I called Action Services because of the Angie's Deal I purchased back in May. I had originally scheduled for Nov. 1st, to have my reverse osmosis water filtration unit installed, but due to complications at the job prior to mine, they were unable to send their person out. They gave me as much warning as possible and rescheduled for a date that was after my deal expired - but said there was no problem in honoring it anyway. I really appreciated their calling me fairly early to let me know about the schedule problems and change - I was not stuck waiting around forever and was able to make better use of my time. They were very pleasant and professional in handling the situation. On the day of the service, I was called and reminded of my appointment and called again when someone was on their way. Action Services and John are the best plumbing service I have ever encountered. I was advised, prior to service, of all possible fees - so there were no surprises, which I truly appreciated. (If I could give extra points for the company's great communication skills, I would!) I will definitely call Action Services for any of my future plumbing needs.

They were very pleasant, however I am out of their area.

Reviewed all work and made recommendations. Installed gas log set in fireplace, Hooked up gas line.

He did a great job and was very easy to work with.

The plumber arrived on time and immediately set to work draining the water heater. He inspected all the pipes and valves. The valve that is supposed to relieve pressure was not operating properly, a dangerous situation. The plumber had the necessary parts on his truck and replaced the faulty valve. I was very happy with his work. If I had not purchased the Big Deal to flush the water heater, there could have been a disaster if the relief valve were to fail! I am glad the plumber carefully inspected all the valves and pipes as well as the water heater.

This sounded like a great deal but they were so over booked they never showed up. We tried several time to get it done but could. We gave up

I purchased the water heater tune up coupon. When I called the company to schedule a service, they gave me an appointment within a few days. When the person came out to service my water heater he told me that my water heater was too old to service and had to be replaced. He said he would not charge me for the call. The money was returned to my account right away. I appreciate their professionalism. I will use them again should the need arise.

I kept calling them to schedule the work and never got a call back.

Came on time and fixed the issues quickly and professionally. Great company and I would not hesitate to recommend them again.

I purchased an item for them to install. There was a part missing from the box. I then stated that I could have him work on another area and he didn't want to do that. He said he could reschedule the work and get the part but it would be an additional cost to me. They eventually installed the item when I received the part from the manufacturer.

They replaced an outside hydrant, replaced a kitchen faucet, and repaired 2 toilets, and fixed a leaky bathroom faucet. He worked fast and was very careful to stay within the 2 hours, even though I told him I would pay extra if it took longer. He did a good job.

I phoned and made the appointment with no problem. The installer was meant to arrive sometime between 9 and noon (I took a half day off work), but he arrived at 12:20 so I had to take a few more hours off work. Apparently he had to go to Home Depot to get the disposal. But he brought the right disposal and tools, so he set right to work. He didn't waste time with small talk or doing other stuff, which I appreciated, and he installed the unit correctly. He cleaned up, taking the old garbage disposal away, and left after assuring that I was satisfied with how the unit ran. The unit was running fine and continues to do so.

I purchased the valve and installation as an Angie's list deal. The installation went very well. I was able to schedule the installation on a day convenient for me, and they were very flexible when I had to reschedule. I recevied a phonecall the morning installation was scheduled and the technician arrived within 30 minutes. He was professional and courteous, and explained what he would be doing. The installation took about 30 minutes, after which he showed me what had been done, and how to reset the valve if necessary, as gave me the box and paperwork for the valve. All in all a very good experience and I have a little more peace of mind in anticipation of "The Big One". Action Services offers other services and I will definitely call on them in the future.

The serviceman showed up on time and seemed professional and knowledgeable. But, he told me that I really didn't need much work done, so he was here for about half an hour. I wish he would have said there isn't enough work here for us to even charge you. It's now a few months later, and the grout in the kitchen that he repaired is starting to crack and peel away from the wall. I didn't really need the service, but I had already paid for it, and he showed up, so I just ended up spending money I didn't need to spend. And, the result was weak. Would not recommend this coupon to anyone. You're stuck with it, even if you don't need it.

Alvarado was terrific. This house was built in 1926 and has many quirky features. What looks like a straight forward repair usually becomes a challenge. Alvarado started on the harder jobs, the exterior trim and the transition/thresholds. He had no problems working with the odd dimensions of the house. He did a fabulous job. I'm very pleased with the results. While he as tightening the kitchen faucet, he noticed that the cabinet doors were uneven. He asked if he could straighten them. Of course, I said yes. He quickly and efficiently fixed them and went on to the next project. I had a couple of questions about some other work and how they could be done. He examined each one and provided good information

The first appointment I set up the company had to cancel do an emergency but they did call in advance to tell me and set a new date for another appointment. The day of the second appointment the service person reviewed all the work to be done over the phone with me (I was not home at the time) When he was finished he call me back and let me know what he accomplished and what he was unable to do and why. I would use this company again.

John spent a bit more time on it and after looking at the working toilet in the next door bathroom identified the problem. He went and purchased the part at the local hardware store and came and fixed it. It has been working ever since. I was not charged anymore and he and his fellow worker were polite and efficient. I will employ them again.

Action Services sent a plumber to me the day after my call, as promised. He arrived on time and gave me an estimate of $135 to repair a tub faucet that mysteriously stopped working and tighten up a sink faucet. He completed the work as promised for that price. I asked about another plumbing issue, a slow drain, and he was very honest and told me that it was not a problem with the drain, just the shape of the sink bowl, that accumulates water and drains a little slow. I would use this company again.

I was told after purchasing that I paid for and estimate only.

I bought an Angieslist coupon for 2 hours of plumbing service, figuring that it would be enough time for them to go to two different apartments to undrain the clogs. Rafeal came to the first apartment where the sink/toilet were clogged and told me that the toilet needed to be replaced and that the sink was clogged because the previous plumber who had installed the sink installed the piping wrong. I was suspicious of his diagnosis so I elected to hold off on having him work on either issue until I received a second opinion. This took about 20 minutes of the 2 hours I had. So, at that point I asked him to drive the second location with me in order to snake a clogged toilet over there. Even though the two apartments were literally a few blocks from one another (a 2 minute drive), Action Plumbing would not service the second location without an additional charge-- this despite the fact that no work had been performed at the first location and I still technically had an hour and 45 minutes left on my coupon for plumbing services. Because I did not have enough fight in me that day, I agreed to the additonal charge in order to simply get the clog at the second location cleared. We went to the second location and he snaked the clogged toilet. A week later I had another plumber from another company I found on Angieslist come to look at the sink and toilet in the first apartment-- the ones that Rafeal told me needed to be replaced. The new plumber said that the clog in the sink had nothing to do with the way it was installed, Rafael just needed to put the snake further down the drain. Problem solved. As for the clogged toilet? The new plumber looked at it for about 5 minutes and informed me that the clog was due to calcified hard water deposits that had covered the hole where the water comes into the toilet. He scraped the area with a screw driver for 10 seconds and the problem was solved. No need to re-install the plumbing under the sink or replace the toilet. Bottom line: Will not be using Action Plumbing again as long as Rafeal is still working there.

I chose not to pay them twice for no work.

I am a very meticulous person, and this being my first "large" renovation and home spending, I thought I could plan out every detail so that I could get the most while spending the least. For this bathroom, I spent roughly $12,000.00. My initial budget was $4,000 (as the worst case scenario). I purchased a 1-week 40hr labor coupon for $1,500 on Angie's List. My first shock/disappointment: 40hrs is for 40hrs for 1 person. It takes more than 1 person to do a job. It took around 2 guys working 8hrs a day for about 2.5 weeks to finish my small 5' by 8' bathroom. (Some time inbetween were waiting time, and also time for me to make certain decisions.) Of the $12,000.00 i spent, almost 50% were for the labor (WAY more than I thought it would be). And the rest was from "Oh but I'm only going to remodel this bathrom ONE time, so I better get the "better" toilet/sink/towel bar", etc. Action Services make mistakes too, but it mainly happens with their administrative staff. The initial process came with a bit of a headache. They quoted me for a service, and then when I agreed to it, they went back and said so-and-so from our office made a mistake and that work scope is not correct. WHAT?!??! I couldn't believe it. And on top of all that, it happened twice. It was frustrating to say the least. Also, beware, Action Services have no problem saying "If you don't feel comfortable with the pricing, you can return your Angie's List purchase and we will refund the money." Errrr... this I did not like. I was bargaining for a better price, and then they tried to get out of the game altogether. However, with those few unhappy events aside, I was extremely happy with the results. They were not extremely on-time (said they'll show up at 7:00am, but shows up at 8:00am), but the work got done day by day, and the results were amazing. Although we had disagreements and I had disappointments, the most important thing is that the final result was Extremely Impressive, and they were so into detail, that I was totally happy with the work, and if no one reminded me, I would totally forget that anything unpleasant happened during the process. I have two more bathrooms and once I save up enough money, I will contact Action Services again for their Outstanding job.
