A Better Way To Move

Working for 4:30 hours for 3 men @ $108 including their trip to our house total 4:30 minutes. We have to pay 2 hours for their round trip total 2 x $108. so we paid extra $ 216 for their trip. we gave them tips also, because they load in tide and good. We have to pay their Return Trip for $ 108 (Arcadia to Los Angeles) Loading my stuff to 24' trailer. 3 men loading my furniture and all packages to trailer 24'. guy was good and tried to load my packages in the trailer and tide. 1 thing they missed my wardrobe supposed to lied on the side. this wardrobe torn apart when arrive at destination. because the wardrobe cannot hold the weight of my other boxes they load inside the wardrobe. We read all the review and looks very good, this is my real experience. .

This was just a great experience all the way around. The packers came on Friday. They were very friendly and flexible and completely followed my somewhat complicated instructions on what should be packed and what they should leave for us. The move itself was on Saturday and again was just a pleasure. The movers were great about things like letting me pack my own clothing and bedding on the way out, and then, at the new house, moving furniture and boxes from their original location a few times (like when I mistook one bookcase for another, or decided that something really belonged in the garage). One of the movers even went above and beyond and took some time to fix the bolt on the French doors when it wouldn't close right after the bed was brought in, even though the actual problem was with the door and not the movers. I can't say how much I appreciated that. There was one small issue in that both bedrooms were labeled "master". As soon as we figured it out, though, the movers worked with us to get the right boxes in the right rooms, and then the company called me the next day to apologize and give me a credit for the extra time, without any complaint on my part! Great customer service there! Finally, the overall price, including packing materials, was excellent -- lower than my last move 18 months ago, and for a much better experience. I plan on using A Better Way to Move any time I need to move locally in LA (hopefully not too soon!) as well as recommending them to anyone else I know who is moving in LA.

They worked very hard and quickly, didn't even take any brakes. They were courteous and didn't give me any trouble, just co-operated. For instance, after they had closed the truck up and had started to leave the condominium, I ran to the truck and asked them to move another piece of furniture I had forgotten, on the patio. They did it without any complaint. If you want to look for something to complain about, I guess you could complain that the leader of the three men didn't seem to be able to add or multiply correctly. The bill he handed me was for $100 more than the time he said he was using to charge me. I realized when I looked at the bill that it didn't make any sense but I decided to let them have the $100 as a bonus, since they had worked so hard. Two days later, I get a call from someone at their office telling me that I had been overcharged. They sent me a check for the $100. NOW THAT'S INTEGRITY.

Two movers showed up to move the above items from my apt to my new townhouse. The distance was less than 1 mile and I was hoping they would be completed in 4 hrs as they charge by the hour. The two individuals who showed up were extremely polite, professional and careful with my items. They brought blankets, tape and a fabulous moving dolly. They were able to move my very heavy office hutch from my loft, down a circular staircase without breaking anything. They showed up 30 min early and refused to take a break until they were done. I offered them a water and diet coke which they politely refused until they were done with their job. They offered suggestions wrt to ensuring I wouldn't damage my floors and walls. Prior to my move, I was able to email and call management to ask any questions I had regarding price and arrival. They patiently reviewed pricing with me several times and while I initially thought they were sort of pricey, for being bonded, insured and pleasant individuals, they were worth the money. I would highly recommend this team of movers.

Very responsive throughout the process - from estimate to day of move. Despite the fact that they are paid by the hour, the movers were very motivated to get the job done quickly (it only took 5 hours; my job was originally estimated to take up to a max of 10 hours).

This is the second time we have used them. This time was to move out of a 1 bedroom apartment into a house. There was not much furniture but lots of boxes & odd shaped stuff. They arrived on time, friendly as ever, emptied the apartment in 40 minutes! I had a lot of stacks of plastic drawers with art & knit supplies in them, and they just wrapped them in those rolls of saran wrap type plastic and off they went. At the new location they carried a huge sofa up the stairs with no problems. Also a really big art table went up the stairs ( in it's 2 pieces) and to get around a tight corner into a room they had to take the room door off, which they did in about a minute and put it back on just as quickly. They carried SO many boxes of books upstairs. We love these guys. They are quick, friendly, uncomplaining, totally professional, and will do just about anything to help you get out of one place and into another! Top Notch!

I chose this mover from Angie's list. After comparing prices, they were the most reasonable and I wasn't going to be charged for 8 hours as this was only a half day move. Tim, the owner, answered my emails promptly and when I did call to make a reservation he was very polite and I felt confident that I had chosen the best mover. Paul and Simon called me when they were close to my son's apartment to let me know they were stuck in a bit of traffic. They were very nice and friendly. The move went well and I am extremely satisfied. I would highly recommend these movers.

I needed them to move 3 pieces of furniture from a apartment to a storage unit in the same complex. The move was on a bottom level. They were punctual and they did the job that I asked them to do. They had a price minimum of about $200 and they mentioned that to me before the move, so I was well aware of that.

When I first called, I was very happily surprised to hear a live human being answer the phone instead of a machine. The estimates I was given were thoughtful and realistic and included all the information I needed -- there were no surprises later. After calling a few other movers for estimates I chose A Better Way To Move, and the booking process was very smooth. Each time that I called the employees were polite, patient, and helpful. Soon after, an envelope arrived in the mail with information about the preparing for the move including what my insurance options were. The booklets were helpful and allowed me to feel secure in the knowledge that I'd prepared everything correctly. On the day of the move, Mauricio and Jaime showed up right on time. They followed me to the apartment and we quickly talked about what they would move. I signed the very brief pre-move paperwork, and they immediately began. They were absolutely great -- friendly, polite, cheerful, and extremely efficient. All of the furniture was carefully packed in moving blankets and out the door in very little time. They brought me wardrobe boxes for clothing and even offered to let me pack boxes with trash that they would dispose of for me at no additional charge. I was originally going to move all of the framed art on the walls myself, because I was nervous about it being damaged. They assured me that they could do it safely and quickly, and they sure did! Once the truck was packed I drove to the new apartment. They arrived only a few minutes after me and quickly began unloading. They positioned furniture exactly as I asked, including making adjustments to the original placement on request. Soon it was all finished, in much less time than I expected and at a cost much lower than I expected! And there was no damage to any of my property. I couldn't have been happier with the service, and I highly recommend this company to anyone.

They were okay. They worked on our budget. Other than that, they were good. They were on time and polite. Everything was good.

I've used these guys twice, most recently for our move from an apartment to our first condo. These guys are quick and hardworking but also nice guys who want to help make your move as painless as possible. They carefully wrap all of the furiture with moving pads and tape as they pack everything up and load it into their truck. Once at the new location they unload, unwrap and place all furniture and boxes wherever you wish. They're even happy to move stuff again if you are unhappy with their placement. All three guys were constantly working and were super friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesistate to use A Better Way to Move again.

The guys were fantastic amidst chaos when they arrived at my house. We were mostly prepared for the move since my house had been on the market for months, but as it goes with any move there are unexpected issues that come up. Getting everything out of the house was easy... for me, they busted their butts and put everything in the truck in the order that it would need to come out, despite my semi-coherent instructions. They laughed it off, and eased my stress. On the other end, we discovered that a large blue-stained wardrobe that I had thought I wanted upstairs in the new place wasn't going to be able to make it up the switch-back stairs. After a lot of discussion about options and speculation on angles and the physical laws of nature, one of the guys suggested a place that it would work in the living room downstairs. Since we had talked about the placement of all the other furniture, he saw my vision and suggested that we move the entertainment stand over, and place the wardrobe next to it. I'm writing this review right now in my living room in front of that wardrobe which has garnered many compliments, and instead of clothing, it houses blankets, books, paper, pens, paints, canvases, and other things to provide comfort and art in a place where I can share them. Unfortunately the owner of this townhouse has decided that he needs to sell, so I've come back to this site to hire the guys that helped me out just a year ago and hire them again. Maybe soon I'll be able to share another story about how they made an impression on how they helped make a move more than that - it helped make our home.

We were referred the company by a neighbor. We actually didnt call them until we had quotes from about 6 other companies. We had a new baby and needed help packing for a quick move. The other quotes were all at least $1000 more than A Better Way To Move. They did a great job as well.

They went above and beyoind what they quoted. They needed to move items from a storage unit and from a hours. When they arrived at the storage unit we found out we were broken into and the perpetrators tore open all of our boxes and even ripped some of the boxes. These guys help put everything back into the boxes and taped them up for us. They made a very stressfull situation less stressfull.

BUYER BEWARE This is the worst moving company imaginable. When speaking with them they gave me a "rough indication" of the time it would take them to move my things. The actual time and cost ended up being DOUBLE that indication. The crew just took their sweet time and somehow managed to turn a 2-bedroom move into an 8-hour ordeal. I told them I felt cheated, they called me and said they would try to sort things out and then never called me again. Now they have my stuff in storage and it turns out that they won't deliver it to my house when I need it, meaning that I am going to be stuck without the ability to move to my new house, on top of everything else. Stay away from this company. I have no idea how they got their positive reviews. This is a scam if I've ever seen one.

I was overall very pleased with this move and the hard-working, very professional crew and will gladly recommend them to anyone without reservation. Beginning with the scheduling phone call, we were treated in a personal and accommodating manner. We were the second job of the day, meaning that an exact start time could not be set as that depends on how long the first job takes. The 3-men crew arrived later in the afternoon (suggestion: an update from the office would have been great) and then worked tirelessly and with great care to get our apartment loaded. The men were particularly attentive to any special requests I had regarding the loading of delicate items. Bulky pieces of furniture had to be maneuvered down a tight staircase but the general attitude was there isn't anything that couldn't be done. The unpacking went fast despite the fact that the crew made the effort of putting every box and furniture piece exactly where we wanted it and thus put in a lot more leg work than strictly necessary. Thank you for a great job!

It was a very positive experience. They were really good. They were on time and it seemed like they took a lot of care with my stuff and once we got all our furniture to the new house everything was done pretty efficiently. They got everything done as a team. The price was a little over $1000 but it was well worth it.

It all went well from the scheduling of the move to the actual execution. The mover team arrived on time and did a great job. They made sure to wrap up my furniture before placing them in the truck. I've already recommended this company to several of my friends.

Two-mover job. Both nice and extremely professional. No items were broken. Move was conducted very quickly. Extremely pleased with service.

They guys were very professional... It turned out to be more expensive than we thought it would be but I didn't see them slacking at all. We had one mishap where a box of our wine fell and it was one of the more expensive two bottles that broke. These things happen in a move and while we were bummed it wasn't the end of the world. The foreman spoke to us right away about reimbursement and even reached out again via a mail form after the move so we could submit it which I thought was incredibly generous and professional.

I called to get the details of costs and availability and spoke with Vendel who was extremely courteous and clear about the pricing policy, (which is based on the number of men you request for the move and the time it takes from start to finish). I had used another moving company to move from Florida to Los Angeles and although not a nightmarish experience, I felt that they had not been cautious with my furniture nor the boxes labelled fragile/glass so I was looking for someone else to move me from the storage space I had rented when I first arrived, into my newly rented apartment. I had originally set up the moving date for Nov. 30th but when I met the van and movers at the facility, it was pouring rain. I didn't want my furniture and contents of boxes to get soaked and potentially ruined so on the spot I cancelled the move. My decision was completely supported by the company, the van left, and we rescheduled for the following week without any hassles or fees. I later spoke with Tim who did everything possible to move my things as quickly as possible so that I would not have to pay additional fees at the storage place I was using. When Paul, Jaime, and Lino arrived to move me I found them very respectful and just the right amount of friendliness to ease a mover's frazzled nerves. You can imagine the amount of boxes there was in a 12x25 space! They were careful, polite, and stayed upbeat and positive during the entire process. As if all this were not sufficient, the move cost me exactly what they had told me up front - less than half the "special returning customer" price I had received from the company that had originally moved me from Florida! I highly recommend this company and would use them again without hesitation!

I found A Better Way to Move on Angie's List and I was very pleased. This was my first time using a service provider from the list and I wasn't disappointed. My phone call inquiring about service was returned promptly and I was able to schedule an appointment on short notice. The two movers arrived early and, as a courtesy, called me from outside to let me know they were ready to start whenever I was. They came prepared and were very efficient, friendly, courteous and professional. I will defintely call them again for future moving services.
