Handyman Unlimited

Upon looking at the deck from the crawl space, Tom, the owner, suggested adding wood treated support beams along with cement supports. He also suggested removing the old built in spa, which never worked when we bought the house 13 years ago, and adding to our deck space for parties. He did all of that, removed all the trash and rotten wood, sanded, primed and painted the deck, and also fixed all the gates leading to the deck. The job took 6 full days of three to four people, but it looks brand new. I have used them on several occasions for smaller jobs that cost no more than $400, but this was the largest project I entrusted to them, and I am happy with the results. Although the price was steep, it was less than other bids.

Great - better than I expected

Walter arrived on time. He has been here before. He quickly installed the rods. At one point he chipped the plaster, which is why I didn't want to attempt this. I had paint right there from the painter and he painted the chip. He was polite and professional.

Walter did an exceptionally good job on a long list of repairs, which we had deferred because we didn't know who could possibly know how to fix them all. Thanks to Angie's List, we found Handyman Unlimited and Walter. The experience was even better than all the rave reviews on Angie's List! Of note the $830 included both parts and labor. He actually went shopping for the needed items (door knobs, sockets, specialty light bulbs, cabinet hardware, etc.) beforehand. Walter first came out to look at all the items that needed repair and then gave us a bid. While the bid was a bit higher than we would have liked, by the end of the project, we knew that it had been worth every penny. After the bid, he returned another day and spent a full 8 hours completing the work on our list and a few more items that we discovered along the way. His expertise was impressive, and the quality of work was excellent--which is saying a lot because we are considered to be perfectionists. He was friendly and professional as well as highly skilled. One of the best surprises was that he is NOT afraid of heights and brings a giant ladder so he can reach the vaulted ceiling chandeliers, which are very, very high. In addition to his high level of expertise, he is a creative problem solver as we discovered on several occasions. We definitely will use Walter of Handyman Unlimited again.

It took two of them to install the mirror and took longer than an hour to install as the wall was not perfectly flat. The two workers were very nice and professional and I would hire them again.

The handyman was professional and informative. Scheduling was good and he was punctual for the appointment.

The company arrived between 9am-10am as they stated. Two guys were there and did the job in about 1 hour. Great quality work. Can't even tell the holes were there. Now I did have a problem with the company charging soo much for such a small job. Robert (the guy that did the estimate) couldn't really tell me how much the price would be but did mention the comapny charges by half day or full day. I had the pieces of drywall for each hole so all they did was tape off the lines, plaster, and texture which they did a great job of in just about an hour. I believe this job shouldn't have been more than $200 and I eneded up paying $338. If they had painted it as well then I would have agreed with the price but that wasn't the case. Well I bit the bullet on the price and had it done anyways. I needed it done before Thanksgiving and I got fed up having to deal with other companies charging me a minimum of for a small job. Again the quality of work and in the speed they did it in was awesome.

It was done quickly and efficiently. The room was clean after he left. There were no problems.

Juan arrived on time, estimated the job, said he would return next business day with parts and do job. He arrived on time, spent about 45 min of removing stationary door and sliding door in order to do the job. It was not an easy job, but through diligence and experience he was able to finish within the time limit quoted of 1 hour.

Great communication, technician (Juan) was amazing! Prompt quick thorough, very polite! They were a bit pricier than others but well worth it!

They were very good. They came out, did the work and got it done. I would use them again. The price was a little high for what they did but I just want to get it done.

Very good transaction. They showed up on time, got the work done and left the yard clean. Will definitely call them again for help on the next project.

Cesar was prompt and professional. He explained the what needed to be done for the repairs and completed all necessary task that was capable of being repairs. He also maid suggestion on request that were beyond repair. Cesar was pleasant and worked quickly. I plan to have him come back out but this time for some needed painting. I would definitely recommend Cesar as a handyman.

The service was good. I called them and they came out the next day on time to do the work.

It went fine. They did a complete job and they were thorough and on time. I would have liked it to be a little less expensive but it was probably reasonable.

Having used Handyman Unlimited for a previous installation of a new front door, we decided to have them come out to take care of a few random things on three separate visits between November and December 2013. Robert came out and took care of everything that we needed. He was on time and friendly and took care of everything in a timely manner. Yes, we will definitely use Handyman Unlimited again.

I had a lot of trouble even getting anyone to bid on this job - several contractors/companies never answered inquiries. A couple of others came out to look and promised to send bids, but they never did. Handyman Unlimited (HU) was one of only two outfits that responded. However, they did so quite enthusiastically, and their price was essentially the same as the other bidder, who had no reviews on Angie's List. HU sent different people out to evaluate the drywall, stucco, and painting jobs, and their estimates came in within a day or two of their visits. The estimates included a schedule of payments based on specific job completions. The work went smoothly; the only real times when they weren't working was when things had to dry/cure (particularly the stucco), plus one day when it was over 105 degrees out here. The workers did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. I'd also like to point out that the attic fans were a suggestion that one of the HU workers made; the idea hadn't occurred to us. They have worked out extremely well so far. The work seems to be of excellent quality. I would (and will) use HU in the future.

We chose this company because their proposal for our doors were less "invasive," meaning that it didn't require having to knock down walls or open spaces to get the job done, as others suggested. We are very satisfied with his work & will be using this company in the near future.

He was super fast, did a great job and was very, very pleasant. His name was Juan.

They sent me 2 guys and they're name is both Robert. The other one was sent earlier and they're going to give me a bid so I don't really know whether it's a good pricing or not but they might scare me of for the price. I hope it's a good price because I really like to use them. I like them to do it because I really like that guy who came out the other day. He was a really nice guy and also helpful. It seems that he knew what he was doing and he does things that you want it done. This is good because I'm at the age wherein I already need somebody to do things for me. They're very responsive and also punctual that they give you an hour window. Somebody told me that they were pricey but they did suck good work so it's worth it.

Robert was on time, in fact could have been early if I had been available, which to me shows a willingness to keep busy. He knew all about fans, and proceeded to try the simplest possible fix first and then troubleshoot until the problem was identified, repaired, and tested. He let me know what he was doing and why, which I thoroughly appreciate, and assured me that my son could probably fix them if I have the same kind of trouble in the future, but also knowing that Robert is just a phone call away. Robert was professional and courteous. I would trust him with any number of projects in my home, and in fact plan to use him again soon. Two things to note: It is very difficult to find someone who will do the "little" jobs around the house, so he and his company are a God send! Also, although Robert's expertise allowed him to fix the fans in just 30 minutes, there is a one-hour minimum charge, which was still reasonable to me (as a budget-minded retiree) for what got done. Robert recommended that if I need his services again, I should lump several small projects together so I can maximize my hour's worth of time. I am thoroughy delighted and satisfied!

Handyman Robert was very professional, he checked wall for wires etc. Prices are a bit expensive, but he did a great job. A little more customer service on the phone with the representative answering the calls would have been appreciated. Otherwise a good experience would use them again in the future.

I had explained in detail on the phone what needed to be done and requested that the service arrive with materials needed to complete the work. He arrived on time and quickly surveyed the job. Quoted $360.00 for the job and got to work immediately. It took less than one hour and less than $20 worth of material. The job was straightforward and was not at all difficult. I believe the price was outrageously high, but they had me over a barrel. The work needed to be done ASAP and I made the mistake of indicating that to the company when I first contacted them. I expected a fair deal from this Angie's List provider. I don't believe I got one. As a result, I will not recommend this company to others
