Ev arrived right on time. We first discussed exactly what I wanted to get out of the 2 hours I'd paid for. After that we walked though my house and made a list of all the things that would need doing. We also discussed potential designs and furniture pieces to complete a functional office space. We discussed choosing a color scheme that would fit the current look of my home and create a peaceful office space. We also discussed all of the litle fixes needed around the house like paint and crack repair, flooring choices, etc. I found the entire experience to be very beneficial. She provided me with new ideas to make my office dream a reality. She also emailed me a checklist that confirmed everything we discussed. I would be happy to work with her again.

She came with boxes of samples and color books which were really helpful. She also gave us advice on furniture arrangement and carpeting. Most importantly she listened to what we wanted and helped us achieve our goals. She didn't force her ideas on to us. She has a great eye for color combinations and we are excited to see the new colors and what they will do for our house. We have schedule another meeting to go over carpeting, furniture, and finalize paint colors. We were very pleased with Ev and highly recommend her.

Working with ELG Design is truly delightful. Evanne knows just which colors work best and which materials will produce the desired effect. She asks all the right questions to get a sense of a client?s desire for the type of environment to create for a particular room ? whether the choice is for a neutral, peaceful, or energetic space. I appreciated that I could rely on her experience for advice about color choices for smaller spaces. Her ideas for the kitchen color scheme with our existing darker cabinets were encouraging. She suggested an excellent idea for a choice of bathroom tile, which would integrate the blue bathrub/toilet, but create a space that is more neutral than the present d?cor. When you have to use some existing materials, Evanne is creative with coming up with solutions to help the space be new. The kitchen flooring was more of a challenge made less so, due to a trip to Evanne?s wholesaler, who provided samples ? not only for the kitchen, but for the office, and bathroom as well. After bringing samples home, it was clear which choice would be better, especially to match the existing kitchen cabinets. The wholesaler provided strong support by ordering a vinyl tile from the distributor, so that I can be certain I?ve made the right choice. Bathroom tile samples were also mailed to my home. Evanne recommended vinyl flooring both for kitchen and office that really looks like wood, and is durable. Given that both stone and wood flooring can be so expensive, she has a keen perspective on how to save a homeowner expense, and still deliver a quality product. There is quite a variety of flooring options available through Evanne?s wholesalers. With the master bathroom, we agreed to get the color and integration with existing restrictions, using porcelain tiles was the solution. Evanne?s overall process includes measuring floor spaces, color schemes, wall finishes up to and including wall paper, different floor materials, style, and most importantly, considering the client?s perspective for an overall delightful change.

Ev provided me with guidance on the design, size and positioning of my kitchen island. She also provided recommendations on cabinet door style, flooring, countertop, color palette and railing design. She was very thorough and made a point to cover all the items I was interested in having addressed. I needed a road map on how to proceed in the changes I wanted to make to my home and she helped immensely.

It was a very pleasant experience and I would utilize her services in the future.

I recently had some work done in my condo and I needed the place completely repainted. I'm really bad with selecting colors. I purchased an Angie's list deal for a color consultaiton and I'm really glad that I did! Ev came over and selected the perfect colors to match my permanent fixtures (fireplace, floors, size of unit, etc.) I'll definitely look to her when I'm ready to pick out some new furniture. Painting an entire condo can be a bit pricing, so I'd recommend getting Ev's eyes on your colors before forging ahead.

Our situation was perhaps a bit unusual in that I have a lot of experience in the design industry as a rep working with designers and architects, plus have a fairly established (some would say good) design sensibility myself, plus I've worked with almost all of the furniture and artwork in our old home so have experienced living with this stuff for years. For all of those reasons, working with Ev was very collegial and fun. The main thing Ev provided was hard to calculate in dollar terms but invaluable to me ? she got me started. I was feeling pretty stuck and overwhelmed in the midst of the move itself and particularly because of some construction still going on in the house remodel. Everything was still covered with protective sheets and things were pretty chaotic, so Ev got me going! She validated the ideas I'd already considered, kept reminding me how this house is different from our previous condo, and added some fresh ideas of her own that I wouldn't have otherwise considered. All of that said, my sense of Ev is that someone not as versed in design would also experience her as collegial and a collaborative partner. That's just who she is! At the end of our two-hour consultation (and it really does take two hours to accomplish this), things were starting to come together and the house was beginning to emerge as our new home. Thanks to Ev!

Ev was wonderful! It is obvious she is a professional and cares about detail. She brought several different books of paint colors and zeroed in on what would work best for my home. Ev took a lot of time to sit down with me and listen to what I was looking for. The end choices were great. She also provided fantastic ideas for maximizing the space in my home. I would definitely recommend her.

Ev has been a godsend! We are in the process of updating a condo with an eye toward eventually selling it. We turned to for her ideas on making our home more appealing without spending too much money--and doing so in an eco-friendly, less toxic way. She has saved me so much time and energy, tracking down low/no VOC products and tradesman who are familiar with these materials and our indoor air pollution concerns. She has really gone the extra mile in attending to our particular needs while keeping the project (i.e., us) moving forward. She deftly works with my husband and myself to clarify our individual ideas into a shared vision for our home. I tried a few designers before Ev who proved to be either ignorant of chemical sensitivity issues or unwilling to take on this relatively small project. We are still working with Ev, and I cannot say enough good things about her nor recommend her more highly.

I got more than my money's worth - she is really terrific. What I really appreciate is the fact that she works so quickly and really helped me fine-tune what I wanted -

I met with Ev to get her ideas for a bathroom remodel. I had 2 possible layouts in mind & showed her both, without telling her if I had a preference, or why. She reviewed both, making various comments & asking great questions that I hadn?t thought of, ranging from amount of storage needed & for what items, privacy considerations, heat, fan & lighting placement, resale factors (she also has a real estate broker?s license) & more. In doing so, it helped me clarify how to move forward, & what surface materials I might consider. She was able to pinpoint factors to take into account, & made a clear case for which layout she recommended and the reasons. She made additional suggestions that I plan to incorporate. I live in Santa Barbara, so a long distance for Ev to travel, but I believe she is able to accommodate by combining other commitments of hers that are in this direction.

'ecoI was so impressed with her many suggestions & I felt heard; i.e. that she understood my design direction & priorities. She arrived promptly, with samples & magazines in tow, and was both professional & engaging. I felt immediately at ease. I originally thought that we would not need 2 hours, but the time was well-spent without being wasted. She asked me many questions ranging from how I use rooms in my house, my loves & hobbies, favorite & worst colors, & my priorities. She had also suggested that I look through & mark pages in magazines that showed something that I liked - whether color, style, layout, etc., to look at together when we met. That was very useful in helping me to get some focus, & to both of us as talking points. By the end of our initial consultation we had a good idea about what type of window treatments to preview, how to re-arrange some living space, & what types of lighting to consider. I can't wait until she sends me styles to choose from or we go shopping together. I am writing this report right away as I am very satisfied & want to share my experience with other Angie's members.

Extremely helpful home and kitchen design input, very professional.

Nice person. But, encouraged us to meet with a contractor of her choosing. Came to the meeting (we didn't ask her to come, we've met with contractors many times) and then charged us her large hourly rate for her services in calling him, arranging the meeting, and with meeting with him. Meetings with her, in general, always ran twice as long as they needed to be and she always charged for every hour.

It was very good. It was a good design and a good price.

I called and was able to speak to Ev right away. She inquired about my needs and we set up a date for her to visit my home. I e-mailed some pictures of the design areas, so that she could prepare for our meeting. She showed up on time and had good ideas. She offered to design the layout of furniture for my daughter's room at a reasonable price, but I decided to do it myself. We would use her again if we had a need.

Ev was great. She was punctual, had a lot of attention to detail, and really knew what she was talking about. I got estimates from two other interior designers, and they didn't even come close. She gave me a lot of great suggestions during the initial consultation, and I plan to continue to work with her on this project. Overall, and great experience.

Evanne was great. I left her a message letting her know that I was interested in decorating my family room and needed some ideas. I also let her know that I wasn't ready to spend a lot of money but would like her expert advice. She called me back promptly and we set up a date for her to come over. I had to call Evanne on the day of my appointment with her and let her know I was running late. She was very accommodating and showed up right on time with lots of paint swatches and decorating magazines and a friendly smile! Although she was there to help me with my family room, I let her know I was in the market for a new dining room table. I just didn't like the way it fit in its space. Almost immediately she looked at it and angled the table in a different direction, and now I love the way the table looks in there. Evanne has a great decorating eye. She gave me some really great, inexpensive ways to go about decorating my family room. The room has these two long ledges that are up high that have nothing on them. I never thought of decorating them. She gave me some great, inexpensive ideas on how to decorate those to warm up the room. I have an old traditional-style home, and she suggested some great furniture ideas for me and gave me a great idea on a way for me to open up the room and make it appear more open. We have since bought some some new furniture and taken her advice on that, and we can't believe how spacious the room looks now. I also love the different color combinations she introduced to me. Our room is definitely more colorful and inviting now, just as I had hoped. You can tell Evanne really loves what she does. We got so into it that she even stayed longer than planned and didn't charge me for the extra time! I loved all of her ideas and plan on calling her back soon to finish up on the family room and start her working on my kitchen!
