Archie came in late Saturday to diagnose and repair on Sunday during his time off!!! Explained what had occured.

They came 2 days in a row to complete the job. They were helpful and professional. They also gave me tips to keep my A/C unit running longer

I called them to make sure my air condition unite was running with no problems. He came and hour early. I was not home but did check the air condition unite and told my daughter that everything is okay. Did leave an invoice with detailed explanation of what he did, and if I have any question to call him.

The technician arrived on time and was very helpful. I did some of the service myself in the days prior to the technician arriving. I asked to have a tune up and a review of the work I did. I had lots of questions and he took the time to answer each one. I'm planning on having some additional attic vents installed in the future and I am certain I will call on McLay for their services. I was very pleased.

After doing a good amount of food prep and putting my garbage disposal to work, I discovered disposal water backing up in my laundry room sink. I waiting a day and tried some home remedies, but without success. I found the reviews for McLay and liked that they were a local business based out of La Verne and that the owners had kindly responded to every review so I called them the next morning. I received a call back within the hour and a plumber was at my door 2.5 hours after I placed the original call. WOW! Mike did a great job. He was very detail-oriented, explained every step to me (I learned a lot about my pipes), and clean. Even after he cleared the line, he triple checked both sinks to make sure I was good to go. While he was there, I asked him about my bathroom sinks that were slow to drain. He took a look and adjusted the stopper heights. He was efficient but didn't operate as if he had somewhere else to be. I really appreciated that. I'm definitely going to call McLay to service my air conditioning in the future as I have had a less than stellar experience with my current provider.

It went very well. He was polite, punctual and very professional. In fact, I'm recommending McLay to a friend who's air conditioning system went out on Saturday.

As above we thought we might be in for a multi thousand dollar replacement of our heating and air conditioning units or an expensive unit repair but Alan proved a professional contractor we could trust and we ended up with a very minimal repair. Their were friendly, courteous, professional and effective. We continue to be able to trust McLays and their employees year after year for many years. Highly recommended.

McLay was very responsive from the initial contact for an estimate and I appreciated the convenience of being able to email them back and forth within the Angie's List website. My emails were responded to very timely and all of my questions were answered as we finalized the work that was going to be performed. The interior work was completed beautifully, Alan making suggestions along the way regarding vanity placement etc. This began as a DIY project during time off from work that simply became difficult to find the time to complete. The pricing was fair, and while I initially intended on completing myself, the quality of the work performed by Mclay was worth every penny to complete this project once and for all. We were not anticipating the additional costs for the exterior shut off valve repair and regulator install, however Alan took the time to check our water pressure and confirmed that not only was the repair necessary, but that our pressure was significantly higher than the recommended level putting us at risk for pipes bursting etc. so we were thankful that he took the time to look into this further. I am not certain that this is related, but for more than a year, our automatic ice maker has jammed and has not made ice properly. I have procrastinated having this looked at and pretty much just accepted the inconvenience of "de-jamming" the ice molding tray as the ice just would not drop down into the container. Immediately after the regulator was installed, the ice maker began functioning perfectly, and our ice bin was filled within a few hours. Perhaps our water pressure was to blame, but we are thrilled with this unexpected benefit of having the regulator installed! The timing is too coincidental so we are assuming the water pressure prior to the install was preventing it from operating correctly. Lastly, when filing our invoices for the work completed, my wife discovered that McLay had performed an air conditioning repair for us approx a year ago. I had not made the connection initially, but thinking back to that repair which was the result of a leak and required immediate attention, McLay was responsive then as well and completed the job correctly and affordably. This recent work technically amounts to us having McLay perform three different and significant repairs for us, and we continue to be very pleased with their service, costs and the quality of their work. Highly recommend!

Vincent was extremely pleasant and did the job in a very professional and efficient manner, leaving the work area clean, as he found it.

The plumber searched for and found a water leak in the commode that had eluded others as it was intermittent, and very small. However, it had leaked for quite some time without being found, causing serious water damage to the flooring up to 10 feet away. Once he found and fixed the leak, we've had no other problems with it. The work was done in a professional, courteous, extremely helpful manner by very polite young man.

All went as planned and promised Allan was our repair man..... Diagnosed quoted and fixed problem in about an hour .... He stuck around after to make sure everything worked properly & had a great attitude....we would use this company again

McLay Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning was very, very good. I'm very happy with the company and I love them. Their price is more expensive, I spent more money but they went for the manufacturer's parts so that I won't have to spend money in the long run.

I used this company last year in August and then again in January. They were very helpful because our furnace wasn't working. They are great, fantastic. That is why we are using them all the time. No problems, they are on the ball, and if something goes wrong, they have a technician out. The service is fantastic, their pricing is very good. They are clean, and they give us exactly what we need to do. They tell us what needs to be done and there have been no problems at all.

Met with Archie McLay, the company owner, for a project estimate 6 days prior to date of installation. He explained the different options available and was very honest and up front regarding the advantages and disadvantages of each Carrier model. Given the limitations of my 1991 house's existing air ducts, I opted for the Performance Series 5 tons, 17 SEER. His proposal included permits and Title 24 Duct Testing and all added up to $9,245.00 (minus the instant rebate of $325, the balance ended up $8,920.00) I decided to go ahead with the project since I felt that Archie could be trusted. His company was highly recommended years before when I purchased appliances from a reputable home appliance store. (I tried to get another estimate from another company, but the owner was a no-show (called the company only to be told that the guy was allegedly stuck in traffic...I can not be bothered with unprofessional behavior from people that I do business with.) Also obtained some info from Costco regarding Lennox products; but my research showed that my main choices are Carrier and Trane. Day of installation, 3 McLay technicians arrived before the specified time. They were very courteous and professional. Communicated well with me and my husband as they proceeded through the whole day's process of removing the old unit, setting up the new system and cleaning up after they were done. All in all, a painless process. I scheduled additional vent cleaning, for which I was given a discounted price. Good job done, McLay people!

After having put up with another company's lack of punctuality and professionalism, we called McLay Plumbing. Alan B. came and was very courteous and did a great job. Seems that the previous company had not bothered to tell us we were almost 2 pounds low on the Freon! Anyway, he checked all the vents (again something not done before) and checked the temperature coming from the A/C. We were very pleased with the work and will be using them to check the furnace in 6 months.

My water heater of 11 yrs stopped working on a Saturday night. The gas company could not send anyone right away until Monday (sometime between 7am-8pm). So I got on Angie's List. I saw an offer for $49 service call from McLay's Plumbing. Liked the reviews and number of years that they had good ratings in Angie's List. So I did not hesitate to call them. They were very helpful and sent a service person within 2 hours with a water heater. The water heater did need to be replaced. I was told they last between 7-12 years on average. The service person did a good job. The only thing I did not like was that the warranty on the water heater. It was only for 6yrs and it was an additional $300 if I wanted to extend it. Also, the total price with the $49 discounted was $1395 which I thought was a bit expensive but I needed it so I agreed to it. Other than that, the responsiveness and professionalism was outstanding. I will call on McLay next time I have a need for a plumber.

The shower diverter had clogged and was worn out and it was stuck like cement, so we had McLay come out to repair it (after calling a couple of other plumbers on Angie's List). The plumber was prompt and informative and did great work. We had bought a set of fixtures already, but he kindly informed us that it was the wrong one! haha! He explained exactly what was needed, gave us a quote, went out and purchased the correct fixtures and installed it. It took a couple of hours -- with the shopping time, and it was sure worth it. It looks good and works great. The plumber we had used in the past went out of business, and that was disappointing, but now we have McLay. I can't tell you what a relief it is to find honest, quality work at a reasonable price.

A hole in the coolant line for the air conditioner caused all the coolent to leak out. This happened on a summer holiday weekend when it was very hot. I called a business that claimed to have an emergency service, but didn't get a call back. McLay was prompt in their response, repaired the damaged line and replaced the coolent. While emergency service in and of itself is not cheap, the bulk of the cost was the coolent.

He was terrific. He would call if he was running late. He gave us his cell phone number if he was needed. He kept everything clean and cleaned up after himself. He was very nice to work with. We will call them again in the future.

Very positive experience. Had a leak in the front yard, city had already determined it was our problem. Tech showed up promptly, diagnosis was spot on, repair done well and quick. i even had him check a concern in our water heater since the price was so reasonable and he found previous repair work had left the vent off. He fixed the issue there as well and total price was very reasonable. Others in my neighborhood saw the work being performed in our front yard and based on our happy response also took his card. Great outfit, we'll definitely use them when required again.
