We discussed the job thoroughly. They were here for three hours. They gave me a number of ideas. I looked forward to working with them. They told me they would fax over an estimate, and three weeks later I have not heard from them.

Ed and Keith were on time, personable, knowledgeable, thorough, quiet and resourceful. We were very pleased with the quality of their work, and they were easy to have around the house. Thanks, guys and thanks, Angie.

Ed Bernardo handled the subs (I am an absentee owner--vacation home). He was prompt, reliable, and got the job done as planned. A very pleasant experience. I am consulting with Ed regarding a major kitchen remodel.

Ed never returned email or calls. He promised an estimate in 3 days and finally emailed one to me a month later! His price was more than double three other estimates I received so at least he provided some comic relief!

These folks really went above & beyond. I called and spoke with Julie Bernardo about adding a second story addition to a property we are buying. Julie informed me that Bernardo Construction doesn't do second story additions. I asked her if she could recommend someone. She said she didn't know and would check around. I gave her my contact info & figured that was that. The next day when I checked my e-mail she had sent me the contact info for a company that does additions. I thought that was really awesome. She took the time to help me out even though it wasn't for work that her company would be performing. I was very impressed.

Ed and his team were extremely knowledgeable of the codes. The frenchdoors that we picked from DixieLine were perfectly installed. Daily clean-up was never a question. They even moved an A/C register to accommodate the overall look. We then had them install our new deck. They are overall handymen as well. I highly recommend them. Sometimes they get real busy and may find it hard to immediately respond but who hasn't experienced that problem with so-called handyman and construction professionals. "Some people can never be satisfied" was the last comment by Ed when I expressed my feelings about the work. Based on my estimate, this work should cost only $2600. I went with Ed because of all the good feedback on this list & was thinking that I'm working with 1 contractor. Electrical: OK finish - anybody could've done it. Texture: Shoddy job. Didn't do a good cleanup job. Didn't put the furniture back in place. Left the plastic sheets & waste material in a box inside the house. They even left their own drink mugs on the hardwood floor (ice water dripping on the floor). Splattered texture material all over (still finding on wall & other places) - this is because they didn't spend enough time preparing before starting the work. Minor damage to hardwood floor moving the furniture. Painting: Not a bad job. Overall, in my opinion, I didn't get my money's worth.

Ed was prompt to come out and review work to be done. I have not heard from him since! I feel it was a waste of time and he should have at least called if he was not going to send an estimate as promised!

ED, THE OWNER IS GREAT. HE IS VERY ACCOMMODATING AND HAS LOTS OF IDEAS TO DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY AND SAVE MONEY. HE IS VERY HONEST AND THAT'S HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS IN THE CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS. ALL THE WORK IS QUALITY.

Ed Bernardo and his company were very professional. They returned calls and kept appointments. They performed work on time and in the manner promised. The work site was left clean.

WHAT I REALLY LIKED ABOUT HIM WAS THAT I CALLED AND SPOKE TO HIM AND HE CAME OVER IN A TIMELY PERIOD. HE SPENT A LONG TIME WITH ME. HE'S VERY NICE AND EASY TO WORK WITH. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT HIM. I WOULD PUT HIM ON THE PAGE OF HAPPINESS BECAUSE HE IS A GREAT GUY AND DOES EXEMPLARY WORK. THE NEAT THING ABOUT THIS SERVICE PROVIDER IS THAT THEY CAN DO ALL TYPES OF WORK.

THEY CLEANED UP WHEN THEY LEFT SO EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I FELT LIKE THEY DID EVERYTHING IN RECORD TIME. THEY ALSO GAVE ME A DISCOUNT.

KEITH DID AN EXCELLENT JOB, WAS ON TIME AND DID EVERYTHING HE PROMISED. THE WORK WAS FIRST RATE.

MR. BERDARDO DID COME OUT AND REVIEWED OUR PROJECT. TOLD US IT WOULD BE A FEW DAYS BEFORE WE WOULD GET A QUOTE. WAITED FOR A WEEK OR MORE. CALLED FINALLY GOT QUOTE FOR THE WHOLE PROJECT AT $15,000. CALLED AGAIN FOR QUOTE ON EACH PROJECT - DETAILED - NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING.

COST IS ONLY A GUESS - DID NOT RECEIVE AN ESTIMATE. DISAPPOINTED - I CANNOT GET A RETURN EMAIL OR PHONE CALL AFTER SPENDING THE TIME TO COME OVER AND MEASURE. IT IS QUITE POSSIBLE THAT HE DID NOT WANT TO WORK SO FAR FROM HIS AREA, AND I UNDERSTAND THAT, BUT SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME IF HE CHOSE NOT TO TAKE THE JOB. THOUGH MY EXPERIENCE WAS NOT GOOD BECAUSE OF NO RESPONSE, I THINK THEY WOULD BE WORTH CONTACTING IF YOU ARE CLOSE TO THEIR AREA. I THINK THAT IF A COMPANY DOES NOT WANT TO WORK IN YOUR AREA, IT SHOULD BE NOTED. HIS REVIEW ON THE LIST SAID YES TO SOLANA BEACH AND HE CAME OUT FOR THE ESTIMATE, BUT APPEARS HE CHANGED HIS MIND. THE COMPANY IS IN LAKESIDE, SO I UNDERSTAND, BUT WOULD NOT HAVE CONTACTED HIM AND WASTED MY TIME IS THE LIST SAID NO TO MY AREA. I THINK YOU SHOULD ASK HIM TO VERIFY THE AREAS HE IS WILLING TO WORK IN AND NOTE THEM.

I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY WERE ACTUALLY PROFILED ON THE LOCAL NEWS THE DAY BEFORE I CALLED THEM. THE OWNER STATED HE WOULD HAVE GROWING PAINS BECAUSE OF THE PUBLICITY FOR ANGIE'S LIST BUT THEY NEVER CALLED ME. I WON'T BE CALLING THEM AGAIN.

ED AND ALL OF HIS HELP WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. I HAD BEEN SEARCHING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS FOR HELP FINDING THE LEAK. ED FOUND IT THE FIRST DAY AND WITHIN A WEEK IT WAS FIXED AND THE WALLS WERE REPAIRED AND PAINTED. THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE. HE WAS THE ONLY PERSON I CALLED WHO WAS WILLING TO TACKLE THIS UNUSUAL JOB. THEY WERE WONDERFUL TO HAVE IN MY HOME--I WOULD GIVE THEM A KEY IF NECESSARY.

KEITH WORKED ON HIS OWN. HE WAS PUNCTUAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, PERFORMED A COUPLE OF EXTRA DUTIES (THEY CHARGE AN HOURLY RATE FOR MOST WORK)AND CLEANED UP BEHIND HIMSELF EXTREMELY WELL. OVERALL, THIS WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND I WILL WORK WITH THESE FOLKS AGAIN.

I COULD ONLY GET AN ANSWERING MACHINE WHEN I CALLED.

OVERALL, OUR EXPERIENCE WITH BERNARDO CONSTRUCTION WAS FABULOUS. KEITH IS EXTREMELY COURTEOUS, FRIENDLY AND A VERY HARD WORKER. HE WENT OVER AND ABOVE WHAT WE EXPECTED. I WOULD HIRE HIM/THEM OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER. REALLY, EVERYONE AT BERNARDO MADE WHAT I EXPECTED TO BE AN ORDEAL (BASED ON PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH HANDYMEN) A VERY SMOOTH, EASY, STRESS-FREE TRANSACTION. I WISH WE HAD FOUND BERNARDO A FEW YEARS AGO!

HONEST AND HELPFUL, THEY ARE OUT TO HELP PEOPLE NOT RIP THEM OFF.

I WAS REALLY HAPPY WITH THE WORK BERNARDO CONSTRUCTION DID. ED ALWAYS ANSWERED HIS PHONE WHEN I HAD A QUESTION ABOUT THE PROJECT. HE AND HIS CREW WERE THERE WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE.

WHEN ED BERNARDO CAME OUT TO MY HOUSE TO GIVE ME A BID ON THE WORK I NEEDED DONE, HE NOTICED MY SLIDING GLASS DOOR WAS NOT OPENING CORRECTLY, HE FIXED THAT FOR ME JUST AS A COURTESY. EVEN THOUGH HE WAS VERY BUSY, HE WAS VERY PROMPT AT SENDING HIS BID FOR THE WORK. WE SCHEDULED A DATE AND TIME AND HE AND HIS FOREMAN WERE THERE AT EXACTLY THE TIME HE SAID AND SET TO WORK IMMEDIATELY. ALL WORK COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE WITH BERNARDO CONSTRUCTION. I WILL DEFINITELY CONTACT HIM AGAIN FOR ADDITIONAL WORK. BEST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD WITH A CONTRACTOR!
