+ 1 moreWe were very pleased with all aspects of Robert Sappo's work. I have shared his name and my experience with neighbors and will use him again for other projects.
Description of Work: I originally contacted Robert for some minor plumbing work in the kitchen and a bathroom. This included rerouting the cold water line and removing a leaky undersink water filter and heater, plus replacing a faucet in the bathroom. I was so impressed with his approach and professionalism I had him give me a price on changing out a gas water heater and circulating pump that was on it's last legs. He completed this job on time and the work was exceptional.

+ -1 moreWE called Robert to interview him over the phone and find out what his qualifications were for all of the repairs that we needed. He assured us that he was capable of completing all of the projects and gave us a window of when he would be able to stop by. Within the week he arrived and took note of all of our needs and was able to work on our project that day with one of his assistants. By the end of that day they had finished and they even took the time to double check the faucet that I they had installed to insure there were no further leaks under my sink. Robert is very personable and enjoyable to have around, which is also a plus!
Description of Work: Robert was able to complete many needed projects around my home including plumbing issues. He was very professional and was so easy to work with. It is so nice to be able to call one person to come in a complete everything at one time. I would totally recommend him and his company to my friends and family.

+ 0 moreI found Robert through Angie's list. He came out the next day to give me an estimate, which I was satisfied with so I asked how quickly he could do the work, fully expecting to have to wait. He started and finished the job that same day! He is very pleasant, and very professional. I will definitely hire him again and tell my family and friends. Turns out he is a general contractor so there are many jobs that I now have in mind for him. He and his assistant work well together and seem to enjoy their work.
Description of Work: Run approx 25 feet of PVC conduit. Supply and install switch above interior outlet. Extend power from existing interior outlet to outside box. Connect existing PVC conduit. Supply and install two duplex outlets (4 outlets total). One of four outlets was set up to control the outside fountain. Robert provided suggestions for the job that I would have never thought of--very helpful.

+ 0 moreVery well. My skylight motor was cracked and dangling from the ceiling. Robert found a company that had replacement motors and he installed it. Then we discovered that the control switch was not working. No one made the part anymore. Robert found a company that refurbished that particular switch. It was less expensive than putting in a new system, especially since I had already replaced the motor. He installed it at a cut rate price. It was a pleasure working with him. I would definitely call him again for repairs.

+ 8 moreWe were extremely pleased with the work ethics of Robert and his crew. They were very professional. They showed up on time, covered traffic areas with tarps and plastic to avoid damaging the floors, and cleaned up everything very nicely each day before leaving. Robert had scheduled a two-week+ block of time for this project and was here every day during that period (instead of dividing his time between several projects simultaneously) and we liked that we had his full attention. The quality of the work he and his crew did is outstanding -- the tiling, grouting, painting etc. is that of master craftsmen. Robert is a perfectionist and he made sure the the job area was pristine when he left the completed project, even cleaning the windows in the bathroom. Robert also went above and beyond the scope of work and helped us out by hauling away a large old console TV which we had been trying to get rid of. We are very happy with our gorgeous new bathroom and highly recommend Robert Sappo Construction.
Description of Work: Robert Sappo Construction did the following work for us: Removal of old 70s-style tiled Roman tub and shower in our master bathroom, installation of soaking tub and shower head, construction of a custom step outside the bathtub, tiling of tub surround (including custom shampoo niche), tiling of bathroom floor and floor of vanity area in master bedroom, painting of bathroom, and installation of three new toilets in our home. Robert also installed grab bars in tub area, towel bar and toilet paper holder, and new lighting fixture trim.

+ -1 moreRobert is also a licensed contractor and insured, so we are getting the benefit of that. I think he is also bonded, as well. He did us a favor and removed a fixture to change a light bulb on the ceiling.He and his assistant were very nice.We would definitely recommend them and use them again. I like the fact that he is a licensed contractor and very knowledgeable. They performed the work in a timely manner and knew what they were doing, plus were very nice to deal with.
Description of Work: I called and Robert and his assistant came here approximately 15 minutes after we spoke. I let him know we needed someone to come over because we couldn't open the door from our house to the garage and couldn't get to our car. This concerned us. He said it was the door knob and went to Home Depot to get another one for us. We called him to ask him about a lever door knob so he suggested bringing the less expensive one and the lever one back so we could choose. I also asked him to attach this piece of wood in our kitchen that no one else I asked could do. I didn't want nails showing and the others didn't know how. He did.

+ 0 moreRobert squeezed us into his busy schedule. He arrived on time and was very pleasant and cheerful. He replaced the smoke alarm with confidence even though it was a wired model and had AC current flowing through it. He then removed our old light fixture in the bathroom quickly and easily. We had two new fixtures to choose from and when we told him we preferred the one that was not exactly the same as the old one, he assured us he could make it work. He proceeded to install the new light fixture and made it fit perfectly into the same space as the old one. It looked fantastic and we were very pleased with the final result. We would recommend his work to anyone who needs this sort of thing and would hire him again.

+ -1 moreWhen our old attic stairs failed I bought a replacement unit at Home Depot and called Robert to bid the installation. He stopped by our home the next day and looked at the job and within two days I received his very reasonable bid. When I made the decision to proceed I was able to schedule the appointment for the next day. Robert and his helper showed up on time and completed the job in a timely and professional manner. We are pleased that he was able to perform the work so quickly since we were having a hot spell and the hot air from the attic was coming into the house through the old broken stair. We're very pleased with our experience with Robert and will definitely use him again for other projects. Robert is a nice guy with a great work ethic.

+ 0 moreI obtained two estimates from electricians before contacting Bob. Both of the original estimates were less but they didn't include all the work that needed to be done. Painting was not included and I was told I would have to find my own painter. I was also told that hauling away the trash was my responsibility since it needed to go to a hazardous waste site. I called Sappo Construction and Bob came out and gave me an estimate. It included hauling away the trash and painting. He went over all my options and other choices I had in great detail so I knew exactly what i was getting. He said he was very busy and if I didn't mind he could complete the work over a few days. This sounded fine with me so I hired Bob and his crew. The electrical work was completed on the first day. At the end of each day his guys took down the plastic and swept the floor so the kitchen was usable after they left. The finished work looks great. I went with Bob to pick out the crown molding that was to be used. It was installed. the painting was done and I had new lighting and it was all painless.The men that work for him were meticulous. They noticed some small problems with my kitchen ceiling so they repainted the whole ceiling not just the recessed lighting area.
Description of Work: II had the fluorescent lighting in my kitchen removed and replaced with recessed lighting

+ -1 moreThe estimate was fair, the work occured on time, the finished job looks beautiful, and Bob and his crew were very friendly and professional. What more can I ask for. I think I have found the handy man I have been looking for.
Description of Work: A 2nd story window had a rain leak that a previous contractor could not fix. Bob surveyed the job and obviously knew what to do. Bob and his crews removed the stucco from around the window, applied new and more substantial self sealing flashing, and re-stuccoed the work with a matching color coat. They also cleaned up after themselves. The finished work looks beautiful and will very probably not leak again. If it does Bob said he will come back and take care of the problem.

I thought when I met him that no one could be that nice. He is a pleasure to work with and all of his helpers were the same. They were very competent.

+ 1 moreIt went great. Extremely fast. No waiting. Great cleanup after, they even hauled off some extra junk we wanted to dump because there was room in their truck. Also before the painters came to paint the house we needed a lot of overgrown grape vines removed that had taken over a large section of our roof and he found someone we really were impressed with who did a great, fast, job ; again within our rushed time frame and also hauled off some extra trash to fill up their truck.
Description of Work: I had a time frame in which I needed a roofing project done and Robert was not only thorough and prompt and answered each and every phone call but said sure I'll get it done for you in the time you need it done and did so, no question. He was very knowledgable and explained what needed to be done and how and pointed out what had been done wrong previously by others that caused the leaks and damage in the 1st place. He gave me a free quote and stuck to it. In the middle of the job a new unseen problem came up and he explained a couple of ways to fix it and suggested going the simplest cheapest way which was great and worked out fine. Also the sides of the small building had some rot on the bottom and he said if we started to remove any wood there it would never end and the job would grow and grow and suggested a cheaper way to go later down the line if I should so decide. Since my time was limited I put it off for the time being. I was having my house painted and wanted gutters when that job was finished, again within a particular time frame, and he measured the roof (this being a different and much larger building) quoted a price and said call when I would be ready for the gutters which I did. he had the gutter guy out there in one day and when his measurements came out to be a bit more Robert called me immediately and said just pay the guy outright and since his 1st measurements and quote were wrong he would not take his contractors fee.

Description of Work: We had some damage to our property from the storm last winter and were concerned that our water pipe would soon break. We had Robert Sappo and his crew fix the pipe prior to the actual break and not having water. He put some elbows in, cut the pipe, added some new pipe and placed the pipe up in a more secure location so there was no danger of it taking off down the hill due to erosion.

+ 11 moreI was very pleased with the job from start to finish. Robert was timely in coming to view our home to provide us with time and dollar estimates of the work we wished to have completed. The job flowed smoothly, there were very few delays. Those delays we did experience were due to our indecisions regarding products and colors. Robert was very good about letting me know what work was scheduled and what to expect. The work encompassed four rooms and was planned in such a way that we were able to get the greatest use of the affected areas during construction.The final result was spectacular; the finish work is impeccable! Throughout the job, Robert worked to keep the area as clean as possible. Floors were covered, plastic barriers were installed to reduce the effect of the constructon on the rest of our home. Our house has had a 20 year history of leaking windows. Despite years of repairs by the original builder, we still were unable to sleep through a rainy night. Following the remodel and window replacement we had one of the wettest winters in recent history. For the first time in 20 years we made it through several severe storms without a single leak. It's great to be able to enjoy the sound of rain again. We're in the process of developing plans for the next phase of our remodel and we will definitely use Robert Sappo again.
Description of Work: Robert completely remodeled a downstairs bathroom, installed travertine flooring in the remodeled bathroom and an adjacent bedroom. A window in the guest bedroom was replaced with a sliding glass door. The dining room window configuration was changed. The window wall was reframed to include a 4 panel sliding glass door and 7 additional windows. A greenhouse window in kitchen was removed and replaced with tile roofing, and a transom window was installed. Interior of home was painted. All exterior lighting was replaced. All replaced windows involved removal and replacement of stucco on the exterior of the home.

Description of Work: We set up an appointment for Wednesday. When we were done he said "OK, I'll see you Tuesday." I corrected him that it was Wednesday and he agreed. After waiting for him for two and a half hours I left to do other thing. I got a voice mail call from him Wednesday evening saying he couldn't make the THURSDAY time and asking to reschedule.

+ -1 moreAlthough the job seems small, it was made far far more complex by the previous homeowner's electrical contractors. Much of electrical work in our kitchen was not up to code and this made the task of identifying the source of the problem very time consuming for Robert. In his efforts to fix the problem for us, Robert had to return at least 4 times. He spent many hours trying to diagnose the problem and even went so far as buy extra tools/equipment at his own expense. When the source of the problem was finally found Robert quickly, efficiently and very carefully fixed the two outlets. He also checked in before he made any major decisions and told us what the problem was, how he intended to fix it and why it was necessary to do this. Overall we had a terrific experience with Robert and Robert Sappo Construction. Robert is honest, hardworking and diligent and strives to ensure that his customers are left satisfied with the work completed. We will continue to use Robert for future work and would highly recommend him to anyone. Thanks Robert.
