Joshua's Plumbing

I have worked with Joshua from 2009 to present. He has done small jobs and well as large major plumbing and pipe replacement. In the larger jobs he had to work at night and do only what he could complete. He worked well with my tenant who at the time was very difficult to work with. He has done major home remodel were old hot water pipes had to be replace, to hot water heaters, leaking faucets etc. Communicate well is alway organized and is very honest about pricing. Of course he makes a profit, but Joshua's rates are competitive and the service excellent so he is on on our list of contractors that we do not get competitive bids. I read a review that gave Joshua a F I am willing to bet he did work with Josh on any job. Josh does not have much overhead, so most calls are returned in the evening. Once you have worked with him and understand how a true independent works you will have no issues. And of course low overhead does lead to better pricing. Good people get busy.

I called Josh because he had great reviews on Angie's List. It also seemed like he was very attentive because you see a response from him on each customer review. When he came over, things seemed as advertised. Very nice guy. I wanted to get quotes on a few things, including replacing shower faucet handles on both our bathrooms and getting sink water stops. He took a look at the shower handle and said he would need to shop for the right parts if we didn't want to gut an entire shower wall. He asked me to text him pictures of the handle, which I did. A week goes by and no answer so I follow up via text. He responds saying that he didn't have any luck using the pictures I sent him and he'll have to take the actual part to his supplier. Two weeks have now gone by (3 weeks since his first visit). I follow up asking if he could come by to remove the part to take to his supplier (I texted him on a weekend). He replies back that his supplier is only open during the weekday. Told him that's fine and to let me know when he can come by during the week. No response to my text. I follow up three weeks later (6 weeks since his first visit) and follow up again one last time to see if he could take the parts in for a match...no response. I guess it's my fault for getting strung along so long, but I really wanted to work with a mom & pop operation in the local area. My bad.

Joshua is the best plumber we've ever dealt with. He explains things so clearly (he should be a teacher) and he is patient and very honest. Two days before New Year's, our water in the kitchen and laundry room sinks and washing machine would not drain. I looked on Angie's List and found Joshua's Plumbing and with his all is "A" ratings, decided to call him thinking it would be impossible to even get a response during the holiday. He called right back and said he would be willing to come over but he would rather come over New Year's Day so he could take his wife out to dinner that night which was perfectly fine with me. Joshua Scott showed up right on time on the holiday (!) and worked diligently for almost 5 hours. Because we did not have a clean-out, he could only use a small snake and was unable to get through the blockage. Two days prior, we had our handyman over to try to fix the problem and he also worked for 5 hours unsuccessfully so I knew that it was a stubborn blockage. Joshua said he would not charge us for the 5 hr. effort (!) and even suggested that we may want to call one of those roto-rooter type places that just do drain clean-outs. They could go up on the roof and push through the blockage with a larger snake and with a lot more force. The problem is we have a red tiled roof and any weight on them would crack the tiles, then it would require hiring a roofing contractor to do the repair. We'd already been down this road and didn't want to do this again. Joshua said the other option was that he could put in a proper clean-out (many of the homes built in the 60s lacked this feature) and in the future, it would be easy to get a larger snake down and puncture any blockage. So, two days later, he returned with his assistant, installed the clean-out and was able to clear up the blockage caused by roots right away. Joshua's plumbing is the absolute best. Because he was willing to come out on the holiday, it showed that he really cared and was willing to go the extra mile. He is sincere, honest and reliable and we will always use him in the future. We feel so fortunate to have found him!!!

Went really well.. Nice gentleman, showed up for bid exactly on time. Seemed to know his business Liked his plans, but the pricing didn't work for us.

Josh moved the water line to the house, to allow some construction, and then relocated it underground. Josh was super easy to work with, and did a great job of letting me know what he was doing and explaining the project. He was also very accommodating on schedule, working around the other construction crew. The project went really well, and I will certainly hire Joshua's Plumbing again.

I would not use Josh again- he just didn't seem to have the expertise or knowledge to take care of the job.

The drain for our washing machine gets backed up from time to time. We call a plumber and get it snaked, and things are OK again for awhile. Recently it was backed up again, to the point that the floor would be flooded when we did a load of laundry. We called Joshua's plumbing, and he came out and did a detailed inspection. He told us that the drain pipe was so badly clogged that there was just a tiny opening, and that the periodic snaking merely opened up the tiny hole a bit. Anyway, he removed the drain trap and cleaned it out - it was incredibly clogged. Then he snaked drain all the way to the main, then did a power clean of the pipe. Other plumbers would simply snake the drain, take our money and leave. Joshua told us it should be quite some time before we have any more problems with that drain. Naturally, we did several loads of laundry when he left, and the floor around the washing machine remained bone dry.

I called Joshua on Monday, after another plumber I called said he "might" be able to fit me in by the end of the week. Joshua said that he could come by the next day, and gave me an estimate over the phone for the services I described. Joshua and his assistant showed up when promised, and went right to work. They were very careful about not damaging my brand new hardwood floors, and made sure they disposed of all trash. We threw him a curveball by asking him if he could shorten a gas line, and he did with no problem, for a very reasonable fee. In a short time, everything was in working order, and my wife and I could not be happier with the service provided, and his great, helpful attitude. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

I contacted Joshua to let him know that I wanted to move forward with installing a new water heater and a section of pipe that was leaking. I also had a toilet that was leaking. In a previous visit from Joshua and his assistant Kristen we had discovered the two leaks. He is always on time and courteous. Every situation presents a different challenge and this one did as well. He has excellent problem solving skills and really thinks of the best way to do the repair unobtrusively. The leak was on the opposite side of my crawl space and because of the rain, was drenched as he crawled in. Just to get to the other side the space was so limited he had a heck of time but managed to get there and repair the leak. He explains everything very clearly. I was interested in what he was doing and pretty much watched everything while he was doing it. He never minded, in fact took the time to explain any extra questions that I had. He extensively tested his work after turning the water back on and explained how to light the water heater. I couldn't be happier. I would trust him to perform any work even if I wasn't home. Very trustworthy and honest. He works with you on the price too for package deals.

Located the point of a water leak in the pipes, and came up with the most cost effective solution and did the repairs in one day.

So far so good. We have not finished the remodel so Josh still has some work to do after some walls are built but I am sure he will do a great job as he has done so far.

They came out and repair the toilet, which I am very pleased about. I have tried to have this toilet fixed by others, but that couldn't successfully repair it because of the special parts. They came out and did a great job. The price was good and didn't try to sell me on anything. He seemed to be straight forward and honest, which I certainly appreciated.

I punctured a water line while I was drilling a hole for shelves in my closet. Josh was out the same day that I called and fixed the leak in a very short time. He was very cordial and I was happy with the repair and happy to have the hot water back.

Overall, great....on time and loved he cleaned after himself very well.

Joshua was a pleasure to work with. I left a message and he called me back in just a few minutes. He gave me an estimate over the phone based upon my description of the work I needed and told me if I wanted a more exact estimate to take a picture with my phone and email or message it to him. I did that, he refined his quote and obtained the exact regulator I needed. After I told him the price was acceptable (it was basically in line with what I expected) he came the very next day. He showed up right on time with his assistant. He was thorough in his work, and very pleasant to deal with. All in all I am very satisfied.

I had a water softer problem which resulted in having filtering beads allover my pipes. First, they clogged all my pipes resulting in no water in the house, then thinking of the worst, they might destroy all of my appliances such as dish washer, washing machine, water heater and refrigerator. Because those beads can go inside all appliances and clog from the inside. I called Joshua on Thursday and he came out on Friday, very punctual. Not only Joshua did everything that I hoped he could do (declog all my pipes), he also gave me tones of advice on how to maintain my appliances. I have a "crooked faucet" he fixed it for me without asking. Thank you Joshua! You are a lifesaver!

Called on Wednesday because the kitchen sink was clogged. Joshua was able to give an appointment for Thursday afternoon. He said he would come out earlier if his prior job finished. He arrived an hour ahead of schedule and started right in. He was able to determine that the problem was the vent line from the roof to the main line. We had him clear the main line and the 4 feeder lines since they had not been checked in quite some time. He did the job efficiently. Knew what he was doing and made recommendations to prevent future clogs.

We love this guy! He doesn't just give up. He will get to the bottom of the problem and take the extra mile to fix it. We recommended him to a friend and they also really liked him. We found ourselves a keeper!!

Contacted several Plumbers for quotes and assessment, Joshua responded withing hours even though he was out of town on vacation. We scheduled an appointment and he arrived promptly, he was meticulous in his assessment, we discussed my needs and timeline (due to remodel with kitchen contractors), he outlined completly the time schedule to complete the work, the process and the available choices for re-pipe (copper and pex). After meeting Joshua and receiving his bid promptly the same evening and then Joshua speaking with my husband on the phone to discuss what he reviewed with me, we selected Joshua as our contractor of choice for the project. One contractor quoted us a lower price and said it would be better if we left the house for a week! We didnt call him back. After Joshua came out to the house I knew he was the right choice, price was not the only deciding factor. WE ABSOLUTELY MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE, Joshua is wonderful, very neat, very organized and very very detail oriented. He handled all aspects of the job with total professionalism and honesty. We will now use Joshuas Plumbing as our "regular" plumber. We are very happy with our choice and have no regrets. We feel as if we have made a friend with Joshua. He is very likeable, honest and trustworthy. Joshua was very deatiled in explaining the process; and the day the job started he was very courteous to the fact that we would be without water for a period of time, he staged his work so that the amount of time the water was completey off was as minimal as possible. He maintained a very clean work area and was considerate of the other family members and pets in the home. Joshua reviewed carefully the kitchen contractors design plans so that his gas line installation would align with the new cabinet installation, and advised us he would return after cabinets are installed to wrap up and finalize the line. After completing the project he told me to call anytime if I had any concerns or needs, no matter how small. Nice guy! I contacted this company to get an estimate to fix the problem as described above. The reason I chose this company was its proximity to my house (only 3.89 miles) and they had more that 40 reviews, all of them excellent. I was very impressed with this company for receiving such a high rating and was looking forward to working with them. However, despite numerous calls I made to them and left a message, they did not call back. If they are not willing to provide any estimate, the least they can do is to call me back and say so. I hate to spoil their record by providing such a negative review, but I decided to tell my experience, since this is what Angie's list asks for. I answered "Yes" to question if I use this company again. I will give them one more chance in the future since the company has such a great reviews.

It went very well. Joshua is very prompt, both when he came for an estimate and when he came to do the work. He fixed a shower leak that we had been told by other plumbers that was not repairable unless we broke a hole through the home's exterior wall to access the plumbing or replaced the fiberglass tub enclosure. Both of these estimates were in excess of $500 just for that one leak. In fixing it, he did end up having to replace all the hardware with new, which he quickly went and purchased, but he fixed it and two other leaks in other bathrooms for a price that I found reasonable. For the first time in years, we do not have any water leaks!He is very polite, professional, and easy to work with.

Everything went smoothly. Highly recommend.

Joshua came out Friday afternoon for "plan A" to patch the leaky galvan pipe. When the patch wouldn't hold over all the rust, he returned on Monday for "plan B" to replace the bad section of pipe. This was successful, after taping up a couple joints that began to leak after the disturbance. Joshua was professional, personable, knowledgeable, and very punctual. He was always on time. Also he's good with kids.

At 8 am Joshua was at the door with his helper. After checking several things he said he had to go up on the roof. After he cleaned out the clog he showed me how there was some pipes that were not correct and had a curve which is not usually there. I told him to fix it then. I also had a drip in the kitchen faucet I asked him to fix. He removed the thing that needed to be replaced and I suggested he do both hot and cold at the same time, he agreed and told me they would probably cost about $30 each. He went to Home depot and called me to tell me they didn't have any in stock because they were pretty old so I said then get me a new faucet similar to the one I had becauseI liked that I could pull the faucet out and use it as a wand. There was one on sale for $100 so I said get it. He told me if I didn't like it when he got here he would take it back. It was fine and he put it in for me. At the time I also had a water filter system under the sink which had not been used in years. I asked him if he could remove it and he did that too. I was so grateful to get back the space. He and his helper were both very pleasant worked in a professional timeframe even after all the work I added. I will certainly have him back again.
