This started off just being a regular maintenance call. Nothing was wrong with the air conditioner, but the technician, who seemed to do a pretty good job, was more intent on trying to sell other services/items to put on our system. Long story short, the simple service call that we thought we had called the company out for wound up costing us $631.

Guaranteed Quality Heating and Air is now my go to company for all services they can cover. I had a mini-split system installed by GQ. The service install team was very efficient, professional, and dedicated to doing a job they can be proud of and I would be fully satisfied with. The team was quick, had all needed materials, kept all work areas clean and protected. Everyone was courteous. I was ask for preferences in all decisions where choices could be made such as the location of the exterior unit, & the running of the lines, even the location of the wall “pocket” for the remote. Great job, excellent system, and a customer comes first attitude by all employees is obvious. TC

The guy way overcharged for what he did. He was suppose to charge $69 service call plus the material he uses. He charged $266 for what he called electrical problem without explaining what he actually did. Later I found out he probably replaced a burned fuse or just connected a wire that had been disconnected. The problem actually was not an A/C problem. He just took advantage of the situation. Dishonest people. You find them everywhere. The question is, whar recourse do I have. Please advise. Thanks,

EDIT: James did reach out to me to rectify this issue. I have updated my ratings accordingly. Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware because this company should be made famous for it's insurmountable price gouging. Literally 900%-1000% price gouging on parts. A/C seems to run fine now, but after an incredible financial burden. The A/C was blowing air but it was not cold. The capacitor and the compressor saver needed to be replaced. The capacitor runs at about $250 and the compressor saver just under $50. They charged $800 and I suspect that they did this purposely because they are aware that we are on the cusp of a heat wave. Not only was the pricing outrageous, but the professional who came to visit had trouble accessing the unit because there was a branch in the way. Instead of cutting down the branch or asking me to cut down the branch on his behalf, he instead chose to pack up all of his equipment, and informed me that he was unable to access the unit and to make another appointment. I then grabbed a saw from the garage and cut down the branch myself. It took me no longer than 15 seconds to cut down the branch. As I was cutting down the branch, another small branch appeared to be in the way that also needed to be cut to make access to the A/C unit easier. It was at this point he told me that he had an electric saw in his truck and that he was going to go and grab it. I'm curious why he didn't get it in the first place especially because an electric saw is very easy to use and the offending branch was so small it would have been very easy to cut down. Upon discussing this topic with the professional, he called me racist for even suggesting that he is a brown gardener who should be expected to cut down branches in his way. I'm not asking him to cut down the branches because of the color of his skin, I was asking him to cut down the branch because it is his job to access the A/C! Even so, I had no problem cutting down the branch myself. All he needed to do was ask. Once we confirmed the A/C unit would be fixed appropriately with the two aforementioned parts, I tried to negotiate a fair price for those parts. The professional then told me that we're in summer and it's just simple supply and demand. I agreed, that supply and demand is fair, but a 900%-1000% markup is ludicrous. We conference called the manager who told me that was the price was fair and if I didn't like it, he'll have his professional, Go into the A/C unit and rip out those parts. Before I could even respond, the manager hung up on the phone on me. I am appalled at this level of service. I went ahead and had them finish the job anyway not because I was happy but because of sheer logic. I figured they were going to charge me a service fee anyway and then I would have to hire an actually legitimate professional, which would cost me around $500-$600. So easy! Jay did a great job coming and talking us through the process. James did a great job making sure we were set to go and Jose and Omar WERE FANTASTIC! They showed up on time, clean and respectable. We also were having a hard time setting up digitally and they were so patient to make sure we were good to go! I had three companies come out and give estimates. All were in the same range. My decision was based on who I felt most comfortable with. Isidro, from Guaranteed Quality Heating and Air, was that person. He was on-time, personable and knowledgeable. He listened and answered every question I had. Isidro wasn't a salesperson - just the opposite. He's more of a technician who gained my trust. He made the difference. The crew who came out were fantastic. Guaranteed Quality Heating and Air did a very good job for us. The service rep who came originally and gave us the estimate was through and knowledgeable. Once we asked to start the job, it took less than one week to schedule the job. The day of the job, they were on time and the workers were professional and helpful. The job was finished in less than a day as stated and everything worked as it should. There was one glitch about new registers and once I pointed it out, they returned within a week and replaced all our old registers with the new ones per the contract. They followed up quickly and finished the job. I'd use them again and would recommend them to others.
