Unable to provide appointment as requested. Was specific that it needed to be FIRST thing in the morning. All I could get was a "window." I run a business and don't work on "windows." This is why I requested the first appointment. I bought a voucher for $ 49 to be applied towards their service. Please refund this. Thank you.

Sorry, it's been a few months since this work was done, but my primary memory is of a bait and switch. The guy who showed up was a licensed electrician, but was a subcontractor to the Angie's List vendor, not the vendor I hired with the coupon and based on the grades. He reluctantly honored my coupon and promptly tried to sell me on replacing my entire electrical panel. It's not a crime, but it made me feel like I needed a shower after he left. Good reminder to check the credentials of the pros who come to your house.

Quick and efficent. Did suggest that we upgrade our breaker panel since some of the wiring was aluminum (possible fire hazard), but it didn't need to be done immediately. Solved our wiring problems with kitchen appliances and washing/dryer machines.

It was not great. The individual they sent out turned out he ended up leaving Comfort Electric the next day. He did half the job. There were certain things he promised he come back and take care of at a later time but he didn't. The deal was great upfront but what they ended up quoting me for the work they were doing ended up being a lot more than expected. I felt like I didn't get the full value of the promotion. I think what was being done could have been done for certainly a bit more than that but they doubled the cost of what that was. I didn't feel their service was a very good value. The quality of work was way better. It ended up being $800 out of pocket when all was said and done. It would be nice to have better follow-up from their personnel. I got a call from the owner explaining that the guy ended up leaving the company. He was even asking me for a cancelled check that I gave the individual because he wasn't sure if he actually did the work or if he got the check. They could have better personnel who stand behind their work.

The guys were extremely rude and unprofessional, letting me know that the use of a Angie's list deal was costing him and thus the job was hardly "worth it" in terms of effort or courtesy. I could tell from his unsmiling manner and snide remarks as soon as I opened the door and he said that he knew we bought the deal so at most he could give us a couple light switch panel changes under it, or the fan but not both. I wanted to know approximate prices so I could decide since we had extensive electric needs but I only wanted to start with a few and see how the company selection went (clearly this was a bad one) and gave a call to my husband-- the guy rolled his eyes a lot when I was communicating things to him. Then after I told him to hold the job on switching out a light panel (he had started taking off 2 screws while I was making the call) which necessitated putting the screws back in, there was more sighing and grumbling. I didn't want to talk as I just wanted them out of the house, but when the time came to settle the bill, he added additional charges to his initial estimate saying he didn't expect the job to be as difficult as it was-- and I protested this. He furiously wrote out the invoice, called my husband a very sarcastic name saying "your husband seems to be Mr. Bargain" and jammed it into my hand. I don't know why the company offers the Angie's list coupon if it is going to elicit such terrible service and attitude to the customers, and I felt bad for him if he got peanuts for the job, but I wanted to tell him "Don't be so angry, rude, and despicable toward the customer." It was a terrible experience. The vent is hooked up fine, and the light switch work fine, but the angry attitude and sarcasm were awful.

On time, knows what they were doing.
Description of Work: A bunch of the outlets wasn't working, no electricity. Renee came by on time and diagnosed the problem. In the end, he found out that it was the switch in the garage that controls those outlets. After, it was reset, it worked. He also changed a breaker from one that doesn't fit properly to one that is made for my panel. Also, he consulted with me about how much it would cost to upgrade the panel.

I purchased a deal of $300 dollars worth or work for $99, so they did nothing. I want to request a refund on the deal since they couldn't do anything for the deal price and the quote they gave us is higher than new quotes we have received. Unfortunately this deal was a waste of money for us.

I arranged for the electrician to come out. I took a day off work. It was a weekday. The electrician didn't show. There was a call that he was going to be late. This was between 11:00 and 2:00. He called midway and said that he would be there closer to 4:00. I waited all day and he never showed up. They tried to fit me in one other time. The guy called at eight o'clock in the morning or a little before eight o'clock in the morning. I wasn't able to do it. He said, "Well, I can be there in 15 minutes." I said, "No. I already have plans." So, I gave the gentleman at Comfort Electric, a guy named Heron, a call. He said he'd like to reschedule and that he would give me a further discount. So, we rescheduled, this time, for a Saturday because I wouldn't have to take off work. On the Saturday, the electrician did come out. When I had talked to Heron before, I had described what needed to be done and he said, "Oh, the electrician will have all the parts." So, the electrician shows up and doesn't have anything. He does go out to Home Depot for some parts. We wind up changing the lighting from fluorescent lighting to LED, which was fine. He calls me from the store and says, "Would you like to try and get the contractor's discount?" I said, "That would be great." He said, "Well, then you'll have to put over $500 worth of parts on your credit card," which I authorized. Then they subtracted that amount from the bill. The electrician was supposed to be there for three hours or something like that. He wound up being there all day. I didn't have plans to actually go anywhere. There was something that he missed. So, he said, "Well, I'll come back." It was a situation where my garbage disposal didn't work. They installed new ground outlets by water, in the kitchen and in the three bathrooms. I watched the assistant install the GFCI in the kitchen. It was hooked up to the garbage disposal. What happened was, he had looked at the panel outside and said, "Well, you really should have your breakers replaced," which was fine. But, when he came back to figure out why the garbage disposal didn't work, he eventually discovered that there was a second panel underneath the first panel that had the breaker on it. It took him like an hour and a half to determine why the breaker didn't work and that the breaker was in the second panel underneath the first one. Anyway, it took him an incredible amount of time. Yes, I got a discount and yes, Heron tried to make efforts to accommodate me and things like that. But, I just have to say that they just didn't have their act together. When I had authorized the work to begin with, he gave me an estimate. But the estimate was based upon his wholesale parts cost and not on having to go to Home Depot. This guy came out from Pasadena area and he couldn't go all the way back to his wholesale place. So, he just went to the nearest Home Depot and obviously, the parts were much more expensive. He said, "Well, it's going to be $200 or $300," and then he calls me and says, "It's going to be $500." Then he said, "Well, I'll deduct the higher number from your bill." So, I wound up having to pay about $970. I wound up with savings, I suppose. They did come out. They did do the work. The electrician was, I assume, to be competent. The company is located in Huntington Beach, which was a factor for me because I live in Huntington Beach. But yet, the electrician that came out lives in the Pasadena area. So, if anything came up as far as scheduling, as far as parts, as far as anything, he'd be kind of a fish out of water. I'm just not sure what kind of value I'm getting if they said, "Well, we'll discount you because of the inconvenience," or because of this and that and then, they wind up spending all day instead of a couple of hours. I don't see that the $79 I paid upfront was discounted from the amount. Things were so really confused. I was supposed to get $249 credit. They added a discount of $150. So, they basically gave me $400 worth of credit, instead of $249. My bill was $1370. They subtracted $400. So it was $970. But there was no mention on the bill of the original $79 that I paid. I would never have them come out and pay the price. It would have to be a very attractive deal.
Description of Work: I bought a big deal from them. It was $79 for $249 worth of work.
