Description of Work: I had an old Jacuzzi I needed removed. It was very large and I had no way to move it. Spa Removers came to my home and cut it up and removed it within 45 minutes. They were fast, efficient, and very clean. They capped off my electrical wires and gave me ideas on changes I could make with my electrical box. The area was cleaned very nicely with a power wash. I was very impressed with their professionalism and the price was GREAT!

It couldn't have gone better. They were on time and as an added bonus, friendly professionals. I thought the quote was fair, and the discount was evidence that Spa Removers is managed by people with an ethical sensibility. Just hire them, you won't be sorry.
Description of Work: My portable spa was removed to accommodate re-landscaping in the backyard. I need it replaced and couldn't find any professional service or 4 friends to do the simple task of rolling it back to the platform and placing it in a position that would allow for it's reconnection. In a desparate move, I called Spa Removers with the thought that if I couldn't find anyone to do the work, they might be available to remove and dispose of the spa. When I spoke to their very friendly and helpful receptionist on the phone she suggested that they might be able to replace the spa to its platform, but she had to check with the boss who was stuck on the East Coast because of Hurricane Sandy. She called me back with the fabulous news that he had agreed to replace the spa on Monday, November 5th. The cost quoted was $225. On Monday morning, Lando and his crew reported for duty and in less than half an hour the deed was done. The spa had already been sitting on rollers so it made their work a little easier, plus the fact that the distance was short and there were no obstructions. The work that I'd been trying to get done for more than a month was done quickly, neatly, professionally. Lando and his team were pleasant and personable. He gave me a $25 break on the price since it was a pretty easy job for them.

Requested and received quote on 10-11-2012. Made request to schedule appointment on 10-16-2012 and was scheduled for 10-22-2012. Anne was very co-operative is scheduling eariest possible date for the spa removal. Lando and his crew arrived at the scheduled time and removed the spa in a very professional manner. They removed all debris and power washed where the Spa was setting leaving the patio clean and ready to use. I don't plan on having another SPA for them to remove, but would highly recommend them to anyone who does.

I'd read the reviews of this company and had high expectations. They managed to exceed them. The estimate was received via email within an hour. The work was spot on as promised. They are based in Irvine so had a limited service window but worked with my schedule to make it work. I also had a tight window to perform the services on the day they were coming out but the team worked fast to hit my deadline. I had a strange 80"s set up that was on a side of a hill and had some unusual steps, etc. but these guys didn't bat an eye and got right too the job. HIGHLY recommend this company.

Spa Removers charged a very fair price to remove an old spa in my home in the Hollywood Hills. I scheduled my appointment on a Friday, and they were able to come on the following Monday. They arrived on time and finished the job in about 3 hours. They did a great job removing the spa, cleaning the area, and removing the debris. I would highly recommend them, and would happily use them again.
Description of Work: I had an old spa that needed to be removed. The spa had been built into a deck in the back of my home in the Hollywood Hills. The crew from Spa Removers came, cut the tub into a lot of little pieces, and completely removed all debris from my home. Since my home is in the Hills, there is not easy access to the deck. The Spa Removers happily hauled all the debris off my deck by climbing over a 5 foot retaining wall so that they would not have to come through my house. They were on time, worked quickly, and were very reasonable.

This is the worst company when it comes to customer service. Even though they advertise that they serve all of California - including the SF Bay area - they do not! It is just a ploy to sell you services you don't need. It took mutiple tries just to get an appiontment. On the day they were supposed to arrive (I had received a confirmaiton the day before) their diriver called and said he was in Southern California and would not be coming. He made the call AFTER the deadline had past for the appointed time he was supposed to arrive. Phone calls were not returned, emails were not answered; basically the worst customer service you can image. Northern California people beware - this company is a fraud. They do NOT serve Northern California as they advertise.
Description of Work: We were supposed to have a spa removed from a rental property we own. It took 3 tries but we finally got an appointment. Unfortunately, I selected this company based on the reviews in Angie's List. The reviews turned out to be inaccurate - at least for us. They never arrived. They only called to say they weren't coming AFTER the time window had passed when they said they would arrive. Their excuse: "Oh, we are in Southern California". Their ad claims they service Northern California, but they do not. I was also very specific when I said this home was in Brentwood (Northern California). Apparently intelligence is not a prerequisite to work at this establishment. Meanwhile, my wife took the day off so she could be there when they arrived. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

Response from Spa Removers
Dear Angie's List Members: Well, the inevitable has occurred. After three+ years in business, serving thousands of happy and even ecstatic customers, with not a single negative review, it happened. We got one. And not a mere negative review. A spectacularly bad review. According to the customer-- who never even had the chance to use our services -- we are the "worst" company. We have the "worst customer service." We never return emails or calls. We lack intelligence. We are a "fraud" (rather strong allegation with legal overtones, eh?). To the customer, it seems that we are worse than Enron. So, what happened? What caused the customer to spew such nasty, verging-on-libelous invective? Let's look at the facts. Our scheduler made a mistake. An honest one, for which she takes complete and total responsibility. And took immediate measures to acknowledge, apologize for, and fix. So, what'd she do that would make someone write such an impassioned, vitriolic review? The customer booked a spa removal for Brentwood, CA. Our scheduler put on the calendar for LA-area jobs. She thought Brentwood meant Brentwood in Los Angeles. You know, OJ Simpson's Brentwood. Did you know that there is another Brentwood, in Northern CA? She didn't either. We realized that we made this mistake on the day the service was scheduled. We contacted the customer immediately. Let's have some more facts. The customer, you are correct that we were unable to remove your spa on 8/1/12. As soon as we realized the error, my scheduler and I placed multiple phone calls to you. That day we emailed you an apology. This was an honest mistake. We told you in voicemails, and told your wife on the phone, that we would be back in NorCal in less than two weeks and looked forward to rescheduling you. To all of our communiques, you had just one reply: "Please let me know what your company intends to do to correct this. Please note that I regularly provide feedback on Angie's List, Diamond Certified, and YELP." One word comes to mind when reading your sentence, The customer: Blackmail. You apparently imply that unless we discount our fee, you will post a negative review. Lo and behold, you did. And you never gave us a chance to rectify our honest error. You claim that we do not serve Northern CA. This is entirely untrue. We spend 7-10 days each month removing spas in Northern CA (which we consider the Bay Area and Sacramento). In fact we are working there this week (August 13-20). You claim that we never return emails. The facts: You emailed us a request for a quote on 7/15/12 at 8:23PM. We emailed you a quote on 7/16/12 at 9:34AM. You emailed us an appointment request on 7/16/12 at 11:21AM. We emailed you a response on 7/16/12 at 5:41PM, stating that we were currently working in Northern California and would be able to schedule your job for the following week. You emailed that you would get back to us. On 7/21/12 at 8:11AM you emailed us wishing to reschedule. We emailed you 17 minutes later, to say that we would be pleased to help you and began to suggest appointment times. From 7/15/12 to 8/1/12 we exchanged a total of 26 emails. It is interesting to note that nowhere in our copious email correspondence did you state that you lived in the Northern CA Brentwood. My scheduler replied to each of your emails on a timely basis. In fact, you thanked her for replying so promptly. We told you in our second email that we book our jobs in regional clusters throughout Northern and Southern CA. You claim that we never return phone calls. You seem to be projecting here. My scheduler and I left you and your wife multiple voicemails and text messages. You never replied to a single voicemail or text message. Your wife did have the courtesy to get back to us. Unlike you, she took our error in stride, was respectful and courteous, said it was not a big deal and that the appointment would be rescheduled. It was a pleasure interacting with her. In three years we have served thousands of customers in Northern and Southern CA with no negative reviews. We take great pride in our excellent customer service. We deeply regret our error in scheduling you for Brentwood in Los Angeles. We apologized to you multiple times. We do not deny making this honest and regrettable error. Throughout our discussions with you, both for scheduling the job and after the error, we treated you and your wife with the utmost courtesy and respect. Not only have you refused to respond to our emails and voicemails, your abusive language is inappropriate in a professional, civil context. Again, we acknowledge and fully apologize for the error in scheduling you for Brentwood in Los Angeles. Sincerely, Lando Fehrenbach Owner-Operator Spa Removers

Spa Removers is an outstanding example of how a service organization should be implemented and managed. Everything, from communication to service to settlement was clean, straightforward, painless, professional and human. My initial contact (web) was responded to within two hours by Anne. Subsequent communication from providing greater detail to getting a solid quote was equally fast and complete. I should also mention that Anne is not only a cheerful and literate person, she is respectful and mindful of people's time and schedules. We quickly arrived at a scope of work and appointment. When the crew arrived, Lando introduced himself and his team (rare that team members are introduced with contractors...). He surveyed the site with me, discussed options for the removal, estimated how long it would take and started work right away. The team was efficient (VERY efficient), neat, respectful of my property/landscaping and minimized any debris drift that might go towards my neighbors. They cleaned the work area, power washed the concrete of dirt and stains and cleaned the access path from the backyard out to the truck in front. As the crew finished up, Lando and I settled the bill and with a handshake, they were off. The whole process took less than one hour. I have already recommended them to several neighbors and friends without hesitation. Spa Removers is a professional, class act in every sense.
Description of Work: We had a 20 year old, above ground, fiberglass hot tub that needed to go. I was looking for a service that would do the removal from soup to nuts as I no longer have the time (or inclination) to do that work on my weekends. I found Spa Removers here on Angie's List and decided to give them a call.

It went great, they drained the water for us, cut it up, hauled it away, took out the extra fuse, and capped off the plumbing. They even power-washed the concrete slab it was sitting on! Their prices include everything as well, all recycling fees, labor, and taxes, they price they give you is the price you pay!
Description of Work: Spa Removers were great, we had them remove a 7x7 hot tub that was old and falling apart in the yard of the house we just bought. There was a concrete planter wall on one side, and decking a little less then halfway up the hot tub on two other sides. They still charged us the basic price since we had one side open, even though their website said it would be an extra $50 if decking was around it. There was also about a years worth of standing water in the tub that we didnt know how to drain. They took care of everything!

My 8x8 above ground fiberglass spa was severly damaged in a storm about a year ago. The cost of repair exceeded the value. Upon deciding to remove it, I called Spa Removers. They were courteous, responded quickly to my calls, scheduled a time that was mutually convenient, and provided a reminder call. They had the appropriate safety gear, and in less than 2 hours of their arrival, had completely removed the spa, decking, hoses, and cover. They powerwashed the patio, capped the electrical wires and removed ALL trash. They even gave suggestions on what the area could be used for if I chose not to replace the spa. I highly recommend them. It was money well spent. I only wished I had contacted them sooner.
Description of Work: They came to cut up and remove old above ground spa and decking. They capped the electrical wires as requested and powerwashed the patio underneath as agreed. Their clean up was very thorough, and I would highly recommend them. About an hour before they were due, they called to notify me they had been delayed, expecting to arrive an hour later than planned. They were as good as their word.

Overall, my experience was very good. I scheduled a time and date through email with Lando's appointment administrator about a week in advance of the actual work. She answered all of my questions and She followed up with me again the day before the appointment to let me know that Lando would be at my house at 8:30 am. The next day, I called Lando directly to let him know that I was running a few minutes late. It turned out that that wasn't an issue, as Lando was a few hours away beginning another job; somewhere wires got crossed but I believe this to be an honest mistake. We rescheduled for that afternoon; no problem as it was a holiday and I didn't have fixed plans. Upon arrival, Lando and his assistant were courteous and conscientious. They chopped up the spa and showed me where, to my surprise, rodents had built nests is the insulation - fascinating and disgusting at the same time. Glad to be rid of that thing! They cleaned up nicely powerwashing the slab on which the spa had sat. Lando even powerwashed a section of my patio where the previous owners must of had an iron table that had stained the masonry. All in all, a satisfying experience and good value for the money spent. Thanks Lando!

They were extremely professional from the time they emailed me a quote through the actual removal of my backyard spa and deck. Their quote indicated everything that they were going to do and it was done exceptionally well. Kimrey and his assistant arrived exactly when they said they would. Anne, their scheduler, was professional and easy to work with. Everything they did was first class. And they are extremely neat and careful in their work. Great experience working with them!

Lando and his help Herocio arrived on time. They removed the power from the box, cut the spa up and hauled it away with leftover chemicals ($50). They used a high power wash to remove the mildew on the cement. It took two days from the initial call to get the tub removed even though they cover all of California. Very friendly people, outstanding service.

I sent an email to the company, asking for an estimate for removing my above-ground spa. They replied to my email the same day and provided an estimate of $300. When I accepted this, they put me on their schedule. Lando's team (Lando is the owner, I believe) goes between southern and northern California. Two weeks after they put me on the schedule, Lando contacted me and asked if they could come the next day at 10 AM. At 9:30 the next morning, Lando called and said that, due to traffic issues, they would be a little late. They (Lando and one other gentleman) arrived at 11:00 and began cutting the spa into pieces. By 11:45, they had removed the spa, steps and chemicals from the backyard and shoveled up the remaining "stuff" from under where the spa was sitting (i.e., leaves, etc.), and they hauled it all away in their truck. They even swept up in the street around their truck to make sure they didn't leave any trash from the job. Lando and his assistant (my apologies that I can't remember his name) were very personable and kind. I was dreading having to get this done, and these folks made the whole thing virtually painless. I highly recommend Lando and his team at Spa Removers.
Description of Work: Hauled away a 6' x 6' above-ground spa from the backyard, including the wooden steps and remaining chemicals.
