They used to be very good and all of a sudden their work was not the quality that used to be and it was far more expensive. The last service they did for me cost me a lot of money.

Checked for downstream blockage - there was none. Checked from main toilet to main drain - nothing found but he said it looked suspicious. So ran rooter from main drain upstream to toilet and finally found the drain. A determined effort that cleared the blockage.

For what they did, the price was high even with the Angie's List discount. The service rep that came out didn't know there was a service pre-purchased and most of the time was spent diagnosing it was the flame sensor. The repair didn't take long once he diagnosed that, so the price was quite high for such a routine repair. I might choose to use them again, but likely would search for another provider based on price.

It went fine. I had them give me an offer on the price of a new system and it was too high so I went with somebody else. They came out with in three days. I bought the deal to get an evaluation and it was fine but their price was a little high for the actual work.

I would tell another person to get a second opinion before using this service provider. I don't recommend them. I don't fully trust them. When they made mistakes, they thought we were satisfied. They did send another person out, to correct the mistakes but I feel like they should have just done that. They never did what they were supposed to do. They were supposed to find a leak that we had in our air conditioning system and they never did. We weren't satisfied with their communication either. They have really poor communication skills with their customers. I was surprised because I read all the reviews and I thought this was a reputable established company but we were not satisfied. They gave us an outrageous quote, some pretty crazy prices and options. I wouldn't go with them. Their punctuality was fair.

It worked out pretty good. They checked it out and gave us some recommendations. They fixed the problem on the same day. They were very honest and did a good job. They're straightforward with the repairs that were made. They were on time, prompt and friendly. It was based on what I wanted, they're available.

They did the job just fine, but they tried to upsell me which I did not appreciate.

Wonderful job. Very professional. Happy to have a service contract with them.

Since then I have purchased a deal from them. Their pricing is good too.

It worked out well. All of the above was fine. The guy came in and made sure that he had checked our air conditioning unit well. He did quality work. He was nice. I think he was okay.

They do an amazing job! The tankless water heater was about $2,400. The water softener was $1,300. The sink was $600. They are timely, courteous, and clean. The workers are very nice and professional. They get the job done right and they answer all my questions. I will be calling them today actually to snake a drain.

I've used this company three times total. They will be my new go to for plummer and air conditioning.

Work quickly and efficiently to resolve my plumbing problem. Also gave me a fair quote to replace the same thing needing repair on the rest of my sinks in the house. Was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

Unbeknown to the tech, I had already had another company do a "tune-up" 2 weeks earlier, but was told with the heat wave the higher temperature was the best I could expect. He came out and immediately found I had a clogged condenser coil, and after he thoroughly cleaned it, had the air working perfectly before he left. I still not sure why I had to pay an additional 62.50, but at the time I was so angry with the first company, and so happy to have the A/C working again, it wasn't until he left that I wondered why I had to pay the additional amount. I have since left a message inquiring, but have not heard back from them.

The technician was very polite and prompt in responding to the call. Very professional in terms of their approach. However, the unit tripped the circuit once again, about 40 minutes after the technician left, so the solution clearly did not improve the problem. We called them back and he indicated there was nothing else he could do, and recommended a new system. We ended up spending about $220 more than the cost of the original service call, based on the advise of the technician. However, I will say he was clear with us that it may not solve our problem, so we knew we were gambling a bit with the work. We brought the same company out for an estimate on the new system. I was a bit surprised there was no discussion from them about crediting any of the initial work toward a new system. We ended up not going with them, in part because this was not offered, and in part because they were a bit more expensive than a comparable bid.

They did a great job. I have had them come out and complete some more work. The people who came out were pleasant and professional. I would recommend them to anyone.

Scheduling appointment was easy. The, owner Archie McLay, came to my house and discussed the work scope before his Technicians arrived. Chad and Mike did a nice job, and cleaned up after themselves. Best of all my Furnaces and AC units are running much better and less!

It was excellent. I’ve used them before. I didn’t need any repairs. They are a little pricey, but do excellent work. They were very responsive and punctual. Scheduling was very easy.

I bought a "deal" on Angie's List for an A/C service call for $49.00 (a $79.00 value applicable to the cost of repairs) from McLay Services, Inc. McLay was chosen because they were local and had many satisfied customers in my neighborhood, based on their Angie's List reviews. The telephone personnel were very courteous and helpful. I called on a Wednesday late in the afternoon from my work and got the appointment time I wanted for Friday morning. They said they would sent Marty, who had been favorably mentioned as very knowledgeable and professional, so already I was having a good feeling about this whole thing. Researching the reviews on Angie's List is like getting a personnel recommendation from a trusted friend or relative. Well, Marty arrived on time and lived up to his and his company's Angie's List reputation. He was personable, courteous and quietly knowledgeable. He got right to work. The first thing he checked was whether there was adequate power getting to the roof-mounted A/C unit. The reading was very low, so he tested the circuit breaker, which proved to be bad. I happened to have a good 50-amp circuit breaker to replace it. The condenser tested good (to my great relief), but the condenser fan motor and the squirrel cage fan motor were both burned out. In less than an hour, Marty was able to tell me exactly what was wrong, what was needed to fix the problem and about how much it would cost. And, throughout the process, I felt like Marty and I were co-workers working to solve this problem together, rather than like an expert and a novice, although he is definitely an A/C expert! The only downside to the whole experience was the fact that it took ten work days to get the parts. I call McLay Services once during this time and they needlessly apologized for the delay, even though I know it wasn't their fault and if there was some way they could speed things up they would do it. When the parts arrived they called and told me that Marty would be there at 7:30 a.m. , which I doubted, but he was there at 7:25 a.m.! Completion of the entire job took a little less than four hours and it was getting extremely hot on the roof, so Marty and I were very glad it didn't take all day as had been estimated. Once the unit was running, he checked the refrigerant level and added about a pound of Freon. Marty then used a handheld device to check the temperature of the air entering the intake and at the ceiling vents in another room. It was 84 degrees F going in and 62 degrees coming out - extremely good for a 24 year old A/C unit. He also cleaned my HEPA filter and suggest where I might find disposable filters of this odd size (24" X 24"), which would place less strain on the compressor than the HEPA filter. After some adjustments for the deal I had previously paid for and an addition for the Freon the total was less that the written estimate. I wrote a check and have been really enjoying my central air, especially when I come home to a cool house and during the night. Thank you McLay and Marty. I wish I'd called you sooner!

A/C stopped emitting cold air, so we were in need of a technician to check the system. I was given a two hour window appointment time, and the the technician arrived within the window. The fix turned out to be a simple one because it was a plug that was not attached properly in the unit (probably an issue in manufacturing). The technician let me know what the issue was and that he re-attached the plug; the A/C was working again. I appreciated the technicians timeliness, honesty and ability. I will definitely use McLay's services again. I used a $49 cooling and heating service call coupon made available on the McLay Angie's List page.

I had an claim with my home warranty issuance regarding a dysfunctional air conditioning which was only 8 years old. The Home warranty Company sent out one of their contractors who told me the compressor needed replacement and he needed to speak with the insurance before he could start the work. A few days later I was presented with an estimate over $450 in additional cost for coil cleaning, rewiring and plumbing modification charges, to exchange a like for like compressor? As I didn't understand why I had to pay for all these extra charges like $170 for coil cleaning of the exterior condensor ( a job any layman can do in 10 mins and the help of a coil cleaning detergent spray (for less than $5 at your local hardware store) and a garden hose, I did some research on the Isurance's Contractor to find out they had an F rating on Angie's list and other social media, for overcharging people and seemingly fraudulent business practices. I asked my friends for a recommendations for a reliable AC Company, this is how I came to know McLay's. As I really wanted to make sure, that my questioning of all these extra charges was footed in a clear understanding of the issue, I spoke/emailed several time with Talva McLay her husband Archy McLay, who manage McLay Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning, Both went above and beyond, trying to give me all kinds of information to understand the issue and make sure I wasn't being over charged. Without their help, I wouldn't have been able to make clear, that none of these charges we justified. So was able to tell the insurance company to get me another contractor and not pay a dime extra for modification work. As it was an Insurance claim, I unfortunately couldn't work with McLay but had to go with the insurance's own contractor. However, if these guys give you stellar service like this w/o seeing a penny I can just imagine what happenes when one hires them for work. Very unexpected and unusually pleasant experience. I'd hire them any time.

They performed a pluming inspection & found a small leak at the main water shut-off valve. They replaced the valve with a new one and also inspected my water heater & tightened the connections. They arrived on time and were very professional. I would definitely use them again.

Alan arrived right on time. I showed him all the work I wanted to have completed. He gave me a very reasonable quote. He left briefly to get a part and then started immediately on the outlined tasks. The shower had not been functional for many years and was quite difficult to repair. He stuck with it and was successful. All of the work was done efficiently and he cleaned up all work areas. He also suggested some other work that needed some attention. This will be done when I purchase a new faucet and dishwasher. I will definitely be calling McLay Plumbing for all future jobs... The office staff is very friendly and professional. They even responded very quickly to an email I sent with a few follow up questions. I am extremely impressed!

The service turned out fine. There was a big misunderstanding at first. I thought I was buying a routine service and they thought they were offering an inspection. The technician did good work. He was also pleasant and friendly. I had no issues with scheduling.
