A to Z Chimney Services

The only thing I can add is they found a issue with the top of the chimney that if not fixed soon could produce a major repair to the house in the next few years. We will have that work done in the next month. We are thankful they found the problem and also can fix the problem. We trust them to do the work and will again use them in the future.

This experience exceeded my expectations! Aaron measured once and advised me of my options, allowing me to decide what exactly I wanted. No pressure! Information was excellent and pertinent to my needs. Mick installed screens in timely fashion to accomodate my upcoming travel plans. The house looks amazing and the people who made it happen are outstanding! From Cathy, the office manager, to the owner, Aaron and his installer/fabricator, Mick............all know their job and take pride in their work. What a novelty in this day and age! I will definitely use them again!

A-Z came out to clean our two chimneys. That night my husband went to start the fire and had a problem. We called Matt and he called us right back. He came to the house and fixed the problem immediately. WOW!!! Amazing customer service. I have referred all our friends to A-Z. Thanks Angie!!!!

Things went just as we anticipated.

I was supprised. The lady I talked to on the phone was polite and apologetic but thiswas more than I could aford to spend at the time.

I bought a forclosure home and did not know the condition of the fireplace or chimney. Their rep had all the right tools, a specialized vacuum that captures all the dust and even a camera probe so he could show me before and after. The area was spotless after he was done and he also took the time to show me problem areas in the fireplace and how to fix them going forward. He also told me what to expect from the type of fireplace we have (like the ones in most new homes with ceramic panels in stead of real bricks). He also told me about a product that you can spray into your fire which will decompose the resin and creosote buildup which makes sweeping more effective the next time. All in all, a very good experience.

It was a positive experience overall. Used the Big Deal offer and received the discounted price.

Tony came out and quickly replaced all the old bug screens for me then proceeded to clean the dryer vents and my chimneys. He showed me the huge bag of lent left over from the dryer vents and told me how to properly care for my fireplaces. Then he cleaned up after everything like he was never here, I highly recommend.

I am very pleased. Tony arrived a little late, but called to let us know. The work was done efficiently and he explained everything clearly. I would definitely use this company again.

Overall the company did what they said they were going to do. I did e-mail the company about my experience with the service, but never got any response back. I will next time call out a different company for this service.

I highly recommend this A to Z Window Screens & Chimney Sweep. Tony came in took care of the cleaning, the full camera inspection, showed me what issues currently exist with my fireplace through the camera, and was very clean. Afterwards, you would have never known A to Z Window Screens & Chimney Sweep were ever in our home.

The owner Aaron first came over and took the measurements for each window and then after a couple of weeks a worker came over and installed all the window screens and the door. Very professional work, excellent service and prompt response. Have already recommended them to a friend.

He showed up on time, had a good professional and respectful manner. I learned a lot about what causes build up in the chimney and how frequently a sweep should be done depending on the amount of wood that is burned per year. Conversation was, therefore, educational and full of interest. The inspection was done from the roof down and with a camera from the fireplace up. He fully swept the chimney and kept all the surrounding area clean. Great service! Definitely will use again.

Very difficult job tall A-frame roof and high chimney that was very coated with Creosote.Did a very good, complete job. cleaned up the entire mess.

They cleaned the chimney first, then put a video camera up from inside the family room and showed me the inside of the flue. They claimed several of the gaps in the mortar between the flue sections were dangerous and could start a fire and should be repaired before using the fireplace. They recommended a product that they sell called "Heat Shield Sealant" and explained the process. The estimate to reline the inside of the chimney was $1,415. To reseal the mortar on the chimney crown would cost another $230. I appreciated knowing the condition of my flue and seeing it on camera but did not think the condition of my chimney was that dangerous. I only use my fireplace in the winter. I only burn about 12 fires each year and I've not had any problems for the past 10 years. I declined having any work done at that time, feeling my limited use didn't warrant the cost.

A to Z Windows did a great job-- they were easy to coordinate with, the price was great, and a year later I am still very happy with the new screens.

Overall a very positive experience. They were on time and quickly provided an estimate on how long the job would take. The estimate was a longer than I'd hoped especially since we were meeting some friends for dinner and thought we'd be late. They managed to get the job done quickly and efficiently (no corners were cut) which allowed us to meet our friends on time. I'm planning on hiring this company again.

They are responsive, professional and clean up after themselves. It's a family owned company. I have refered them to others and they loved them.

Job is 50% complete, but based on experience thus far, they have performed as promised and installed one security door and the sun screens. Completely satisfied. Very professional. Still waiting on security door for front door. They explained it would take 6-8 weeks to get door from manufacturer.

Staff arrived on time. Brought all of their equipment to keep my house clean. Two guys worked together very well. Noticed a problem with the top of my chimney and provided a reasonable solution. I had my roofing guy fix it instead. Overall, very good.

Apologies! We should have done this months ago. My wife thought I had done it and I thought she had. Anyway, these people are excellent - notified in advance, showed up on time, did a great job, cleaned up after themselves, and gave us a thorough report. We recommend them highly. Again - sorry for the delay.

The actual work process was acceptable. Ryan arrived toward the end of the "window" scheduled. The actual cleaning and inspection process went smoothly, neatly, and courteously. Ryan was in and out of the house almost without notice, and with careful attention to keeping the interior area clean. (I waited for his agreeable help moving a heavy sofa out of the way; on finish, he left before I asked or he offered his help moving it back.) He wrote up a report (acknowledging hard to read his writing), and orally summarized his inspection findings. He included estimates, to repair broken mortar at top, or to do a larger job repairing "a couple of minor fine cracks in the flue at top which really shouldn't be any problem, I wouldn't worry about them". I said I was concerned about this mention showing up on a report in case of future insurance problems, and he told me a typed up report would be arriving in a day or so from the office, along with photos. Those photos were emailed as promised, but without a final report, or resolution of the "cracks" reference. Office follow-up was less smooth, but always courteous. There followed two weeks of back and forth emails and phone calls about office delays ("busy, a time-consuming process, needing to get back with Ryan on details", etc.). On May 10, I finally received an email summarizing the work and findings and another set soy photographs, none of which showed the reported "cracks" (because, I had been told by Ryan in a follow-up visit to explain, their camera could not get beyond the bend in the flue at top). This report repeated the hand-written repair estimates. I scheduled, then cancelled the smaller repair job for reasons of cost and already available professional help on the premises. This was a job hired in response to a featured Angie's List "special", and the work done met the company's offer.

I had A to Z come out to do a chimney sweep on my house after purchasing a deal through Angie's List. The tech was friendly, on time and left no mess at all. He used a camera after sweeping to inspect my chimeny. He showed me areas that weren't as good as they should have been. I asked if I need to have it repaired and he said no, for what I know about chimneys, he could have easily said yes and cost me unneccessary money. One of the tiles in the back of the fireplace was cracked, he let me know the options I had and the lifetime of each the options. I believe this company is honest and rather than take advantage of their customers, truly want to keep them. I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely use them again.
