating attitude though he apologized about his bad manner later. | |As Mary in Elite Moving and Storage once told me, I can see why moving is a tough business. I am glad she eventually took care of all the unpleasant matters with subcontractors. Yet is it impossible for her and her company to get rid of those troubles? |

Description of Work: Move a lot of stuff from storage facility into new house. Fast and professional
