A Better Way To Move

I had packed and moved a decent amount of my things from inside cabinets and closets already, but the garage was virtually unpacked/untouched and all the furniture and potted plants needed moving, along with some items stored in furniture, etc. The guys arrived on time and were very professional. They carefully wrapped all my larger furniture items, packed into boxes the stuff I authorized them to pack (they did not go through my things without asking first), and were done at location 1 in about 3.5 hours. At the opposite end (location 2), they managed to get everything moved off the truck and unpacked what they could in about 3 hours. They set up the furniture where I wanted it and even helped repair a piece that lost a leg (though no fault of theirs). They hustled all day long, stopping only once for a short 20 minute lunch break, and it was blazing hot outside. It was as pleasant a move as moving can be; I would definitely use them again.

Everyone that you come in contact with is extremely professional and nice. The men who did all the real work are amazing--truly. Nothing is damaged and they will go out of their way to help you with those last minute things you didn't get packed. BEST EVER

I found A Better Way to Move on Angies List and was very happy with the service. I got three estimates, they were by far the least expensive. I got an in-home estimate. The movers arrived on time, and were very helpful and professional. I didn't feel I was upsold on items I didn't need. At the end of the day I paid exactly what I was told I would be paying. I would recommend this company to my family and friends.

Overall, this move was an excellent experience. Someone from A Better Way to Move called me the day before the move to confirm the time and the number of men who would be on site the next day. On the day of the move, Fernando and Jose were on time and ready to work. They were efficient, professional, and extremely polite. My biggest concern was my 8-foot bulky couch, but they handled it easily without damaging the fabric (even while having to navigate it down 3 flights of stairs). I had a few wooden items not yet wrapped in moving blankets, and they helped me do that very quickly. They completed the work under the alloted time and were exactly on budget. It's too bad they only operate in Southern CA because I would hire them again for a move anywhere in the U.S.

From the initial estimate, to packing to loading and unloading, we had a great experience. Tim also have great tips on floor care at the new place. All members of the team were polite, helpful and knowledgable. Would definitely hire them again. .

A three-man crew - Axel, Rafael, and Simon - showed up on time. They were extremely organized and professional, and very quickly loaded the contents of my second-floor walkup apartment into their truck. They were equally professional and quick unloading at the Altadena house. My wife and I were both tremendously impressed. Our only regret is that this company is entirely local. Our next move will involve taking my wife's furniture from her house in Bakersfield and moving it to Altadena. If A Better Way to Move did out-of-town work, then we would certainly use them.

Paul, Simon, and Jose arrived exactly at 8 a.m. as scheduled. The move was finished by 2 pm. My husband and I actually enjoyed the whole process. The guys joked around with us and made the experience much less tense than we had anticipated. At the same time, they were very professional and took pride in doing everything right. The move went without a glitch. The price came to about what I had anticipated. I like that it was a clear, upfront charge per hour and the guys really hustled so I did not feel I was paying more than I should. Also, if you buy boxes from them, you can return them for 75% of the cost back, and they have cheap, used boxes at their warehouse if you want them. I would definitely use A Better Way to Move again.

The two gentlemen arrived on time, were courteous, fast, efficient and very careful with my belongings. I was very happy with their work. I will definitely call them the next time I move.

The gentlemen showed up early, assessed the situation, and began preparing and loading furniture. They were very professional, knew what they were doing, and worked rapidly both loading and unloading. There was no wasted time and they were very easy to work with. They even took some of our very heavy boxes when we realized there would be room on the truck. Their estimate for time and cost was on target, so there were no surprises at the end of the day, unlike other movers we've used in the past. I definitely recommend this company.

The move went very well. anything that costs extra (insurance, special mattress bags) they advise you of and ask if you want it or not. They send you a package before your move advising you of all the various options and what you should do to be ready to be moved. Unfortunately for me my mail was being held at my new place, so I didn't actually get it until after I moved, but it wasn't their fault. They were very careful, had a good attitude, and didn't make things take longer than was necessary. When folks are paid hourly, you want to get the sense they aren't making things take longer than necessary, and they weren't. They were grateful when I bought them lunch and were good guys. The move itself with drive time to new place took a little more than four hours. I would recommend the three man team unless you have a very small place, like a one bedroom. It makes things much easier. the three man team brought a small pickup truck as well as the moving truck which came in handy.

Wow. These guys were incredible. I estimated the move to be 6 hours and they finished in less than 5. They were quick, no nonsense, professional, and took great care with all of my items. So many of these moving companies have hidden surprise costs, A Better Way To Move does not. The total cost was clear from the get go. I would defiantly use them again and would highly recommend them. This was the least stressful move I have ever done. Please use A Better Way To Move.

I moved from an apartment to a mobile home. The two men showed up on time, looked at what had to be done, and got right to work. It was an exceptionally hot day but they never slowed down. My large china cabinet was was separated into two pieces, most carefully wrapped to protect the glass, and reassembled in my new home. All my boxes were placed where I wanted them. I can't say enough good things about this company. They were most patient with my four changes of moving dates, were reasonably priced, and did a grreat job. I've already recommended them to two friends who may be moving in the near future as the service and price certainly met my expectations.

Overall a good experience. I called the service. I was given a estimate and day/time of service. The moving went smoothly from start to finish. the movers were fast and careful. The whole operation was excellent. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Excellent, timely service by two professional and friendly moving men who went out of their way to do what we needed them to do. They were able to accommodate my schedule and schedule a move within 5 days of when I first contacted them (although I would recommend more lead time if possible). Price was reasonable and results met and exceeded our expectations.

One of the better moves I've had in awhile. Two men showed up on time, did their thing, and went on their way. They were nice and professional. I was a bit hesitant to use them initially because they only quoted me over the phone and wouldn't provide me anything in writing. However, our move was fairly small in scale so I just bit the bullet and gave it a try. Their prices are on par with other movers in town. Instead of charging double driving time, they charge an extra hour on the back end. If you pay in cash, they give you a small break.

They showed up on time. Workers were very professional and friendly. Move went fairly quickly. Nothing was broken. Cost seemed reasonable (they bill by the hour), but I did not get any other estimates. Dealing with their office went smoothly as well. Overall a very good experience.

Paul, Brian and Simon arrived early then promptly introduced themselves and scouted out what needed to be done. They asked us questions about what items get moved and what doesn't as well what items did we particularly wanted handled with care. They then skillfully backed their truck up our narrow driveway and started loading things up. These guys work fast and hard! It was hard to get them to take a break. They got all of our stuff loaded in about 3 hours which I thought was incredible. They drove down to our new place and took a 15 minute break. They proceeded to unload asking us where some unlabeled things went. Once again they worked fast and hard. Our new place is 2 stories so it was a lot of work. Even got our very heavy professional treadmill up the stairs! All three of our movers were friendly, courteous, and very professional.

These guys were GREAT. I was so relieved. they didn't waste time and money packing things that didn't need to be protected (my last moving company carefully wrapped rubberbands and protected them with lots of paper in a box. they wrapped paper plates and my garbage too.), A Better Way took lots of items with every foot out the door, not taking just one item at a time (like the people I see moving someone else outside my window right now- coincidentally the same company that moverd me last time and that wrapped the rubberbands). They used boxes I already had with no complaint, used good sense packing, and in the end finished packing early, and also finished moving early. They were fantastic. they have integrity, honesty, kindness as well as good sense and smarts. I recommend them to everybody who wants a fast easy reliable move.

We opted for the 3 man crew to move us about 6 miles. They showed up on time, walked through the house, asked questions, and were very recetive to all my questions. We asked them to not only move our furniture, but also some large potted plants, which they did in a professional manner. All in all, a great experience.

Communications leading up o the move were very courteous and helpful. Movers were about 15 minutes late, but called to let me know. They were fast and friendly. I particularly liked that hey let me buy used boxes from them and then sell my boxes back to them for 75% of purchase price, plus a $40 drop off and $40 pick up fee.

When I originally scheduled for service, I let the manager know that I had never used a moving service before. He asked me how big my place was. I responded that I had a one bedroom...a bed, a couch, a chest, lots of books, etc. He asked me if a small truck was ok. I responded with whatever you think would be best. (again, I have never used a moving service and he should know best.) When the movers got here, they seemed surprised with how many boxes I had and that I had had a couch (as if there was no communication about the move). They seemed like good guys, they just couldn't work with the truck that was provided for this move. So, they called their boss, Tim, and tried to reschedule for the next day with a bigger truck. Besides the fact that I have to wait another day to move and pay extra rent, their boss, Tim, said that I needed to pay an hourly rate for them coming out today. The problem with this is that it was not my fault that a small truck came out to move me. I agree that the two guys should get compensated for their time (they were here 10 mins), but not by me. Are you kidding me?! What bad business! I called Tim back and he made a bunch of excuses as to why I should pay today. He said that I asked him to bring a small truck, when, in fact, I left it up to his descretion. He said that I had never told him that I had a lot of books, when that's what I stressed the most. Instead of making the situation right (taking away the charge for today's misunderstanding), he just made a ton of excusses and lied about what we had previously talked about in our moving arrangements. I am very unhappy with how unprofessional the manager of this company was and will be looking for a new moving company.
